I love Malibu Grill, every time! Its easily my favorite restaurant in Bloomington (and I love eating out). Great food options at a decent price. The steaks are good - skip the medallions. The smoked fish appetizer is my absolute favorite - and you get a lot! The salmon salad is really good for a healthy/cheaper option. The crab soup is good (not sure if they still have it). Friends who got the spicy pizza said skip it - just that it wasnt anything special. Pasta dishes are decent. Ive eaten there a lot and cant think of anything bad on the menu. The drinks are good - a mix of traditional and somewhat creative cocktails. Atmosphere is spot on, and theres often live music on the grand piano. Really, a great destination for any reason: just a drink with friends, a romantic dinner for two, or a large group (Ive had a group of 12 there for dinner, during graduation weekend, and it ran smoothly)! Love you Malibu

Ordered the Sweet Potato Fries, Salmon Oscar (house special), an Apple Martini and Créme Brûlée. The martini lacked Gin and barely tasted of apple, but the server was good to have that rectified by adding more Gin to it. Still didnt taste like an Apple Martini, however. Everything else was nice - some wonderful, some worse than. The sweet potato fries with Mayo were decent (flavourful but very heavy). The Salmon Oscar was presented beautifully, and the crab meat, asparagus, and salmon itself tasted superb, but unfortunately their portions were too small to fill me up adequately, which I suppose was their intention; I ordered dessert, the créme brûlée, and it looked stunning, but the pudding was sadly too cold and lumpy to be savoured as much as one would hope to. The overall bill before tip - Around $52.

I went there on my lunch break i have 1 hour. I get seated quickly and had a pleasant conversation with the hostess. I waited several minutes for my server to greet me and take my drink order. Waited a few minutes for my drink, then several more for him to take my order. Once he had my order in he remembered i was to have bread, it tasted like it was at least a day old. Finally my food arrived by then most of my time was over about 40 minutes at least. It only had taken me 3-4 minutes to get there. The food tasted okay, i had the sweet potato fries and fish sandwich. It cost me with my soda a little over $20 i gave only $2 for the tip. Service was not great and for the price i would expect enough food that i would have leftovers but i didnt. I will not go back.

Brought a date to Malibu Grill on a very busy Friday night, although a wait was at the door, that is expected for ANY great restaurant on a Friday. We were politely told it would be about 15 minutes before we were sat, as promised 15 minutes later we were in the dining room ordering drinks. Great cocktail menu and friendly service. Food was GREAT and manager Nikolai was outgoing and made sure we were taken care of to the highest standard. Steaks were the best I have had in town! Have already been back and will continue to return.

Timely service, calm atmosphere, the food was very tasty and presented well (appetizer, drinks, soup, and entrees), our server was very nice, and the manager was out and about the whole time we were there and asked us how our food was. The food was a little pricey but all the rest makes up for that! All these things should be a given at any restaurant but have become extremely rare in our experience. We will definitely return to Malibu Grill.

This is the classic special "date night" restaurant in Bloomington. Youll see numerous college-aged couples dining here regularly. The food is good, albeit overpriced. However, this is one of the only "nice" restaurants in Bloomington, so thats to be expected. Ive had the filet here, medium well, and it was well-cooked. I recommend this place, but dont come here thinking itll be like a big city steakhouse.

Excellent food in an upscale but cozy decor. Service is friendly but can be sluggish. The crab cakes are good, but the crab bisque was divine. The pizza and pork chops were very good. The menu is a little limited but has a solid variety. Prices are steep but the food is very fancy. The kid options were limited but worked for us. Also they offer a $0.99 sundae for the kids that they really enjoyed.

We decided to visit the Malibu Grill based on its website while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and was more than satisfied. They treated us kindly when we came in and enjoyed the best food in Bloomington. I had the Neptune Steak and my wife had the Lime tequila fettuccine and both were to die for! We will be back again from Cincinnati. Thank you Malibu Grill on my anniversary.

microwaved penne in olive oil instead of sauce. Not to mention the endless parade of waiters absentmindedly patrolling the dining room was maddening. I cant describe it, but it felt like being in the cafeteria of a prison. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing on the menu, but if its that bad, why is it on the menu?

The food has its moments but the menu is generally just overpriced dreck. The steak chimichurri was passable in many respects, but Wusabi Mashed Potatos? Pie wedges (wtf) of "rare" (overcooked, dry) tuna, Flavorless soubise. Speaks for itself. You can do better, even in Indiana.

Everyone feels like a VIP when at the Malibu Grill. JB and the entire staff are always exceptional and extremely friendly. Best fish tacos in the midwest and excellent cocktails are among only a few of the things they do superbly. One of Bloomingtons gems!

Ordered a salad and was given literally 2 leaves of iceberg lettuce and 4 croutons. It took 2 hours to get my order and the entire tables check was screwed up and there were several double charges. Service was slow and very sub-par. Highly do not recommend.

I have had dinner at Malibu Grill and have been happy both times. The menu is extensive and there is definitely something for everyone. It also has a large cocktail menu. The service was great one time and average the other, but certainly not bad.

Our waiter was insanely rude. The manager treated my table like dogs. A man vomited 5 feet from our table and we were not offered to move. My appitizer came at the end of the meal. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had.

A little pricey but overall always good food! The filet min yon, potatoes and asparagus are amazing! Try to avoid the restaurant during any IU sporting events as it get very busy.

Went there on graduation weekend, and it was loud, but the food and service were excellent - and thats saying something given the weekend and the fact that we were party of 12

The food is reliably solid but the bar service is angry and slow. Gave me the wrong bill and were rude when I asked to pay my own actual bill. Avoid for a pleasant night out.
