An interesting local pub with a basic menu of salads, sandwiches and wings. Both the interior and exterior are very basic and plain. Inside you will find a large number of regular visitors, who all know each other. There is a TV or two, but not a great place for watching a game. The burger was cooked just as I ordered and the fries were perfectly crisp and hot. No flavors stood out, but they arent aiming for that type of meal. Homestyle cooked food, generous portions and average prices. My buddies ordered the famous wings, these are fried chicken style wings served with a few sauces. Not overly greasy for a few, but if you plan on taking down most of the extremely large portion, you may find them too greasy.

Located in my childhood home of Zionsville, IN, the Friendly has always been a local favorite. Im so pleased to see that its become a favorite of visitors and folks from nearby cities, as well. Id always heard their wings were the best, and now Im happy to say I know for a fact! They have a variety of sauces to choose from, and theyre served on the side so you can have several different sauces in one sitting. My favorite was the traditional hot buffalo sauce. It had perfect consistency, heat and spice. Of course, its always wonderful to encounter old friends during your visit, as well!

Horrible service. Ate my whole salty meal without a single refill on my beverage the whole time. When she finally came to refill, I was done but very thirsty. She walks away and my iced tea tastes like soap water. When she comes back she keeps talking to the other table the whole time when she grabbing our check etc and I cant get a word in edgewise to ask for a new drink or something to wash my meal down. I was screaming of thirst but she was completely preoccupied with chatting with someone while she was supposed to be working. Horrible experience.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the tavern is pretty busy no matter the day. Thankfully the wait time on getting a seat isnt very long. The food is okay. I do have to say one of the dishes that stands out is the wings and the selection of sauces that come with it. Their burgers are made to order and the waitresses/waiters are friendly beyond what is generally seen at bars. So if you want to grab a friend and head into Zionsville then this is a good place to meet up and have some good wings.

This place is absolutely delicious. My friend and I went for the first time and loved it. It was super busy so the service was quite slow. In fact, we werent greeted for about 15mins... but my friend and I both work hospitality so we tend to be a little more understanding. Margs were eh but will definitely be returning no matter what solely for the food! (I ordered spin dip for an app and the chicken salad sandwich with fries for my entree).

Noticed some information under "Details" that said "all ages". Ive tried on several occasions to walk in (years apart and forgetful as I am) with my kids and everytime were turned away. This is fine - its a bar (but so is Chilis and Applebees, ya da ya da) Just a warning for folks looking for a friendly place to eat WITH their children - this isnt it, sorry. Try Patricks in Boone Village or the other restaurants up the street.

Absolutely no clue what the draw is? Ordered 2 burgers, 1 med, 1 med med rare...got1 well done, one med to well. When showed server, her response was " well does it taste good? "???...really? 2 stars because they didnt charge for one of the burgers. Would have preferred if they offered to make one properly. I just dont understand the popularity...people waiting out the door for poor food, and poor service.

As usual on my reviews, the bathroom was clean, but be ready to know that someone can walk in on you, for theyre is no locks on mens door, for those of us who like privacy, otherwise than that the plane was cozy, the food was delicious especially the fried wings. The catfish was too die for, was a little upset theyre was no mashed potatoes to go with steak and gravy. I would definitely return!

The Friendly Tavern is one of our favorite spots in Zionsville. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They have a nice variety of choices on their menu and you get a ton of food for the money. We highly recommend the tenderloin, chili and the buffalo chips. The place is always busy and can get quite noisy. Because they dont allow kids, we have started to get takeout.

Great food! Even better service. Ambient conversational noise is a bit loud, but not so much so that one cannot hear the ones youre with. Sometimes crowded with long wait times, but worth it. All things that do even more for its friendliness if you get what I mean. The place is all about the gatherings of friends. Its where anyone would want their last supper.

"Friendly" is the perfect name for this tavern. This is our go-to spot for a casual meal or for meeting up with friends. No one under 21 is admitted because they do not meet the silly Indiana rule regarding separation of the bar from the restrooms! Thats actually a plus for us. Favorite things to order - the wing platter, and the burgers.

Want one of the best fried tenderloins in the state? Youll find it here... get it with buffalo chips and a beer and youll be in heaven. Dont like tenderloin? Try the fried chicken or fish sandwich, or one of their daily specials. If youre coming at lunch, try to get there early or you might find yourself waiting for a table.

I started with hand breaded mushrooms, wonderful, followed by the filet which was very tender and delicious. This place was recommended to me and I recommend to you if you are in the area. The service was good and friendly also. They have brewed sweet tea.

Always a good choice when in downtown Zionsville. The food has a great home cooked vibe and the drink selections are pretty good too. It is normally pretty packed around dinner, so either set a reservation or plan on eating around their busy times.

THE BEST place in Zionsville for great grub anytime of the day. The bar staff and wait staff are very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. And the chicken wings are to die for! Dont miss your opportunity to go where everybody knows your name.

Although extremely busy, even right after opening, the service was prompt and friendly. Even better was the food and the value. Under ten dollars for a large portion including the drink and it tasted excellent. Highly recommended!

This was our first time to the Friendly Tavern and we will definitely be back! Tenderloin was great and the burger was fantastic! A bit of a hole in the wall, people inside were incredibly friendly! Would definitely recommend!!

We love this place and so does everyone else apparently. Regardless of the day of the week they are swamped. But they do a great job. Tried the fried chicken for the first time and it is fantastic. Thanks for all.

If I could give 0 I would. I have been here for 1 15 mins and other people have gotten food before us? Its safe to say that the service is beyond poor. I get your busy but this is bordering on ridiculous. BS
