Id been trying to get in touch with Serendipity for several days to make a reservation for this evening, but never got a call back for the messages Id left. I finally reached someone, told them we wanted to reserve a table for twelve at 9:30 tonight, and was told "that wouldnt be any problem." I arrived at 9:25 pm to find the door locked. I finally got someone to come downstairs and open the door for me. He said "We decided to close early." I reminded him that Id called to make a reservation, and that I had gone to considerable effort to do so. He shrugged and walked away. Well, lesson learned. I cant imagine how you stay in business with this kind of behavior, but at least I know better now.

Seems classy but there were fruit flies in my old fashioned first of all. Second of all, the bartender told me his card reader was broken so he could only accept cash, which wS a lie because I saw at least five open tabs on cards and he was accepting cards from other customers. This is the second time Ive gone and both times the live music was awful and at first I contributed it to being just a terrible band but the second time I know the group is quite good as Ive heard them other places but the sound system was just so bad. This place has potential but is definitely not worth going to and spending that kind of money at in its current state.

Went because I was excited to have a martini bar that claimed to be legitimate. I was bummed about it. I liked the atmosphere but the martinis sucked. They advertised half price martinis the night we went and then had no idea about it when we got there. I ended up ordering a dirty vodka martini and was given a gin martini that was luke warm. The food was overpriced and reminiscent of a nearby microwave. I think maybe with time it will get better but I dont know if Ill be going back soon. I didnt order a fancy martini and maybe thats why it was lackluster...but then again..if you cant get the classic right, what can you do?

Was my first time there on Saturday night and it was Salsa night. I was surprised how packed the place was for it being the summer time. There was a small but friendly staff that were quick to find us a seat and get us a drink. Bartender made me a drink called a city god that was amazing!! I was with a group of 10 people that were also very pleased with there drinks. I am so happy we found this underground upscale martini bar here in Bloomington. I will definitely be back soon.

Went to Serendipity for the first time on a Monday because it was half priced martinis. However, the bartender left for an extended period of time and came back after the special had ended and charged us full price for our drinks. Could have been a decent experience, but I was very dissappointed at the bartenders decision even after telling him we were first-time customers. Will not be going back.

The drinks we had were ok I guess; however, they were out of dry vermouth which is ridiculous. They also substituted Bulleitt for Basil Haydens which is a no-no. Almost no savory martini options. Sleepy and depressing, dont look for this establishment to remain open for more than another year.

Nice atmosphere. Was too late for drinks. Went for the Saturday Latin night and was hugely disappointed. The sound system was barely audible. The DJ only plays Mexican music which sucked as there was a huge crowd that danced salsa, merengue and bachata which he clearly wasnt catering to.

In a town filled with subpar bars and undergrads to go with them, its hard to find a well-crafted martini. But Serendipity doesnt disappoint! The City of God martini is wonderful, and their dirty martini is wonderful! We found a new "place"!

Dont go. They dont accept cards anymore and the ATM they have doesnt work and their only advice is to walk down the street to a bank that charges fees. Was a nice place now its full of trash.

Simple upscale bar with amazing drinks and phenomenal live music. Prices are stiff but so are the drinks. The music and nightlife alone are worth the trip.
