THE BEST SUSHI IN CHAMPAIGN! I have tried almost all of the sushi places in champaign, and none of them come even close to Sushi Kame. We started off with edamame which was fresh and just the right amount of salt. We ordered three different types of rolls: Tempura California, Philadelphia and Volcano. To our surprise we recieved Miso soup and a small noodle salad too. The miso soup was by far the best and most comforting miso I have ever tried. The noodle salad was refreshing and perfect right before chowing down on some delicious sushi. All three sushi rolls were extremely fresh, and absolutely delicious. Our favorite was definitely the Volcano, which had just the right amount of heat and crunch. If you think dollar sushi is a good deal, you are crazy. For everything we ate (edamame, miso soup, noodle salad, and 23 pieces of sushi) our bill was $23.60. I will never go anywhere else for sushi. I am forever endebted to you, Sushi Kame. Thank you so much!

Hopping on the bandwagon to say this is the best sushi in town. Very attentive staff, delicious and beautiful food, nice atmosphere. Plenty of vegetarian and even vegan options, and lots of non-sushi options as well. You get an oshibori (hot or cold hand towel) before you eat, then cold noodle salad and miso as free appetizers. My only slight gripes would be the bathroom situation is kind of weird, but thats excusable as its in an old building and they probably cant change it, and sometimes on slower nights they close nearly an hour before their posted closing hours, so dont try to go last minute. The food is fantastic, if I had to eat food from only one restaurant, this would be it. I recommend the A.A.C. roll and the Sweet Potato roll.

I love this place! Its casual, but high quality and inexpensive food, as far as normal sushi places go. They have a good selection of wines, beers, and sakes, and I love mixing and matching sushi plates. Try the Bento boxes. It comes with tempura fried veggies and shrimp, a main teriyaki mix (I prefer the calamari), a salad with an amazing ginger dressing, California rolls, and, of course, rice. The best deal is during lunch, but its still a great price for dinner. Never fails to fill me up (even though I stuff myself with sushi and sashimi, too). I recommend this place to every one, because even if you dont like sushi, you can find something to good to eat.

Excellent entrees, sides, and appetizers. The sashimi/nigiri was excellent. However, the sushi rolls were really disappointing. The texture of the rice was very chewy and the amount of goodies (fish, veggies, etc) in the rolls was only a little. That said, if you want really fresh and carefully seasoned food, come here! The sushi wasnt great but everything else was amazing. All the produce used was fresh, not frozen, and all the sauces and marinades were to die for. Lunch time bento boxes are such a great deal! Number one sushi place in Champaign is still Sakanaya in my books.

I feel like this is a bunch of friends and family rating this place. TripAdvisor has great reviews too...but the place is not great. It does not appear clean inside, and the pricing is too high. The food may be excellent, I wouldnt know because I stood near the entrance way for 5 minutes before taking a seat myself; then waiting for another 5 in that seat before leaving without so much as a greeting. Either my experience was a one-off or these reviews are not genuine.

I love this place. When it comes to sushi, you think of how expensive it is. Its part of the territory and you come to expect sushi to not be cheap. Sushi Kame is very reasonably priced for sushi. Not to mention, the atmosphere is very nice; theres not TVs on the walls blaring, can see your chef making the sushi and overall, its a very quiet setting. i drive 45 minutes to eat here whenever im wanting sushi. highly recommend this place.

This is my favorite place for sushi here in town. Prices are comparable to the rest of the sushi joints around town and at one point (not sure if they still do now, its been a while) they would serve hot towels before your meal as well as hot miso soup and a small noodle salad with cucumber. The fish is always fresh and the rice makes the sushi. Good for large groups but you may wish to call ahead of time.

Probably one of the worst sushi restaurants Ive ever been to. The food is below average and WAY overpriced. I came with a friend and we each ordered two rolls. They took 1 hour and 35 minutes just to bring out the food, which was terrible! The server took 15 min just to greet us. I would never return here or recommend this place to anyone. Not sure how they are even in business what a joke.

This is my favorite sushi place in town (and I have been to plenty of sushi places in town lol). You get your moneys worth. It is very affordable and the food is delicious. When I first went there I didnt realize it was next to the Art Theater because it looks so shady, but once you get inside its very clean. If you havent eaten here, do it.

The staff is friendly, and the menu has a nice layout. Fresh, yummy sushi with many different variations. Most recently I had the shrimp-fried rice with katsu-don. The amount of shrimp in the rice was generous, and the crunchy fried pork was delicious with the onions, egg, and noodles. One of my favorite places to get sushi downtown.

So, based on the other reviews here, I checked this place out. I dont know where they are all going but this is probably the most expensive sushi place Ive ever been to. The portions are small as well. One of the two roll orders was quite good, the service was ok; but for the price Id say this place is way overrated.

We loooove Sushi Kame! It is always nice and quiet.the food is all very good. They have tons of different rolls. Great lunch menu. Good bento boxes. Big portions. Low prices. Very nice service. Overall it is such a great restaurant. We keep trying other sushi places in town but Kame is still the best all around.

One of the better dining establishments in the C-U. For sushi and related cuisine, this is reasonably priced. Its an excellent place for a date, relaxing pace of service with a decent sake/wine menu. Call ahead and you can even reserve the "romantic" table by the window.

I had the bento box lunch special with calamari teriyaki and WOW it was really good. Also shared a vegetable sushi roll with the table - a bit disappointed for the lack of flavor and size, even for one person. Will definitely come back for lunch again!

We waited for 10 mins to be seated while two waitresses passed by us. We waited for ever to get menu card and when we started leaving, a waitress who seated us passed by but didnt bother to even ask why we were leaving. Very pathetic treatment.

After meaning to get in here for ages, I finally did and was not disappointed! The waitstaff was friendly and the food was great and at the right price. Skipped sushi this time but was very impressed with my the Gyu-don that I ordered.

Ive come here once every two weeks with my gf for three years. Ive had sushi all over, and nothing can stack up against Sushi Kame. Try the LoveLove, SakeBomb and Caterpillar rolls with the seaweed salad. SO GOOD.
