This place is a clone of the Triple XXX near campus, but somehow it manages to fall just a tad short of its progenitor. They always manage to overcook the fried food. Not too bad but enough to tell the difference. And the "atmosphere" is somewhat forced with all the references to Route 66, what with the original Route 66 being 100 miles or so to the west. Nice collection of hubcaps though. They close early, so scratch it off your list if you are out foraging after dark. Really, the only reason to go there is if the Triple XXX is too busy to get near such as after a game or something and you are craving some biscuits and gravy or breakfast special. Otherwise stick with the original. One point in their favor is that they take credit cards if that makes a difference to you. One of the Triple XXXs quaint quirks is they are cash only.

I had originally tried for a restaurant close to Route 66, but the line was much too long. I hadnt realized that the Diner was Triple XXX!! I had the two flour tortilla taco platter with all the sides. It was amazing. The rice was flavorful and done perfectly. The black beans were very good and done perfectly. The toppings were sour cream, jalapenos, pico de gallo, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and a spicy sauce (pardon if I missed one). The ground beef was excellent. All in all, I polished off the entire meal for lunch and felt very good about my choice. The wait staff was prompt and courteous. Thanks so much for a quiet, great place to eat with good food!

Quick bite my ass! If you want to come into a restaurant and be ignored for 20 minutes without being acknowledged by the wait staff or offered a menu, then this is the place to go. Needless to say after a twenty minute wait for nothing my wife and I walked out after telling several of the five couples that walked in after us of our experience. We went to Christos and were acknowledged in 30 seconds and served our food in ten minutes. I guess if you have nothing better to do with your day than be ignored then this is absolutely the place to go. But for me I can say that I am never going back to such a rude and incompetent service business.

Originally we wanted to go to Triple XXX because we were from out of town and it was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. But we had some elderly people with us and were told that there was another restaurant with same owners and a lot of the same menu that would be easier for them to move around in. I guess Triple XXX is a little bit tight if you have trouble moving/walking. The burgers are what they are known for and they were good, but I wasnt overwhelmed by them. Maybe my expectations might have been too high.... I dont know that it was any better than Five Guys.

Had a bad experience this time. I am a medium size man and we were seated at what was effectively a childs table in the window with no real shade in a high traffic area near the bar side. Beyond that ordered corned beef and hash (uncooked out of a can) with a side of Mac and cheese (small bowl of boxed Kraft Mac n cheese for $3.68) $21 for two people and $3 worth of food. The young lady that was our waitress was kind and attentive enough. Will not be back.

We had the absolute WORST meal from this restaurant. My tenderloin and onion rings both tasted burnt and were inedible, as were the fries. The burger was decent, but nothing special. We also werent super fond of the root beer. In the restaurants defense, we didnt contact them to report our dissatisfaction, so they had no opportunity to rectify the problem. Even so, EW!

I will never eat here again.. I called place my order to go their websit Misleading it was to another location when I got there had to place my order again. Waited 20 minutes for cold coffee I order hasbowns for potatoes ordered pancake they didnt have syrup in the bag as I asked then she bring 4 sugars for 2 large coffees I would go to IHOP Waffle House any day

Love the place. All the servers are very friendly. Foods real nice too. Big salads, the Purvis burger is funky but good. So is the Boudia burger. Heck even the Tacos are good! Some of the best biscuits and toast. All around just real great place.

This is like XXX little step sister. I mean, the food is still the same, but theres not the exciting atmosphere involved. I suppose if you dont like the counter or loud students at XXX, this would be a place for you, but its not for me.

I just moved to West Lafayette and Ive already been here like 6 times. Its great. They make really good hashbrowns and the staff is super friendly. Ive only been for breakfast but Ive heard their burgers are good as well.

The best biscuits and gravy Ive had from a restaurant by far. Definitely a diner for the local crowd, but the service is quick and friendly. I didnt feel like I had been robbed after paying, either.

It was fantastic. The staff, food and atmosphere was awesome. I brought a bus load of people there and it was very conveint for us. Quick and fun. Their root beer is great. I bought a case of it.

Its a grown up version of tripple xxx on campus. There are also specials and featured menus that you wont find on tripple xxx, and the fact that they take credit card is also a plus.
