The good: incredible beer selection. The bad: Service (sometimes) I have been to The Tap a handful of times. I love the concept, I love the beers, and I want to go back...eventually. But, about a month ago I experienced one of the WORST servers ever. If I were to do this over again, I wouldve complained sooner, so I would advise other do that. I had one beer in a time span of nearly 1 hour and 45 mins. I was sitting outside, which might have made it more difficult. After sitting there for over an hour I decided it was a lost cause to be able to order more beer. So, I waited for my bill. And waited. And waited. Finally, I asked a different waitress to find mine. She searched the restaurant and couldnt find her. She was very polite and offered to get the manager. I explained to the manager the situation, showed proof that I had been there for that long, and shared my exasperation. She apologized and comped my drink. She and the other waitress understood my irritation and listened to me whine, which is saying a lot because it wasnt their fault. Because everyone else was so polite and I figure this was a freak incident, I am happy giving it 4 stars, and I have worked in food service and I know how tough some nights are...but the visit left a bad taste in my mouth.

Its our favorite spot in town. Always friendly service, busy or not. These guys are very knowledgeable about their beers, many seasonal beers and unique styles, brewed in house. Also an enormous selection in both bottles and drafts of beers from around the globe. This place does not have liquor and only a very small wine selection. Always clean bathrooms, the atmosphere is friendly and upscale professional, but not dressy. Theres trivia nights two nights a week. I feel comfortable coming here for sports games, just a beer anytime, bringing family and friends from out of town, meeting a date, etc. Good for many occasions.

We seen this place on FB and decided to give it a try . We had a party of 7 and we got there early in the evening to avoid a big crowd. Our waitress was very rude . She acted like we were a bother to her when all we wanted was our food and drinks refilled. It took almost two hours for our food . We asked to talk to a manager and she was right there to make things right . Paige is an amazing manager . She comped our meals and asked us to please come back and give it another try. The kindness of the manager would be the only reason we would go back .

I tried this place out while staying a night in Bloomington for work. I was expecting a typical college-town bar but this place really exceeded my expectations! The staff was so friendly and really made me feel welcome. The bartender offered samples of their craft beer to help me decide what I wanted. I was also impressed by the menu options and food quality. Every bar should strive to be like this place. They really created a memorable experience for me and I will definitely be back next time Im in the area.

Over 500 different types of beer and it stands out as being a classy location to drink in Bloomington. The variety in beer choices give folks a lot of options, they also have a rewards program if you are adventurous and aim to try every single beer in the house. There are awards and prizes as you accumulate points.

Probably the best bar downtown. Great beer, great food, knowledgeable bartenders, friendly staff. Live music starts later at night. Trivia is fun during the week. Go in and try some beers! Pre-game IU football with a great breakfast! This is the go-to bar for first dates, parents in town, night with the girls/guys.

Good selection of beers in an open and lively space. A bit hard to hear if you want to talk or watch the game on TV. Seems to be popular with a wide demographic. Lots of waitresses roaming around and youre never without a chance for a fresh glass. They put their beer cheese sauce on most everything, but it is good.

We had a very bad waitress and the manager, Paige, took wonderful care of us. We will definitely be back!! The food was sooo good and the boys loved the beer. All the other staff was nice and friendly. Thank you Paige for taking such good care of us. You are a wonderful manager!!!

One of my favorite places to go in Bloomington in the afternoon when Im in town. They have the biggest beer selection, its nice and open so you can get fresh air while being inside, and you can buy local art there. Seriously check this place out, its awesome!

I am currently at the Tap actually and have been waiting over an hour for my food. Understandable on a Friday night, however, our server handled it very poorly. Will NOT be going back. Saw other tables get their food and finish who showed up after us. BRUTAL!!!!

Great food, great beer, amazing service. They have an impressive beer selection and the food is wonderful. I have never had a meal here that I didnt enjoy thoroughly. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The beer available here is absolutely astonishing. The environment is more that of a high class restaurant rather than a bar and the quality extrudes through out every facet. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and have great tastes.

First time Ive been since it has opened a kitchen, and it was awesome. Fries were really good, mac and cheese was amazing. The burbon bacon jam burger was good but over hyped. I cant wait to go back and try some other dishes.

Great food and beer! Im not a avid lover, but I can always find a brew that I find pleasing. The food is fantastic! Smaller plates, so if youre a "big eater" you may have to have an appetizer to start!

Fantastic beer selection. House brewed beers were VERY good. Only got the tap fries to eat, but they were very good. Will definitely return as this is one of the top craft beer spots in bloomington.

A nice change from the typical college town beer selection of Bud and Miller Light. Good variety of domestic and international beer. TVs and live music were an added bonus.
