I have been to 86th street pub on and off for the last 4 years and ever year the service seems to get worse. The food is great!! However the staff doesnt acknowledge you and when they do it seems like its some huge task for them to even serve you. I used to refer my clients when they came into town but, after i herd the comments from them on how their service was, I now send them down the road. Maybe this bar will get back on track with taking customer service seriously (specialily with todays economy) I would love to refer people to it again because of the food. However in this day in age people who are stil wanting to spend money dont want just good food they what good service too.

Very nice neighborhood pub on the NW side of Indy. Service and ambiance very nice for this sort of bar. Defiantly looks like a dive from the outside, but very nice inside. Ate a tenderloin with fries, which was everything you would expect. Food was priced very nicely. The big surprise was the beer list. This has to be one of the best beer lists on this side of town, with a number of different local beers on draft and in bottles, and pricing was inline with or below average. Had a Left Hand Milk Stout, Flat 12 Porter, and a Delirium Tremmens. Overall a very good experience.

The only reason I went to this bar is that its close to where I used to work. It reminds me of a dive bar you would find out in the country somewhere. Dive bars can of course be great but thats not the case here. The food is mediocre and the staffs lack of knowledge is breathtaking. My favorite thing is when a lunch companion asked about the chili. What kind of chili is it he inquired. Its chilly our server replied. What kind of chili we asked? Its chilly she said.

I have been to 86th street pub about 3 times in a one week period. Every time was excellent. We had my wifes 21st bday party here also. The staff is really nice and helpfull and the food is really good as are the drinks. Prices arent bad either. The game room is separated from the main bar area so if its karaoke night and you dont want to listen you can hang out there and its alot quieter. Will defiantly be returning on a more regular basis.

Friendly neighborhood pub. Relaxed, varied crowd, very reasonable prices. The secret is the food -- its fantastic, several notches better than youd ever expect from a pub. Try the veggie beef soup! Great tenderloin. All the pub standards youd expect, made to a much higher standard. Creative specials. Steak night features amazing, perfectly cooked steaks at amazing prices.

For a pub this place has really good food! And now that they no longer allow smoking in the bar its even better so you can actually enjoy it without breathing in the smoke. It can be a little difficult to get to if traffic is heavy so you do have to be mindful of the time of day. They have a jukebox pull tabs and live music on weekends.

Good food and brews. The pricing is decent as well! To get serviced can be a little slow, but once your order is in, its a speedy return. The appetizers are amazing. Try the cheese cubes (all three cheeses). The owner of the place is really cool, and the people that frequent the place are nice.

A little bit of a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but the staff was VERY friendly. It had a game room with pool tables, and they were able to seat our larger group. They had some interesting summer cocktails, and they had GREAT fried pickles. I would definitely visit again.

Jeannine couldnt care less what you want. Patronizing her place of employment forces her to stop chatting with her pals - that is, until she returns to them to make fun of what you ordered. Good food, great atmosphere... Maybe just skip on her night.

The service is always excellent no matter what time or day of the week. The new menus have been awesome and the old standards weve enjoyed over the years especially steak night are terrific and the beer is always ice cold. Great place to hang out!

I go for lunch a few times a month and the lunch specials are a great value. Typical local pub atmosphere. Nothing fancy just cold beer, strong drinks, good food and some pool and golden tee in the back.

Not the best place but I do have to say theyre personalized drink that they have there is a shot called sex with an alligator and honestly its pretty dang good besides that its kind of depressing there.

Some of the coldest beers in town. Janine behind the bar is very friendly and fast with keeping things topped off. Steak night is a good deal for the filet.
