When planning our wedding, my husband and I were looking for a unique way to celebrate our reception. We visited numerous cocktail bars, lounges, and dance clubs but were unimpressed with the level of service we received. However, when we met with Bill Pratt - the owner of Forty Five Degrees - we knew we had found the right place! His professionalism, attention to detail, and interest in making our reception a night to remember made him and his establishment stand out. The night of the reception was amazing! The food was delicious! The service was impeccable! Bill was onsite throughout the event to ensure that everything went perfectly! The DJ was amazing! The modern decor and clean lines are beautiful! We continue to get compliments from our friends and family for choosing such a fun venue for our reception. I have dined at Forty Five Degrees as a regular customer and have always been impressed by the delicious food and fantastic service. I would highly recommend Forty Five Degrees to anyone looking for a dinner out or a private party!

First time here, was sat after waiting 30 minutes outside in the heat (waiting area inside is pretty small). I forgot my wallet and ID but I didnt plan on drinking so didnt think anything of it. I was informed it was 21+ after I was sat. Waitress said to just show her anything with my birthdate, facebook, anything. So I reluctantly gave up my table and walked back to my car (which was parked 3 blocks down) and found my registration which had my birthday. I return, speak to the hostess and explain what I have for ID. Everything seems peachy and they seat us again. Well now our waiter is someone else and he gives me a spill how he cant accept this, even though Im A. Clearly over 21 and B. was already told this would be acceptable. I understand you have policies but dont tell me one thing and someone else says differently. Would of saved me a lot of time, energy, and effort.

The rolls were average, but you could save money going to Oishi Sushi on 10th/Shadeland and get better rolls. If you want a trendy/club like atmosphere, go here, if you want a more authentic experience, go to Oishi Sushi. The service was terrible. Below poor-fair. First, when I ordered, he rushed me rather than telling me what he would recommend (this is a Tuesday night), then, when I picked up my order, the bartender didnt speak to me when he handed me my food (this was take out), When I arrived at home, they forgot the wasabi and soy sauce. I went back to pick it up, and they did not say, "sorry about that" or anything, rather, handed it to me with out making eye contact. The taste, again, was average, but nothing special. If you want to stay down town, go to micado, if you want to save money, go to oishi sushi. I will NEVER go here again.

Met friends at 45 for dinner. I have been there before for sushi appetizers and wine right after work, and thought it was OK. Last night I ordered the Wasabi tuna salad and it was mediocre and overpriced, to say the least. There was no NO wasabi in the dressing and hardly any on the 4 itsy bitsy pieces of tuna. When a dining companion complained to the waiter, he said that people in Indianapolis do not want the kick that comes with wasabi. And since they only use fresh, it supposedly has a bite to it. NOT!! The salad was quite small, no bread with it unless I wanted to pay $3. If I go again, it will not be for dinner. What a rip-off.

Service was good, the host was really friendly and the waitress handled our many checks accurately and cheerfully. Unfortunately, I cant really say anything else good about this place. Do you like expensive, tiny servings of okay food? Paying eleven dollars for a bitter salad barely bigger than a slice of bread with so little dressing you can hardly taste it? A signature roll thats basically a california roll, but with the seaweed swapped out for something that has the taste and texture of wet tissue paper? Everything was edible, but we left with empty bellies and wallets both. SO not worth it.

Sundays (4-7 PM), hit the place up for 1/2 price sushi.... Usually its the only day Ill go as the sushi is not worth 10-14 dollars a roll. If you do go, the drinks are overpriced but some are downright delicious and worth it. Super trendy atmosphere, and 21+ only (yeah for no screaming kids!) Like a previous review stated, the vanilla dessert roll is OMG good. Sometimes we pop in for that alone! Expect a wait for your food though, even when they are dead.... usually 20-30 minutes to get your food.

They have a wide variety of sushi and other entrees. The sushi is good but expensive unless you come on Sundays when all rolls are half off. (No carryout or leftover boxes for sushi allowed on this day though.) They have also started to require a drink purchase to get the half off sushi. Wait times and service have steadily gotten worse as well with 30+ minute waits for food. Taking these new negatives into account, there are many other Asian/sushi places across the city with better service and prices.

This is one of the best sushi places in town, and thats coming from an avid sushi fan who has tried most of the sushi place in Indy. We come here so often, many of the servers recognize and always act happy to see us. They have so many unique sushi rolls, and we have tried almost all of them. They often play 90s music when were there, so its always a nice trip down memory lane each time we go. Oh, and Im not much of a cocktail person, but the cocktails Ive had there are awesome.

Its hard not to love some well made sushi, especially on 1/2 off Sundays. Heres the deal purchase any drink and all the rolls (not nigiri or sashimi) is 1/2 off. You cant take the food with you, but lets be real, youd be disappointed in yourself if you werent able to finish your rolls while you were there. Its a trendy environment which can get a little loud, but its not excessive. Overall its a really great option to get your downtown sushi fix.

Very dynamic atmosphere! The staff is vibrant and fun. Many locals come here throughout the week and especially on Sundays for Half Price Sushi. Drinks are amazing and the sushi and other dishes are also really good. There is no beer on tap, but the beer is served very chilled so it makes up for it. Love the music. Its loud and fun so I love coming here for a good time. Highly recommended.
