OK, here goes ... They dont like dogs here, even legitimate Medical Service Animals. I was warned and discouraged by Staff not to use my Service Animal there ... I should have went elsewhere. The bartender concocted some ridiculous excuse to request that I never return. In general, the food is good. People are OK, but the regulars are very clique-ish and certain bartenders perpetuate that atmosphere. The attitude about Service Animals has got to go ... before they get SUED and Fined $125,000 per ADA Violation. - Article_86

The village is seriously the best cozy bar in Chesterton/Porter. Better than the Upper Deck most definitely. Upland, Sierra Nevada, and other great beers on tap for decent prices. Aside from having to inhale all the townies smoke, this place is great. Karaoke on Thursdays. A great place to come home to on the Holidays and knock a couple back.

SHARON....."the wife" is unbelievably rude along with the "waitress" Jennifer...if you are a young good looking individual DO NOT GO TO THE VILLAGE TAVERN!!! Sharron actually threw an ash tray at us! Will never return...sorry Charlie :-(

Great place, great food! Especially the Village Burger! Great service and fun staff! Come out and see Bon Scott Era AC/DC Tribute Band "Riff/Raff" (Chicago) play there on June 9th, 2012 at 9PM for a rockin good time!
