This was the absolute worst dining experience that I have had in a very long time. I took my family out for what I hoped would be a special dinner in honor of my daughters graduation. The restaurant was very hot and very loud. Additionally, the portions were so small and of such poor quality that we had to stop for more food after we left. The salmon was so overcooked and dry that it was inedible and the spinach and polenta it came with tasted terrible. The chicken was far undercooked. The service was possibly the worst part. I ordered a bottle of champagne and the waitress spilled it on my son (and still charged us for it). We couldnt get a glass of water if our table was on fire. The "food" took 45 minutes to arrive and that was the first time that we had seen the waitress in roughly 25 minutes. I guess the mandatory 20% tip meant that she could ignore us. The waitress also took her tip after-tax and including the champagne that we ordered. Our meal cost almost $400 (for 6 of us) and thats not including the cost of the fast food that we stopped for after our meal.

This was our last ever visit to Truffles. The food remains good, especially the appetizers, and it is still a good place to go for a drink but, overall, the service was so slow that it turned the whole experience into a bad one. Let me put simply that the food took at least 30 minutes longer than anyone could expect, and people who arrived after us got their orders faster. Other had told me that the services had become very bad but unfortunately I dismissed their concerns. I am not going back there except for drinks, but never again for dinner.

Truffles is an expensive restaurant with well-seasoned, tasty food but their menu hasnt changed in several years. When compared to Tallent, Farm or other fine dining establishments, Truffles is behind the curve. The others have seasonal menus and are always coming up with new tastes and new ideas. Truffles has gotten boring and although I like the food a lot, I dont go back that often. Also, how is there a business being run in the 21 century without a website? Come on friends, modernize and be creative! I hope youll draw me back.

Despite the subdued appearance and location, this restaurant truly is a neighborhood gem. The bar and wine selections are outstanding, the food is excellent and among the best you can find in Bloomington. Mark (owner) is very personable and extremely friendly. It is always a pleasure to go back to Truffles. Note: ask to be put on their mailing list to be notified about wine tasting dinners (or check their Facebook page)

yesterday afternoon I told a friend I was taking my wife to Truffles for dinner - "good place," I told him, "almost as good as Tallent". Unfortunately, our dinner was mediocre at best - overly sweet scallops appetizer, overly sauced mussells appetizer, almost tasteless [but very large] lamb shank entrees. It would seem that the excellent cook they once had has moved on

Wonderful food and service. The best part is the bar menu which offers a full range of salads, soups and entrees, most for under $10.00. Many nights of the week Truffles offers specials on thier wonderful wine selection. They also make a great gin gibson...Upscale dining with options for everyday dining.

Loved the martini, fish tacos and veg special. Truffles is a Bloomington gem. Yet you wouldnt suspect such great food and service next to Krogers strip mall. Highly recommend.

Excellent restaurant with an open dining room but intimate feel. All the food and the service are always excellent. Prices are a bit expensive but worth it.

A little overpriced for the quality.
