This was my third and last visit to the White Lion Pub. Upon entering we stood at the front door for a full five minutes before we were acknowledged and the hostess pointed to a table in the adjacent room. We took our seats and waited another ten to fifteen minutes before we finally flagged down our waiter. We placed our order starting with a cheese and chips appetizer (4 small wedges of cheese, about 10 crackers and a couple of pats of butter for $7.95). When the waiter brought the appetizer, we had to ask for silverware and napkins. The waiter told us they were washing the silver. By the time we received the utensils we were finished with the appetizer. After waiting for over a half hour after placing our order, I asked our waiter if our meal was about ready to which he responded that it would be right out, shaking his head as he turned away. About ten minutes later our meal (a hamburger, carrot, mashed potato and cheese stew with a side of cold peas and cold french fries, about $9.95 each) was delivered to our table. We had to ask for water and drink refills each time they were needed. Our waiter had an attitude during our entire visit. The owner, an older English lady DID drop by the table a couple of times to see if we needed anything, but since I was entertaining a date, I didnt want to make a scene. As we were finishing our meal, for some unknown reason a song was played at MAXIMUM VOLUME, drowning out our conversation. I asked a nearby waitress to please turn down the music as my date and I were having shout at each other to be heard over the music. She responded they were having a private party in one of the other rooms and they would only play the one song. The bill came to $39 & change. My first inclination was to stiff the waiter (mostly because of his attitude) but I did leave a $4 tip. Granted it wasnt 15% but the service and the food didnt warrant any tip at all. As the waiter walked back to a nearby serving bar we could hear him say out loud in disgust "A four dollar tip!" I felt confident the message had been delivered. I mentioned this was my third visit to the White Lion. The first and second visits we didnt have GOOD service, but the food was tasty and the atmosphere was nice for a date. This time the food was not particularly good, the service was lousy, and the attitude was inexcusable. Thats too bad because "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln", this could have been a nice little off the beaten path restaurant. My advise.... there is a Sonic around the corner!

Ive been going here for years. Had my first alcoholic drink there, in fact. The atmosphere is as English as youll get on this side of the pond. The food and drink menus arent prolific, but each selection is bound to be a good one. Ive always been pleased with what I get, and the same goes for my picky-eater best friend. Fish and chips? Cottage Pie? Burger? Whatever you like. Its a cozy and calm respite from the normal commercial food youll find spread throughout Tulsa. The owner, her son, and those that work with them are all delightful and do their best to make your evening a good one. Ive never been rushed out like at so many other high-turnover places. I love the White Lion.

White Lion is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The atmosphere is awesome - I brought a British friend there and he said it was just like a real English pub - and the fish n chips are the best in town. Considering I grew up on the coast where fish was cheap and wouldnt eat anything but fish n chips at restaurants when I was a kid, that is high praise! The male waiter DOES have a bad attitude but if you can get one of the other waiters, you will have a great time! Just make sure you make reservations if you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night.

My husband and I had a poor experience at the White Lion the other night. The food was low quality, even for british style food. My grilled cheese was crusty dry bread and I found myself thinking I could have made a better one at home. They have VERY few beers available - just a few on tap and 1 in the bottle? I found this to be very unusual for a pub. Our server acted like he was a in a great hurry for us to order and leave. Overall it was a bad experience and though its only 1 mile from my house, I probably will not return.

Peter makes it fun for us every visit, even though he is a fan of the reds of Merseyside. He is great on suggestions for authentic English drink with the fare, and he has absolutely sold me on brown and bitter. He has also generously comped a raspberry dessert for my son simply because Peter wanted him to have the opportunity to try it. These are class people, and a class establishment. Oh... and join the beer club for the new brewery and food pairings each month !!!! Love the family at White Lion

This has been one of my favorite places in Tulsa for over 15 years. The owners and staff are amazing. The food is awesome. The drinks are great and strong. It is truly a unique dining experience for Tulsa. Sure the service may be slow at times, its not a chain restaurant. You go here for the experience of the atmosphere, drinks, the food and the conversation with your table and the extremely friendly staff. Although Ive moved away, I make it a point to visit every time I am back in Tulsa.

My group and I had gone for dinner rather than the typical drinks and appetizers that you might expect at a pub but its a good thing since our drinks sat empty the majority of the time we were there. The one glass of wine I did have, had tin foil floating in the glass. The wait staff never checked on us, rather only attended to us when we got tired of waiting too long and flagged them down. The food was great but we certainly didnt feel welcome from the moment we got there.

Excellent little place, Im originally from Ireland and I have to say this place is the closest Ive found in Tulsa for authentic Irish and British food. The service is what I would expect from a typical English place too..... easy going and youre able to have some fun with the employees there.... just ask them to play the song "glory glory manchester united" and see what kind of response you get. Enjoy this place.... I always do.

I came in 13 minutes until the kitchen closed. I knew I would be keeping the staff late on a tuesday, so I just told them I would come back. I was urged by the owner to sit, and stay a while, it was no bother. He recommended the beer and the food and hit both out of the park! This place accomplishes what every other pub attempts. You genuinely feel like youve stepped into a small town English pub! This is my new spot.

This place is fantastic. A classic village pub plucked from Liverpool and set down in the middle of eastern Tulsa. The owner is a jovial and outgoing host and the wait staff attentive and helpful. The food is outstanding, the drinks are delicious, the atmosphere is amazing. Do yourself a favor, stop reading reviews and go visit the White Lion tonight. Youll be glad you did.
