I drove past this place one night and it caught my eye. I looked it up, read all the glowing reviews on various sites, which most of the time prove to be fairly accurate, however in this instance I was fooled. I walked in, it smelled smokey which was good, and I remained optimistic until I opened my box and took my first bite of the brisket. It was a large slab of hot wet meat, swimming in a liquid that tasted like beef broth. There was evidence of a smoke ring, but it had no smokey bbq flavor, it just tasted like bland boiled beef. I thought OK, brisket isnt great, lets try the beans. Wow. This was the moment I felt a mixture of pure disappointment, confusion and regret. What a strange tasting concoction. Absolutely nothing like the baked beans youd expect at a BBQ restaurant. I couldnt put my finger on the taste, but it was as if they had melted marshmallows in with the sauce. I couldnt eat anymore after that. The coleslaw was generic grocery store style, in a thick creamy sauce. The hot BBQ sauce was OK, but did little to help make the food go down any easier. No texas toast or buns came with my meal, although I saw them offering out plain slices of white processed bread to other customers. Best part of 20 bucks down the drain, I felt remorse, but at the same time relieved when I closed the lid and threw it away. So far my experience with BBQ in Indy hasnt been great. I think Dickies is the safest bet unfortunately.

Everything smelled and tasted like liquid smoke. My order wasnt accurate and wasnt anything particularly good. Sauce was overwhelmingly sweet and frankly inedible. Beans tasted like apple pie- sweet and cinnamon? Mac & cheese had little to no cheese flavor. Sweet on sweet on fake smoke. No thanks. I felt really uncomfortable inside ordering like I was a bother and unwelcome. I had heard good things but honestly wont be back. With GT Souths right around the corner theres no need for me to try this again. Sorry this didnt meet any of my expectations.

My first time visit this week and omg the smell of bbq smacked me right in the face as I exited my car. Inside the smell was even more heavenly. This place makes a big gurl go crazy...lol. the greens are the best I ever tasted in my life, brisket melt in your mouth goodness. I loved it all cept the potato salad but just my preference Im not a fan of sweet potatoe salad. To top it all off the service is spot on. Final say is food Is great, buenisimo, sehr gut, jayid jiddaan!!!

Been trying to find a place in Indy with excellent rib tips and with my first visit to here today I found it. Incredible friendly service by the guy on the meat station when I told him it was my first visit. He recommended a mix of the hot and sweet sauces and it was perfect. Very surprised at the tenderness of the rib tip meat. Definitely will be back.

My husband and I took my 84 year old Aunt to Black Diamond this past Saturday. We all enjoyed the food. The smoked chicken wings, potato salad, greens, ribs, baked beans and green beans were all very tasty. We so much enjoyed the meal, service and option to eat inside our outside. Excellent choice.

I go out do breakfast every Sunday with friends, after mile walk. We try to find a different place every Sunday, only returning to the places we really like. We will go back often. House made baked goods. Friendly staff and clean ,pleasant surroundings. If you go try the coffee cake muffins.

1. Excellent customer service. Was prepared right on time for my pickup/carryout order. 2. Very friendly. He even gave me some generous portions! 3. The meat was deliciously smoked and so tender. The BBQ sauces are smoky, but still sweet. Im definitely going back again!

This bbq was very good, the side was to die for, the dessert was so good, we tried the the sweet BBQ sause and the hot and it was so good. The service was fast and great. We will most definitely revisit this place. The staff also was very friendly and helpful!

Um yum , you kidding me, doesnt look like much on the outside , but that doesnt matter , what is on the inside is freaking excellent, beans have a sweetness to tham that tastes like home. The pork bbq on a bun was tender and tasty and the gumbo was great.

We had the brisket, shortly after moving to this area. It was TERRIBLE!!! Over cooked, to the point of being so tough that it crumbled apart. No flavor at all. The sides were Bland as well! I wont be spending any more money here.

This is a very good lunch spot. Me and my co-workers go here for lunch about twice a month. We travel about 7 miles. That should tell you how good the food is.
