Had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but was so very disappointed. Our waiter was sweet but seemed overwhelmed and failed to put our dinner order in to the kitchen in a timely fashion by his own admission. Soups came out promptly (the lemon rice soup needs more lemon and the mushroom needs more flavor) but the meals were quite delayed. The meals were a huge disappointment... the corned beef and cabbage was incredibly overcooked. The corned beef was the toughest I have ever had and cabbage was mush. Both had little flavor. My husband ordered the roasted chicken which was also horribly overcooked and flavorless as was the stuffing and mashed potatoes. By this time we had spent at least an hour here and needed to get back on the road. The manager took half off each meal as they were mostly uneaten and gave us a slice of pie. While were glad to have not paid full price for a horrible meal, this is not a location that I can recommend.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and was astonished by the hotel to hear I had to pay $9 a person for breakfast on top of over $100 a night. So I decided on our last morning visiting my home town of Portage and watching a friend get married in Chesterton going to Round the Clock. The food was amazing. Not just because of taste but because of the selection. My fiancee and I had never had a breakfast quesadilla or a Italian breakfast wrap before so we each ordered one and split them in half so we could each try it. On top of the food the decor was very clean and reminded me of visiting my grandma and grandpa during long summers in Kansas. Very clean and kind. The service was also just that. Very kind well kept and quick to ask if everything was well. It was better than well, it was GREAT!

Garden Combo - Bowl of soup with a side salad, baked potato, and roll. The soup came in a cup and not a bowl. No loss there because it wasnt liked by anyone at the table. The soup was very thick, not really even warm and rather flavorless. Half way through the meal we had to ask to get our roll. When we got the roll it was cold and leathery. The baked potato was okay. The service was meh. We were checked on but none of the dishes were ever removed. I think she cared but was not competently trained. I hadnt been here in years because of my relocation. We have no desire to go back. Had I not been so hungry I hope I would have been smart enough to complain there.

Service was terrible. The wait was "two minutes", and we waited for twenty. When we asked the host about it, he sassed us. When we were finally seated, our waitress immediately asked for our drink orders. TSA agents are less harsh than this lady. We tried to lighten the mood by making jokes, the waitress immediately shut us down. She then continued to spill coffee on one of us and she came back 5 minutes later with a few napkins. She threw the napkins at him! It was a terrible experience overall and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone... Not even Donald Trump.

I always make it a point to go whenever I am in the area, and always leave with a smile. This is a 5 star restaurant as far as value and menu are concerned, where you always get service with a smile. Every time I go, I try something different, and am always left wanting more. One of the best restaurants in North West Indiana.

Visiting from out of town. Ordered food and a black coffee. The coffee came with a spoon, sugar, and the biggest lip stick residual you could ask for along with coffee drippings on the side. I hate to think what the kitchen looks like. Why would the waitress bring such a mess to me? No thanks. Never again!

We have been here 5 or 6 times. Their menu has a lot to choose from for both breakfast and lunch, including healthy options and some more unique items in addition to the usual breakfast foods. the portions are of good size and everything has tasted great. The servers always seem genuinely friendly.

The food was very good The battered cod melted in your mouth The side salad was of good size. My grandson had a pasta dish and the portion was very generous. We had a great meal. The price was good, the service very good, and the atmosphere was nice for a family. Wide menu selection too.

Waitress was friendly when she asked what drinks we wanted but that was it. Waited 10 minutes for hot sauce for husbands tasteless biscuits and gravy, dirt stuck to inside of water glass, very dried poop to back of bathroom stall. My egg, fruit, ham and hash browns where delicious.

I would consider this the gold standard because it is reliable and dependable. The food is solid and reasonably priced plus you know it will be open when all others are closed like the other day when the Cubs won the world series.

Service was great, though it was not a busy time (about 2:30 PM, Sunday). Comfortable temperature in the dining area. The biggest complaint is that our dinner rolls came hot, but turned out to be tough (not just crispy).

Whats not to love here. Breakfast is killer and if your in for lunch grab a Reuben! Service is great and I have never had a bad experience all the times Ive been there. Very kid friendly and great atmosphere.
