Ordered a vegetable cutlet and the Mysore masala dosa. The cutlet was great, had some carrots, cashews and peas, and was flavorful. A problem however was that the cutlets had been sprinkled with chat masala which made the cutlet too salty. Served with a mint/cilantro chutney and a tamarind/date chutney that were poured into the same compartment on the tray which was a bummer. The Mysore masala dosa (masala on the side) came with two chutneys and a sambar. The dosa was crisp and well seasoned with the chili powder/paste and the chutneys, while being somewhat nondescript, were quite good. The potato masala itself was average, but what lowered my rating for the place was the sambar. It was quite awful - they were able to turn out something that was over spiced but under flavored. It had no lentils I could detect, and I detected some cumin, which leads me to believe that the brown liquid that was served might have, in part had a life as a rasam earlier. Almost everyone else seemed to be local regulars and were ordering North Indian food - maybe they were staying away from the sambar too.

My wife and I love Indian food. Since moving to the area five years ago have been in search for a place that we both liked. The food at Shree is excellent. 100% vegetarian menu is a bonus for vegetarians looking for a menu with more than 2-3 dishes to choose from. They have both northern and southern Indian dishes so it makes it easy to explore and find something new to try. I recommend their Dosas; the crepes are light and the fillings are well made, I am partial to the Mysore Masala Dosa. You have to try the Chana Bhatura, which can be described as Indian comfort food, its a chick pea dish made with herbs and spices served with puffed bread. Yum! If youre not sure what to order getting the Thali Dinner (selection of different dishes served in small bowls) makes it easy and delicious. The service is wonderful and they are very attentive. Dont get thrown off by the strip-mall location. Shree is a gem.

The waiter with pony tail on his head, hair tied back was very arrogant and disrespectful. No Value for your money, quality of food is very low and tasteless, quantity and quality of food does not match the high price they charged us,, we paid $ 27 for one masala dosa and chana batura, the quality of chole was 3rd grade may be made days back and heat and serve, quantity of beans in the chole was hardly more than 3 oz and two puris for $ 13.25, and they expect you to come back and spend money. This was first and last run to this rip off restaurant, our friend from Gujrat warn us not to go there when they overcharged him by $20, and now we know why he warn us, this owner wants your money, Stay away from this restaurant.

Its nice to find a vegetarian indian restaurant - especially one of finer quality. But for my fiance and I the real draw was the dosas, which are the speciality of this restaurant. We will definitely go back just for those. Prices are a tad high, but worth it for the quality. (And what do you expect? Its Westmont.) The only other drawback is the buffet is rather limited. But in a restaurant this good, who needs a buffet anyway?

They have a great lunch buffet from 11-2. Everything on the lunch buffet is vegetarian friendly! The staff is warm and friendly! My family has been going here for years. It seems very authentic. Lots of ethnic people go here. Its always a good sign when people of the specific cuisine go to the restaurant. They recently had some renovations, and the place looks modern and nice! The food is always fresh!

Not even sure where to start. Ill keep it short. The service was awful, the food was worse. Frozen veggies, potatoes that tasted almost microwaved, the chapatti was decent. And way overcharged for wine, which was sub-par but cant blame them for having made but I suppose they chose it and the charge was outrageous. So. Came home and ate a frozen dinner that tasted better.

I agree with Mir Khan. One waiter was very rude and disrespectful. He needs proper training in treating customers. We went to Shree to have south Indian food (It was a buffet), but most of the items were Punjab dishes. Food was OK. I will not go there again. The waiters were showing partiality towards some customers. One thing I liked, they were serving hot Pooris.

If I had a choice would give no stars. I waited for nearly one hour for my to go order. The restaurant was technically empty and they started bringing the food for the guests arrived after me. If you get there give enough time to get food. Manager was rude and they kept saying 5 mins and food never arrived until I asked 3 times.

Slow and rude service. 2 of us ordered two thalis and waited for 20+mins for it to be served. After asking politely to the server about the status, he replied rudely saying "YOUR THALI IS COMING". Waited another 5 mins and finally had to leave hungry. A table which came after us were served atleast 10 mins before us.

post remodel, one of the best looking Indian restaurants in the burbs. They are a fully Vegetarian restaurant, rare find. weve been eating here since the early 90s and they always satisfy even the most discerning palates. Dinesh and Manoj treat everyone like family and ensure you truly enjoy your dining experience.

Small restaurant, nice ambience, passable food, bland at times. Stick to the snacks and avoid the thali, pricey with very limited quantities. And the service sucks. Took a long time to bring food. Asked for the check and was given a bowl of kheer! Shree is an option if you want strictly vegetarian food south of 88.

Great food, and very authentic. Being Indian I would highly recommend this place. We drive from Oak Park to go here and love it every time. They are doing well and expanding too, so more room when it gets busy. Its vegetarian and has a wide variety of North and South Indian food, both styles being really good.

One of the most unpretentious little Indian restaurant in the area. The owner is super nice and the food is awesome. To be honest, I did not have a lot of hope going into the restaurant especially after taking a look at the location, but the food just blew my mind! I would be going there more often from now!

This is an amazing vegetarian restaurant. Almost felt like we were eating in India when they served us the aloo bonda and poori bhaaji.. dosa was great too. Ambience is great and staff is friendly. We were 7 of us and none of our plates had leftovers. Highly recommending

Do not be fooled by it being in a strip mall, everything was wonderful. Great prices and great service too. It was our first time eating Indian food & the waiter patiently helped us through the menu and showed us the best way to eat it as well. Will be back again.
