My husband and I started going to the Old Mill just this last winter ( 2008). I was not sure what to expect because reviews I read had unfriendly in most of them. I must say after going there only 3 times we were called by our first name and the owners are very reseptive. We have had the fish fry on Friday , its not all you can eat, but the plate full of Cod is plenty , very good eating. My favorite is the New York Strip Stake along with the Lobster Tail add on. I always take home half because it is so large. This has to be one of my favorite restarants in the area. If you are looking for good food and friendly people this is your place.

My husband and I had dinner there this past weekend. If the service had been any slower it would have gone backward. They were busy, but at most of the tables the dinners had been served. We ordered a drink - sandwiches - dessert. We were there for TWO HOURS. We had to ask the poor busboy for a box and dessert menu. The waitress would disappear and not show up for another 15-20 minutes. I dont know if she was the problem, or part of the problem but GOOD LORD we were disappointed in our experience of a place that came highly recommended. Dont know if well be back to try again another night.

Lovely, very charming gem for locals. A hidden treasure. Not a "city" restaurant. Plan for an evening ... Yes, the service is laid back; but they provide a quaint, romantic feel, the value of which at the end of a long work day is sadly unknown to too many places these days. Excellent for dinner in the gloaming sun, with placid country views over dales and running water. Perfect for a date or intimate evening with family or friends.

Surprisingly terrific! My husband and I have lived in the area all our lives and never took the time to try this restaurant. Im glad we did! If you go on Thursdays you get a crudites -- who does that anymore except supper clubs in Wisconsin! Barb is the best... the food is terrific. Were heading there tonight for St. Patricks Day... cant wait. We may become regulars in no time.

Dont come here if youre over 21 and still have your vertical ID.. they wouldnt serve me a glass of wine because my ID was vertical, even though I turned 21 well over a year ago. I will not be returning, even after I have my ID changed over to horizontal. What kind of logic is that?!? The outside area before walking inside was also SWARMING with gnats. Gross. Not impressed.

We went last weekend. They were out of prime rib. The salad was a few lettuce leaves and a tomato slice, and the beer was warm. The bread was dry and Margarine was served with it. We have been here in the past and really enjoyed it. But something was off on that night.

This place was great! So surprised to find halibut cheeks in Wonder Lake. Overall the menu was more sophisticated that I expected and our entrees were a great value. We had a charming server named Barbara and really good bread pudding for dessert. Will definitely go back.

I would go here monthly with my in-laws in the 90s. Its not the same. Portions smaller and not as good. I miss the plate of veggies before hand. Barb was great.
