If you think this is good, youve never been anywhere else. Bartender skill: Mediocre at best. College kids? They know to use the low-grade shelf alcohol when mixing a drink (improperly) Wait staff: Theyre great when theyre not busy. Past 8pm expect to go to the bar to get your own stuff. Theyre usually college girls with little to no experience waiting on people, aside from flirting, and the place gets really packed no matter what the night. Price: Average. Ive had cheaper drinks at dive bars and more expensive at the upper class joints. If all you drink is domestic then its about the same when compared to the others.

This a classic spot for college and townies to congregate and have fun. This bar has its advantages and disadvantages though. The positives is the atmosphere. Its a lively place and beware of Wednesday night as it may be impossible to get drinks if youre not proactive with the bartenders. The food is a bust or success. During the day its alright and others its not. Disadvantages is the service. Sometimes the bartenders notice you and wont ask you what you want and skip to others in the area. Make sure to be polite, but persistent in your attempts to get a drink.

Literally any other bar is better. A stereotypical college bar with crappy over priced drinks. Full of over intoxicated college students who have no semblance of self control. And to top it all off if you pay for the cheap take home "keeper cups" the so called security will berate/attack you as a theif that is taking their garbage plastic cups. Their are cheaper and better quality bars within walking distance, dont waste your time here.

This is your pretty standard college bar. Its loud and usually busy. The food is solid and the beer selection is good. However the wait staff is clearly hired for looks over service. Getting our food or drinks in a timely manner doesnt seem to be a priority. If youre a college kid, youll probably dig it here. If youre looking for conversation or attentive wait staff, Id suggest going elsewhere.

This review is mostly for the food. As a bar its not my thing. Used to be when I was in college but now its not that good. I dont like going here for the most part but they do have some food thats enjoyable when you are looking for that greasy fried bar food. If I do go its during the week preferably when school is out. The fried cauliflower bites are one of my favorite things.

Do you call all of your friends "bro" or "broski?" If not, then you probably wont have a fun time at Pub II. Its just a lousy place is every way a restaurant/bar can be lousy. Even as a pedestrian wlaking by, youll have a worse time if you run across people leaving Pub II. Bad scene, steer clear- Maggies down the street is nice, and so is the Firehouse.

Came here on a Tuesday because I was told that their fried cheese balls are highly rated so of course I needed to see for myself! Turns out everyone was right!! Tasted like everything I could imagine from fried cheese and I was pleasantly surprised with how good of service they have even on a Tuesday! Great job Pub II I will be back again.

Went here for an alumni gathering. It was the first time I went. The place is a college dive bar and nothing more. Good beer specials if you dont mind drinking Bud Lite (I never drink Bud Lite if I can help it.) But we rented a room in the back, which was pretty nice. Food is typical bar food. Nothing amazing.

The food is pretty good for lunch, but I wouldnt bother for dinner. Ive had the steak sandwich a few times and it was pretty good. The atmosphere is a little... sticky. It definitely gets rowdy, too. If you want to watch sports, especially ISU sports, its not a bad option. Good drink specials on cheap beer.

Food is good, but it comes out warm. Not very hot, terrible at balancing the times to cook each part of a dish, so youll know what the order was waiting on before it goes out. Everything else on the plate has cooled down. They also take forever to bring your check, and is overpriced when it finally comes.

Slow service, food nasty, bouncers think they are god, let underage girls in and pay workers under the table. A disgrace to american society. Full of perv construction workers and frat kids whos mommy buys them everything. Good place to catch a std and be treated badly by staff

The Pub (dont say the 2 to sound more like a local) is a BloNo institution. Cheap beer is cheap, the place is usually packed especially on Wednesday. The food is edible at best except for the cheese balls which are great. Quintessential college bar for fun.

So for me it depends on when you go. For Lunch: 4 star; good pub fare food, and good prices, wait staff is friendly. Evening: 2 star; food is just as good as lunch, but wait staff is overworked and youre lucky if you get helped in a decent amount of time.

Beers and Shots in 70s temperature outside in beer garden, always you will feel incredible doing that. Enjoying the weather, and drinking with friends. Nice music, drinks reasonable prices, I would love to go there. Its in Normal downtown close to school.

Food was good, good atmosphere to catch a game, waitress was slow and as unfriendly as possible. Messed my order up, no big deal. Brought it to her attention politely and she insisted that was what I ordered. No apology, no offer to correct. Boooo.

Ive had mixed experiences here. sometimes Ive been completely ignored by wait staff when the place was pretty dead other times its just fine. food has always been good especially the cheese balls. beer specials are reasonable.

Nice place for drinks and food. Service is good. Place gets really packed during the school year even if it isnt a game day. Could be a bit cleaner. They place is pretty well known around town and is basically a landmark.

Its a bar. The pepper jack nuggets are awesome but the bar food is mediocre. We had the turkey panini and a bacon blue burger...eh, might have tasted better had we had much more to drink. $30 = 1 app, 2 sand, 1 Strongbow.

They have tasty cheddar/pepper jack cheese balls, burgers, and beer! There is a ton of room also a bar inside and out. Pub II is the perfect place to get lunch on a nice day.
