I love the place for lunch with the bento boxes. Dinner is a different experience - it is the normal sit down. My wife and I went here for a special occasion. I asked if there was a seat tucked away. They assured me there was. We got an isle table that seemed to be in the way of the wait staff. (Maybe the take away here is to not ask for a specific place to be seated). I had the sea bass and it was excellent! Both looks and taste were right on. My wife got the chicken. It was a bit disappointing because it was not as described on the menu. It was different enough that we asked. We were told that it was correct and that they would look into the description. The chicken was served with cauliflower - this was two small pieces. Cheese plate was good, Coffee - good - cream excellent. Brussels sprouts - way good! Trendy place, but not fancy. Service was excellent. Dessert was not as described- chocolate cookie was not soft mousse in the middle as described - pretty but not worth $10. I got the cookie with ice cream (a tablespoon of ice cream). Dont need to return, but three stars for me is A-Okay and that is what I thought - A-Okay, but Im not a big fan after that trip. (I really wanted to love it too!)

Three friends and I ate in the nest at Cerulean last night. (Fellow diners included the parents of a front row Indy driver.) Lovely place, lovely service and ambiance, and food that was both interesting and delicious. I had the corn macaroon to start, white asparagus soup and shared the cheese tray with one of my friends. Three of us shared the rhubarb fennel dessert...every bite of every item was scrumptious! My favorite bite was the corn macaroon and I could make a meal of them. Very unexpected flavors...sort of sweet and very delicious. The soup was a treat...creamy and tasty. The cheese tray had things on it that I never eat, such as orange marmalade. If it all tasted like that marmalade, Id eat it everyday. Service was excellent. The servers are well trained, helpful and smiling.

Visited the bar/lounge for a drink with a friend. Realized a couple days later that I was overcharged on my credit card for more than the bill I signed for that evening. I contacted them and explained the situation, and was told that they could not credit my account, but would mail me a check for the amount I was overcharged. And, the individual told me they would send a gift card as well for the inconvenience. Its been over a month, and I havent received anything. Apparently, this was just their attempt at getting me off the phone, and avoiding the situation. I will not return to this business, since they dont appear to be trustworthy.

Cerulean is my favorite restaurant in the country. They manage to be inventive without being pretentious. They can also turn simple ingredients into the greatest dishes youll ever have. Ive been trying to recreate an asparagus soup I had there three years ago at home every spring and cant even get close. Ive also been trying to figure out how the hell they made octopus as tender as a perfectly cooked scallop, but havent been very successful with that either. Other than the people, Cerulean is the thing I miss most about living in Indiana.

The reason i am giving 2 stars is for the dessert. My wife and i went to this place and we are vegetarians and were told the chef could do something for us. Both our entrees were terrible. I had a root based main course with some barley/lentils and was bad. And the wife ordered some pasta. But how could you go wrong with pasta? Too salty and not fresh. Maybe it is a different case for the meat-lovers i think. the dessert was very good and so was the ambience and the waitress was very courteous and they refunded one entree though.

The food isnt good enough to justify this small of a menu. I could cook a better salmon in my sleep. The service was slow, the cocktails were bad, and the air conditioning did not work, so it was about 80 degrees in there. The atmosphere is different but the food just isnt good. I couldnt even eat my dinner. My date and I found nothing redeeming about this place.

One of the best restaurants Ive ever been to. We go to Cerulean as often as we can and we are coming from Chicago!!!! Cerulean Indy has a different menu than the original Cerulean in Winona but the unique flavors and innovative combinations stay the same! If youre looking for great atmosphere, great flavors, and an excellent night you have got to go here!

This place is absolutely phenomenal. The chef is an absolute genius and a master of his craft. The food is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. The service is similarly amazing. They accidentally overcooked our steak and brought out an entire cheese board as an apology. The location is great and the atmosphere is very modern.

Great ambiance with a creative menu for cocktails, savory and sweet (dessert was off the charts good!). Service was great... well informed staff whom took an interest in creating a positive, memorable experience. Definitely made our list of regular spots (if youre not a gourmand... dont bother).

Our experience at Cerulean exceeded my husband and Is expectations for our two year anniversary. Our waiter, Brett, provided top notch service accompanied by more than credible recommendations. Every dish provided more flavor and aesthetic presentation than imaginable!

I thought I hated Brussels sprouts but I was wrong. What a wonderful menu. Dishes are beautifully presented and prepared. Service was excellent. Charcuterie is a great way to start and dessert is to die for! And dont forget the Brussels sprouts!

Fantastic. Molecular gastronomy used to enhance the meal, not to impress. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and personable. The devour downtown specials made me feel like I was eating a $100 meal for $35.

Phenomenal appetizers, we had three or four, each very unique and extremely tasty, and then dessert was even better, was only in Indy for one night, but lucked out with this!!! would go back in a heartbeat
