Me, my roomate, and my girlfriend felt like carryout chinese one night. I got the sesame chicken, my roomate got the sweet and sour chicken, and my gf got chicken and broccoli. We all liked our food for the price. Just me and my gf decided to go back tonight to eat in instead of carryout. The place looked nice, free tea, free soup, good service, etc. We started off with hot and sour soup and got it pretty quickly, I was getting excited for good chinese. After the second bite of my soup, I found a DIRTY FINGERNAIL IN MY HOT AND SOUR SOUP AND PUT IT IN MY MOUTH!!!! I was thoroughly surprised, disgusted, and disappointed all at once. I am sure it was a fingernail clipping and the waitress examined it and apologized. I was VERY disappointed because I finally thought I found a good chinese restaurant nearby (96th st), sadly enough I could never force myself to go back just because of the disgusting finger nail clipping in my soup. It also makes me wonder about the hygiene of their employees. :<

I read these reviews and decided to go there last night for Valentines Day and it was the best Chinese Ive ever had. It was so upscale and nice compared to most Chinese places. They had nice platters and tablecloths and the atmosphere was just amazing. The food was pretty good as well. The only thing I thought was weird was that they didnt put egg in the fried rice like most places do. I had crab rangoon for an appetizer - great! beef & broccoli for a meal - really good portion (took half home) and really good taste - comes with rice, soup, fortune cookie - I had no soup. Hubby got sweet & sour chicken and liked it - with white rice - no soup. Altogether it was barely over 20 bucks for both of us (I had a pop too and we got to take a lot home). So def. def. recommend this place to everyone! Its a little tucked away on 96th street heading east but worth it!

I just dont understand these negative reviews. I have come here several times over the past couple of years and have always had great fresh food and excellent service. The hot and sour soup is the best Ive ever had anywhere. Tonite I arrived 20 minutes before closing and even made a special request (ordered a non-hot & spicy meal to be hot & medium spicy) and there was no problem at all. I was the last customer of the evening and did not feel rushed. The manager and my server were very attentive and polite. The fact that this is a moderately priced, sit-down (non-buffet) place and the food is made fresh to order with custom orders being no problem will keep me coming back as long as my experiences are positive.

Terrible. Pot stickers doughy on top and burnt on the bottom. Fried rice was scorched and tasteless. Wonton soup was inedible. Egg Rolls were burnt -- obviously left over and run thru the deep fryer again to heat them up. We had a scallop dish that was tasteless. A chicken dish that was rubbery and tasteless. Our shrimp lo-mein was atrocious-- the noodles were all clumped together (sticky) and the shrimp had a pungent fish odor. And the best part -- when we called back to complain about the fact that the entire order was inedible, the person taking our call was completely disinterested. No apology. If this site would let me give a zero star review -- I would. But 1 star is as low as it goes.

This place used to be amazing! I hadnt had it in a few years so I bought some today. I was expecting that same quality that I had received before. No, wasnt close. The generals chicken breading tasted old. The crab ran-goo tasted like it had been sitting all day, and wast crispy at all. Soggy and oily...no. The Kungpow chicken was pretty good, but I found the texture a little slimy and not saucy. The soups were amazing still, which I was happy about. the chips dont taste the same either. They tasted stale...I wasnt really happy about this. Im not sure what happened but, my opinion on their food has dropped dramatically.

Came for lunch on a Saturday and both me and my gf came away unimpressed. Her General Tsos chicken was breaded heavily and mostly falling apart. My garlic chicken used some pretty tough strips of chicken, but overall the taste was good. Not a fan of the fried rice, either. There are some pluses though. The egg drop soup was quite good, and the egg roll that came with it was one of the best Ive had in town. Also the entire meal was 12 bucks, which is a steal unless you can get down to Oriental Inn for their specials (same prices but much better food overall).

Beef, vegetable, and shrimp dishes were very good, and the the service is not bad. For some reason, however, King Chef likes to overcook chicken. Its tough, dry, and way too chewy. They dont do much better with their pork. Id let it pass if it was just a bad night, but this is how its been the last three times weve eaten there. I think well go back to the Dragon House next time weve got the hankering for Chinese American food.

The food is good, the service is terrible. I love the food here. Every time I come the food is what keeps me coming back. That and for the most part it is a very tranquil place to eat. But the people working here are emotionless and dont really seem willing to go the extra mile with their customers. Theres no friendliness to the establishment, just quick quality food at a cheap price.

For what they do it is excellent. I see complaints of personality... food is very good quality, service prompt and courteous, facility is clean, they are reliable and timely. The atmosphere has something to be desired but it is tranquil and inviting overall. Great food, great price and timely service. Best Chinese food I have found in N Indy! They are friendly too.

This restaurant reminds me of the lotus garden my dad took us to when we were kids. It must be owned by family. Thats the kind of service you get. There is alot of attention to detail. Youll only get the best white meat in the chicken dishes for example. The prices are at or below what you would pay for a rot gut take out joint.

A pretty good place to get pretty good Chinese food. The food itself is probably not worthy of an entire four stars but the lunch specials are such an insane value (soup, eggroll, entree, fried rice) that I find myself stopping in here even when there are better options. They also provide hot tea which is a very nice touch.
