This place has exploded in popularity over the last few years. Now, at the end of 2015, its almost always standing room only while waiting for your table, and its definitely worth the wait. They are limited in space by the size of the building, but theyve done what they can to offer more table space- they took out the counter that held the cash register, they introduced outdoor seating and then expanded the outdoor seating), and theyve moved some parking around to accommodate lucky dining-right-now diners, or the slightly less lucky waiting-to-dine diners. Sometimes, your best option is to order it to go. Hope youre super hungry, because the portions are MUCH larger than the price would suggest. Grab some extra napkins, thank me later. The staff is always very friendly, and some of them are rather playful when I attempt to communicate in Spanish; a couple have taken the time to correct my poor attempts at speaking their native language, in a friendly, polite, helpful way. Overall, its pretty obvious that the owners and the staff truly care about offering a great experience for a much better than fair price; business growth like theyve experienced doesnt just happen by accident. If youre in the mood for delicious, authentic Mexican food, which will provide you leftovers for at least the next day, if not two, then Huaraches Moroleon is absolutely where you need to be. Enjoy!

This place looks a little like a hole in the wall, and people new to the area might hesitate to try it out if they saw it - which they might not because its in a strange location. However, its excellent Mexican fare at a reasonable price. My favorite is the plain tacos on soft corn tortillas with chicken. They only use cilantro, chopped onion and your choice of meat on these tacos, but its so fresh and simple for me its hard to beat. I take my family here from time to time and they enjoy the burras and the deluxe tacos. Youll know its not just me that thinks this place is good, because if you drive by even close to lunch or dinner, its packed. I suggest ordering takeout, because the place isnt huge and you really have to get there at just the right time to find a seat. Ive tried their breakfast, which is actually quite extensive, once, and I enjoyed it. But its also huge, and Im not much of a big breakfast eater so Im rarely in the mood for a massive breakfast burrito early in the morning. But it was tasty. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Mexican food.

Huaraches Moroleon is very well-rated on the rest of the web, so Im not sure why Google doesnt have any reviews. Ah well. The huaraches are fantastic. I got vegetarian (needed salt) and my husband got asada, and both were delicious and very obviously made from scratch. Other reviews talked about the chips and salsa, and guac, and fajitas... The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall in a residential area. We were intimidated by the tiny, empty dining room so we got takeout, but next time I think well try dining in. There will definitely be a next time!

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. The building isnt as nice and the location isnt as good as some other places in Urbana-Champaign, but the food and service are amazing. Whenever friends or family visit me, this is a place that I make sure to take them. The prices and portions are also very reasonable and you will not leave hungry. I do kind of miss their old menus because I found them to be easier to read to find and try new things. However, the new menus do have more, and better, pictures.

This is the one place I always recommend when people want a Mexican place to visit in town. The food is served with gigantic proportions and is very authentic. The drinks are spectacular and usually come with one refill, which is great as you get to enjoy the drink by itself and then with your meal (the authentic drinks, the fountains come with unlimited refills). Its a small place, so arrive expecting to wait for seating. The desserts are surprisingly good and fun.

Driving home from a KY Graduation, stopped for lunch and we are so glad we stopped! Spectacular food. Carnitas plate and ranchero burrito were both wonderful!!! As others said, it is a little hole in the wall but you wont be sorry you stopped. Very friendly ppeople and the salsa served with the chips were unbelievable! The white one is mind numbing hot. Just the way we like it.

was ok, not fantastic.. chips very thick and quite greasy. dip too hot. the mild one was too bland. huaraches azteca had way too many beans in it and was quite bland. but at least it was not too salty or greasy. my friend complained about too many beans in the burritos.went back aug 2015 and the taco supreme were good. service is slow and they were out of glasses

They were busy but they had room for the two of us. Service was prompt and efficient. Their margaritas are tasty and strong. I had the ground beef tacos. The two tacos I had were very filling, a perfect meal. I would recommend this nice little restaurant to anyone, regardless of whether they are fans of Mexican food or just trying it for the first time.

Everything about Huaraches Moroleon is excellent: food, drinks, service, and (for me, at least), location. The helpful and very friendly staff steered me in the direction of Huaraches Azteca, which turned out to be what is now my favorite thing to eat at my new favorite place to eat. You should go there.

Working in Houston TX, Im always a little skeptical of finding good Mexican food the further North I go. This place is a gem. Doesnt look like much from the outside, but for some reason the most unassuming places are usually the best. The food here is amazing. I will definitely be coming again.

My family loves the food and atmosphere - we feel both at home and like were at at an exotic friends home. The food is fresh, generous and unique, and they have beer and margaritas :) The prices are very reasonable, and they are expanding the dining area which will make it even more festive!

Looks can be deceiving, but dont let it fool you. I have always been reluctant to eat there, although I noticed it has always been packed every time I drove past it. After reading many great reviews, curiosity got the best of me and I had to try it, it is now my favorite mexican restaurant.

The best Mexican food within a hundred miles. They serve the authentic Mexican dishes such as sopes, pozole and of course huaraches. Great size portions at a fair price and a great selection of tequila. Homemade tortilla chips and three different sauces that are all fabulous.

ONLY Authentic Mexican food in Champain-Urbana. Everything we had was awesome especially the tasty menudo! Outstanding service in spite of it being a popular place. A bit small...if they expanded it would be full. Im going back every time I visit my child at U of I.
