It was my first weekend in Chicago area and we went to this restaurant based on recommendation of a co-worker. We were a group of 3 - 2 vegetarian and 1 non-veg. As soon as we reached there, we noticed they have increased the price for lunch buffet to $18.95 due to Mothers Day. Coning to food, this is the worst food I ever had in US in my last 5 years across the country. Few samples - they have medu vada with no salt and spice. Its supposed to be had with coconut chutney and sambhar. Coconut chutney was equally bad and there was no bowl for a watery sambhar. I tried bhindi, which you have to keep chewing to eat it. Noodles were smelly and completely non edible. A dish called paneer makhani was so red and sweet, it looks was preserved for many days and color and sugar added to hide the bad taste. In deserts, it was same - most of them were so sweet and tasteless, that you never get an idea of Indian food eating at this place. Even a basic thing of keeping vegetarian and non-veg foods seperate was not followed. So there we had chilli chicken and few veg dishes kept on one table. Never going there again. Funny part is co-worker who recommended this place was with us on this lunch and she herself hated this place this time. Forgot to mention, when we complained about food being bad, managers reaction was "Ohh...ok", then he passed a smile.

I went to this place after reading good reviews abt it on google and elsewhere. It looks a little dark and dingy with weird blue seats and dim lighting but it is pretty huge. We wanted to know what vegetables we could order with their dinner plate and never got a straight answer (or we didnt understand what the staff said). So we ordered roti, kulcha, okra subzi and dal makhani. We didnt get any rice with our order so we called the server over and were told that rice did not come with any of the items we ordered. What did they expect me to eat dal with? Air? That just screams somebodys out to make a cheap buck. Anyway we were both very hungry and just ordered the rice. The food was good and tasty but we were in no mood to linger. So we paid a princely sum of $3.50 for the rice and headed out. I wont be going there again in some time.

If I can give zero star I will. I ordered chicken tikka masala and rice on the phone and this is my second time, the food at this time tasteless and the chicken was so a little you barely see the chicken it was a lot of curry juice in it. The price is so high but the food quality is so low. When I went to pick up my food the guy at the front desk very moody. When I mentioned about delivery he seemed so upset that I asked and he told me to go on a website and sign up with door dash which I thought they do delivery as last time one of the staff told me they do delivery. It was a misunderstanding and I was trying to explain and the guy at front today must ate a bee hive because he was acting so rude. He wrote me the word door dash on the paper and throw a pen in the bucket so loud. What a suck behavior!

While the restaurant looks great and the service is fine, we were very disappointed at the quality of the food. The seekh kabab came sizzling in a cast iron plate and our eyes popped at the nice presentation but the kabab itself was very bad. It was rubbery as if it was not just made with ground beef but something very cheap mixed with it. The butter chicken tasted way too sweet and it was supposed to be a salty dish. Theirs was by far the worst butter chicken we have ever tasted. The jalfrazi chicken was overly sour as if we were eating pickles. The biryani was fine but not great. The best thing was the naan. I dont usually write bad reviews but considering how pricey this restaurant is, they should be doing much better than that if they want a good review.

One word- Pathetic I ordered to go from this place- At first the guy at front desk was too rude. I asked if there is something quick they can make and his response was Soda. I was out of time so in hurry I ordered Chilli paneer, and other stuff. When I reached home and opened Chilli paneer, I suspect there was something wrong with the chilli paneer and guess what those were pieces of meat/chicken in it. I was shocked and it was really disturbing for me. For a pure vegetarian person this is something which is not acceptable. Guys, please keep yourself away from this place. Esp if u are pure vegetarian.

Indian food is usually not to different place to place, but the subtle differences in the food here couple with the great atmosphere inside along with a positive attitude from the staff make this an excellent place to dine and enjoy good food. Suggested changes to viceroy: Please note: I was amazed at how much of a difference there is between the outside to the inside of the Resturant. If they can just have an equal expectation for the appearance of their out side, they would likely do much better. Aside from that I look forward to going again.

I go there for their lunch time buffet, and if youve never tried Indian food thats the way to go. Their food is unbelievably good. If I were a prisoner on death row my last meal would be their Matar Paneer over rice and some butter chicken with nan. Their service is very good and theyre always refilling my drinks. Theyre very curteous, professional, and polite. Only one time did l have to wait a little bit before someone showed up to seat me, but that was an exception. Its also a treat to see Indian lady customers in their beautiful Sari dresses.

Service wasnt good at all. During the ordering waiter walked away in the middle of us explaining to him what we wanted. We received food we didnt want and didnt receive everything we wanted. They were out of the wine we ordered and a substitute came late. No dirty plates were removed. I had to ask for the bill which was wrong. Service was poor. Not everybody in our party received their food the way they wanted it. However, some of us liked our dishes. Bummer experience though cause we really like dinning at India restaurants.

umm, to terence, they dont have chicken tikka masala in the buffet. Its usually butter chicken and chicken curry. what you had was probably tandoori chicken. it has bones. someone chicken curry when cooked kashmiri style has bone. overall, a great place for buffet and dinner. their selection is huge, so even if you dont like one entree, you are bound to find two that you will love. We go here at our lunch break ( from oak brook) and it never disappoints. love their authentic palak aloo.

I would rate the food of this restaurant of very poor quality I ever had in US. We had dal tadka, rice, and other stuff. The dal was totally spoiled and was smelling badly and the rice was not cooked at all. We could feel the raw rice. I ordered online and when I went to pick it up I saw I saw nobody in the hotel even at the peak time. I was little bit suspicious but thought otherwise but now I understood why there was no crowed and yes never go to this restaurant.
