food was great but the service was horrible. after waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order the waiter finally approached our table. no introduction, no welcome, no hello, no smile, no nothing. all he said was "ok go". i was so taken back by his rudeness that i was very tempted to just leave at that moment but I wanted to give it a chance because we have ordered the take out before and really liked it. so 10 minutes after we placed our order the man came back with my soup but still no drinks. a couple more minutes and finally our drinks finally came! unreal! the waiter brought our food in three separate times (3-5 min apart) and there were only three of us in our party. i ordered the General Tsaos Chicken which was very good. Massive portions too. I thought the price was quite high though. Our waiter had to have been the rudest waiter ive ever had at a dine in restaurant. I know of others who ate there and said the same thing so it just wasnt a one time thing. After I put the cash on the table, he came and took it almost forcefully without asking for change. At that point I didnt even care, I just wanted to get out of that place. Great food, horrific service, boring tacky gimmicky Chinese atmosphere, high prices. I would recommend the take out for sure but would never recommend dining in this place. I give it a 2.5 right down the middle. Suggestions to Rising Sun. Hire a designer to make the place look unique and modern Chinese decor, not a bunch of hand me down decorations from other failed restaurants. Hire some friendly waitresses who know how to treat customers instead of an old crabby guy who has the look on his face like "typical dumb american" when he looks at you. I hope you take the advice because Rising Sun has really good Chinese food.

Betrayed after 20 years of sweet and sour chicken. Thats how long Ive been getting Rising Suns most glorious dinner (to me) since I was 16 from the Mokena location. So Im well versed in this dinner. Now, Ive had a handful of bad plates- grizzly or dry chicken mostly. But very rare, I get it, it happens. But last night after a year of missing the golden goodness (wife cant do chinese) looking forward to one of my favorite comfort, coma inducing meals, I couldnt even finish my plate. Thats a first! Ever! The first thing I noticed was how DARK the sweet and sour mix was with the veggies and pineapple. Okay, weird, whatever, give it a shot... I swear they cut it with soy sauce! It was complete salty garbage!!! I could not believe it. I always pour it on the rice and pan fried noodles because its so good, NOPE. Terrible. Now, Ive -never- had problems with Mokena, but this is it for NL. On a previous dine in shortly after they opened they also cut the egg drop soup with water. One of my favorite thick soups of theirs just flavorless water... okay, one off thing, but because of that Im not surprised really they would cut the ss. That said, the fried rice and egg roll were fine. They load you up huge with chicken on carryout, and they are nice... But I laid down $29, give me fresh sweet and sour. Such a huge disappointment. Maybe thats how they make it now? Maybe they thought because I was carry out they could pass it off? Whatever the case it was awful! One of my favorite plates ruined. I cannot go back here.

Horrible experience. We endedup walking out. First the Waitress sat us with food stuffed in her mouth and falling out as she was Mumbling her seating directions to us. Then when we ordered our lunch special she argued with us over our desire to not have pork in our fried rice. Said we would have to pay extra to have vegetable fried rice instead because the pork fried rice is pre made from previous customers. So she wanted us to pay more for fresh rice or eat the left over Crap. Discusting. Prices are too high for that kind of service.

I thought the people were friendly, very prompt with the food. The food was Very Good. The place was very clean (even the wash room). Prices were decent if you order from the lunch special, but a little pricey as you go up through the Menu. The only thing. I would like to see, would be for them to change some of the prices on the Menu. The other would be a Nutrion Information Guide for people that need to stick to a certain meal plan.

Terrible service, food never seems to be consistent, every time I order it always tastes different. They really need to manage their servers, and kitchen staff for successful quality. otherwise, I believe they will lose more patrons by being treated rudely and not getting their orders correct. I havent returned there after being treated so poorly by one of the female servers. Not to say the males are any better!

Excellent food, friendly staff, and comfortable atmosphere. Ive enjoyed eating lunch here weekly for the past several years. They feature daily lunch specials. They recently added a Customer Rewards app. The egg rolls are excellent and my favorite dish is House Special Chop Suey, However, General Tsaus, Chicken and Mongolian Beef are also very good!

These guys have the absolute best eggrolls anywhere. They are huge and STUFFED! Their sweet and sour dipping sauce they serve with the eggrolls is unique and as far as I can tell hand-made. They offer fast service, even when you show up 10 minutes before closing time. My go-to place for Chinese food, hands down!

The staff was very polite and the food delightful. I had the teriyaki beef appetizer, which was excellent, and the tangerine chicken dinner. The chicken was perfectly crispy and thin on the outside and came with a large serving. This is my new favorite restaurant in the area. Would eat at again.

Great value for amount and quality of food! IMO they need to expand on vegetarian options but what else is new. Also they forgot to include plasticware and chopsticks so check your bag before you leave the building!

Great for take out, not so good inside. The service is never good. The last three times I have gone in there, I have ordered the same thing, and have received three different dishes.

One of the only restaurants left that still serves a sizeable STUFFED egg roll. Decent prices, strong drinks, you cant go wrong with this place!

The food was fantastic. You get a ton of food at a reasonable price. Hands down the best Chinese restaurant Ive ever had dinner at.
