As a college student, the village is convenient. This place seemed like a great place, so I had assumed. I made the mistake of having outside food at the table I was sitting at in front of this establishment. There was no sign indicating this was wrong, therefore, it was an honest mistake on my behalf. After almost finishing my food, the owner, Mark, approached me and informs me of the rule of no outside food. I thanked him and apologized for my mistake. In my head, I thought I would just throw away my food and go inside and order a drink so I could continue my Sunday afternoon outside at a table. 30 seconds hadnt passed by and Mark resurfaces, telling me, verbatim, "when I said that, that meant you needed to leave, right now." Totally rude and unnecessary as I was on my way to the trash can. I would like to point out - customer service is the most important factor a business can have. It is what brings people back to the establishment. As Maya Angelou once said, "People wont remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel." I thought that could be a useful tip to the owner and the woman working behind the desk today. I will not be returning and I will be letting all of my allies know about my experience there.

I used to love this place until me and a friend (who had a coffee from on campus) decided we were going to sit outside their cafe and do homework. A man that worked here came outside before we even sat down and said "you cant have outside product on this patio. We sell coffee. You have to go." And he was extremely rude about it. We thought he was joking around with us but clearly he wasnt. So my friend THREW HER COFFEE AWAY that she had just bought so that we could sit there. So we go inside to ask if we could please sit outside their cafe now that her coffee is gone.... and they still wouldnt let us. I get that we didnt buy anything there but they were as rude as they possibly could have been. Its a shame because I love their coffee but they ruined it for me and we will not be coming back.

Ive been to The Cup since moving here last year and Ive had a great experience. Its a real retreat with a wonderful owner, great drinks and baristas that know their stuff when it comes to crazy coffee people. [Warning] This is not Starbucks, their drinks come in respectable sizes with real ingredients. You pay a little more for this-- thats how business works. Pros: 1. Original drink menu, few places serve Nitrogen Infused Coffee. 2. Great environment to get some work done. 3. High quality bagel sandwiches. Cons: 1. It can sometimes get cold inside during the winter. 2. WiFi will periodically (every 1-2 hours) crash if its very busy (20 customers). 3. Parking lot confusion, Ive never been towed but a 90-minute rule is enforced.

I never made it to the older version of The Cup, but I heard about it through friends. So when it reopened after the new ownership took over we decided to give it a try. The food is good, not a great variety beyond bagels, but that is to be expected at a coffee shop. The coffee itself it pretty good, I generally just get normal cup of black coffee and have yet to be unsatisfied. Now my wife and I try to have breakfast here at least every Saturday, because we really enjoy the original atmosphere. Plus they sell coffee beans at a great price and can grind them free of charge! I am glad to see that this is yet another quality business in the Village.

I used to be a regular customer visiting about 3 times per week. I will never visit them again after being so rudely treated and witnessing what are probably health code violations. I was yelled at and accused of playing games for calling ahead because they were consistently out of baked goods in the morning. While stopping there on my way to work some days i didnt have time to go to another place. You should also avoid their cooked items after finding hairs one day in my bagel and noticing they didnt take precautions to prevent it. So I go to concannons or Jacks...or the village pantry. I will never use them again.

I have been going to the cup for years, and it is my favorite coffee shop in Muncie. It has a great aesthetic and local art. The food and drinks are delicious and creative. The staff is fun to interact with, and always willing to joke around. In Muncie, a lot of people do not like the Cup, because they are often rude to people who bring outside food and drink, or sit at their restaurant without paying for anything. However, would it be acceptable to use any other facilities without paying for them? I believe The Cup gets a bad rap, because cheap people, use their resources unfairly.

This is by far one of my favorite establishments. They have a great coffee menu. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but I personally would much rather pay for quality than corporate crap. Their bagel sandwiches are expensive, but so very filling. Ive not run into any parking problems, but everyone is generally very nice and courteous. Ive actually had conversations with the owner, and I felt as if he genuinely cared about his customers.

I had never been here before and was clueless about the menu. I asked the staff (wish I got his name ) that I wanted something sweet and cold and he made me something he thought Id love and it was amazing! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the inside is so cute. I havent tried anything other than that drink (which I still dont know what it is) but I will definitely be back to try more!

I went here for the first time recently and it was pretty good! The staff was friendly and I got my drink quickly. The cups are adorable and the London Fog I got was good! The atmosphere is very cute and artsy--its a nice little place to hang out if you want to chat with a friend or just want to read a book by yourself while enjoying a delicious drink.

Used to like the cup, but got tired of high prices, rude workers, slow service, and excessive grease. Also, apparently despite being a repeat customer for 4 years I cant leave my bike at The Cup if I have more business in the village. I have to take it with me. What a petty gesture. Glad I mean nothing to the business at all. Never going back.

Good coffee. A bit pricey, but thats par for the course as far as coffee shops go. The staff is nice and fun to talk to, and the environment is great with one room being dedicated to an ever-rotating art exhibition. If you like biscuits and gravy, show up on a Saturday for their biscuits and bacon gravy with eggs, you wont be disappointed.

Terrible. I sat in the coffee shop as a customer for 3+ hours studying. When I came out, my car had been towed. I will never go back to this place. When I asked them about it they shrugged their shoulders and said they could not do anything about it. Now I am out $110 instead having a relaxing experience.

The coffee is excellent and the service is friendly and wonderful. Great is youre looking for an underground-y coffee shop. The dining area has both an indoor outdoor space, but you cant be there if you havent bought something or if youre not joining someone who has bought something.
