Ordered the sashimi sampler and hibachi combination entree (NY steak and calamari). The sashimi was normal, decent slices of fish. The entree came with a small soup and salad, fried rice, a few fried veggies. The salad was a simple iceberg lettuce with a ginger sauce, no complaints. The soup was a very salty, soy sauce base with a few slices of mushroom. The NY steak was cooked nice and tender (we asked for rare) but the calamari was unbelievable salty. When I told the waiter, he said it might be too much teriyaki sauce and asked if I wanted a bowl of water to rinse it off. The salt level of the calamari felt like it had been marinated in salt water. The portion size of the entree is not worth $23 - youre just paying for the show. Unfortunately for us, we didnt sit next to the hibachi grill. I dont usually complain, but I was expecting good food from all the high ratings and this was not a pleasant meal.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I have been a sushi lover for a long time and i can say i have tried many sushi spots located all throughout the Chicagoland and hands down this place is the best. The service is great the place is cute and the food is an ADDICTION!!!!! The maki rolls are HUGE and they are reasonably priced... I can honestly say i have never been this full from any kind of maki rolls except here at Aodake. I recently moved to the city and hate the fact that their locations are so far.... maybe in the future there will be one Downtown also. They give you coupons for free appetizers i love it because i come here so often... I do have to say the romeoville location is much nicer and bigger while the location in Darien is in a strip-mall hidden away and not as nice setup. Best sushi ever!!!! My fav maki roll there= Godzilla roll

I worked in this restaurants for 2 days I saw the workers put the salads and dressing on the table not in the refrigerator, the table are dirty when theyre busy the table like someone robbery there. The workers use hand to get anything to the customer like ice , they use hand to get the ice into the cup I was say why are you doing like it , they told me is ok the customer they not know about it . The workers used hand to get the salads too I was upset. The table plate dirty they just use the wet towel to clean not put in to the dishwasher. Even workers sick still working. Than will get the customers sick too . I would tall customers dont go there even they give you $30 discount if you when there get bed sick that cost more then $30 . Thats what I am working there and saw them how to doing in the restaurant. I got upset about it .

Terrible outcome this weekend! We normally go here twice a month and love their hibachi and sushi. Went last night for my sisters birthday, which apparently was the first day of people using their groupon. Huge mistake! Our service was beyond awful. The waitress spilled and broke a soda glass on my niece. There was glass shattered everywhere. The hibachi chef hardly interacted with us, and forgot half of our order. Slopped somr golden sauce on the lobster, when it was already seasoned and on the plate, forgot rice, drinks etc. When it was all said and done, the owner ( lady in the front) didnt even apologize or compensate anything for us. When we spoke with her she mentioned, oh its our first day of groupon. We didnt use a groupon. Definatley never going back as our business is unappreciated.

Purchased a groupon for Aodake Sush and Steakhouse in Romeoville, IL. Complete waste of money. At most hibachi restaurants, we would get a "show" by the chef; not here. My party consisted of myself and two ten year old girls. I ordered the children two kids steaks and the server insisted I did not specify kids when I clearly did, therefore charging me $22 per kids meal. I complained to the assistant manager who refused to do anything after he told me he would discount my bill (which he didnt) and further told me now I had plenty of leftovers. I am a business owner and and am appalled at their awful customer service.

The food and drinks were good but sadly for me I have to rate this a two star. The couple next to us was told they could not use their Groupon because another couple at the table had used one and only one per party could be used, but we all had paid separately and didnt know each other; the manager came out and said it didnt matter because we were all at the same table and thats policy. I completely disagree with this approach and am very upset that it ruined someones night. I will not be returning after this cringe-inducing display of management.

It was very disappointing. The dinner does not come with noodles like the other hibachi restaurants. They also put teriyaki sauce on all of the meat and do not ask you first like they do at other restaurants. They seemed annoyed at the fact that we didnt want the sauce and had to remake our chicken. The service is also incredible slow. We waited for over 20 minutes at the table before they brought us our soup. On a positive note, the chef was exceptionally entertaining and the food was great once it was made without the teriyaki.

Rude-lying-stay away Dont sit in party room. This is the only place without AC. Also, if you use any kind of coupon deal ask all employees how and when you can use it because all will tell you different answer. Dont ask for cutting the cake because they will forget about it. Watch out for their unexperienced cooks. they dont know how to count to ten and cant divide ordered food for 10 people, they rather choose to feed 8 of them and the rest will eat burnt black pasta. Dont ask for refund. Stay away!!!

Ive never been very satisfied with the sushi Ive had in the western and southwestern suburbs, until now. Aodake is really, really good. Every time Ive been there the sushi was always fresh. My wife and I especially liked their rainbow maki special. They also have a real deal on Sat and Sundays called happy hour where the sushi is a lot cheaper. Oh, almost forgot the service is excellent as well, though many servers are recent immigrants they often have good suggestions on what to try. Enjoy!

Rockin’ hibachi grill! I could eat there every day. I have been there over 10 times and have to say I only had poor service once & it was because it was some new girl. Everyone at our table had some laughs over it and the owner (manager or whoever) actually came out and made things right. So they’re alright by me! Can’t leave there without the fried green tea ice cream dude!!! (I don’t do sushi, so I don’t know about that, I’m just a hibachi guy. I like my food cooked!)

I have lunch here once per week. If I dont I feel like my life has gone off track. Seriously good food. Im particularly fond of their tuna roll, gyoza, and miso. Update: Nine months after my original review. Lunch here has been a weekly routine for nearly two years standing. When its good its great and when its bad its still pretty good. I hear lots of horror stories about people getting sick eating sushi but Ive never had any issues here.
