We ate at the Liberty while attending our daughters Navy graduation. We were passing through the area, spotted the restaurant and decided to just stop in for an early dinner. We were really glad we did because the food was excellent, the service very friendly and the decor nicely done. My husband ordered the special which was a broiled Ribeye steak. Let me tell you .. that was one of the best steaks hed ever had. Period. Broiled or not, it was tender and delicious. Everything was so good in fact that my daughter cant wait to make a return trip with some of her new sailor friends. Thanks Liberty for a great meal.

This place is gross. I walked in, and I thought I smelled sewage... seriously... like when a basement backs up. My friend will eat anything and like anything he eats. He usually finishes what he eats even if he doesnt think it was good. He got the calf liver. He ate it until the very last bite and said he couldnt do it. I was amazed. He said it does not taste good. I forgot what I got, but I know I wasnt happy. I will never return. Service was poor. Ill be honest and say this was about 2 years ago so I dont know how the service is now. Ill give it some stars just because I feel bad for writing this review.

Been going for years and had no problem. Today, we ordered lunch and person on phone never asked for choice of soup/salad. I picked up food and discovered missing. Phoned back and said where is the soup/salad and she said it was up to me to ask for it upon ordering, not her (really??) After blaming me for her mistake, I asked if she would deliver the missing items. Not a chance. One chicken limon was good, the other undercooked. The ahi tuna which we asked for rare, was dry as a bone. Surprised at bad level of service after having been a good customer for years

Want a family-style, family-owned neighborhood casual and simple dining experience? The Liberty cant be beat. The service is friendly and attentive. The menu is large, with a wide range of choices. Breakfast is served any time. (I love the omelets - I choose fresh fruit instead of hashbrowns and pancakes instead of toast; yeah, these substitutions are available.) There is a daily Lunch Specials menu. The Low Cal plate is a fav too: cottage cheese, nuts, fresh fruit, with salmon/beef patty/chicken breast. GREAT value; comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.

I have been dining at the Liberty Restaurant since I was a child. This is a great, comfortable choice in Libertyville when you want a good bang for your buck! I love going for breakfast and having the Hey José! skillet or the Swedish pancakes. The lunch and dinner options are also done right :) I would recommend this restaurant to anybody in Libertyville who wants to feel at home getting a good meal at a good price. I have had groups of 2 and groups of 20 for special occasions, and nothing but positive reviews amongst friends and family!

We love the Liberty!!!!! We go there at least 2X per week. Breakfast on Sunday and dinner on Thursday and/or Friday. And we love the owners!!! Some of the nicest people you will meet. Cant go wrong with breakfast, lunch or dinner with generous portions, all made with fresh ingredients. Good beef, fish, chicken and lamb. The soups are delicious. Thursdays soup of the day is vegetable, which is my favorite. Prices are very reasonable.

The food is good, fresh, and appealing. The menu is extensive, staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. We did, however, return one order...their grilled cheese is usually exceptional. This last visit was disappointing...The sandwich was very small, the one slice of cheese didnt fill to the edges of the bread. Usually the cheese runs over the edge, is thick and tasty. But the exchange for a salad was rewarding.

Its just an okay restaurant. Nothing to rave about. The, who I believe to be, owner wasnt the friendliest person in the world. I picked up a rather large order for a group of people and he was nice the first time. However they forgot to give us two orders and when I went back, he just shoved the bag my way and walked away. We wont be going there for breakfast anymore.

We are always trying some place local and different, so we tried Liberty Restaurant last night. I had the special, beef stroganolf. I threw up shortly after eating this, was up all night with the obvious issues with bad food related problems. Ive had questionable food served before and never complained, but this got me so terribly sick I had to say something.

When in Libertyville on business, we always treat our clients to The Liberty. The restaurant is spacious enough for large parties, and we typically request a large table in the back for lunch meetings. Thank you to the team at The Liberty Restaurant for always hosting our parties and ensuring the happiness of our clients and staff.

There is something on the menu to satisfy everyones taste. Salads, fresh fruit, all impeccably prepared. Hand formed burgers. They even prepared Grandmas pork chop without salt, but still their delicious traditional preparation .I enjoyed a lovely summer salad with beets, berries and goat cheese.

I ordered a take out of their chicken noodle soup and received a quart of chicken flavored soup with no chicken! There was about 3 ounces of carrots and macaroni noodles and the rest was clear chicken flavored stock with a few bits of celery and parsley. I will NOT order their soup again!

If you like great honest food. This is the place. Very generous portions of excellent quality. You can tell that this family takes pride in what they do. Super clean and not noisy. You can actually have a conversation. I highly recommend it.

Very nice restaurant. Wait staff was very friendly and the food came really quick. Literally felt like 10 min after I placed my order. Portions are very generous (i.e plenty of food). Would recommend. Good place to bring the family.
