No question, The Mean Weiner cooks up the biggest and best dogs on the North Shore. The buns are home made, too, and wonderful as only a master bagelmaker can bake them. So too, the turkey burgers. Flavorful and moist, they are delicious. Unfortunately, the fries, even the sweet potato fries, are lacking in taste and adding the Mean Weiners cheese sauce makes no improvement. Its just tasteless. I dont know whether they are using a pre-mixed cheese sauce but they need to use real cheddar and melt it themselves. Im not sure what they can do to improve the fries. Maybe its the oil? Whatever the case, the atmosphere is friendly and the place as spotless as a surgical suite. Just work on those fries, willya?

The food here is pretty good, atmosphere can have an improvement though. For a resturant for its prices it could have better tables and chairs. Orchata used to be free but now charges $1 per refill. It charges sauces, even if you ask for it to be change to a different sauce. The "Chile de árbol" is probably the most popular hot sauce in my experiences coming here and they hardly give you any if you order something from the Mexican style menu. Overall good food, atmosphere can improve, and the prices could be better, otherwise this place charges you for the most mundane things ever. I recommend the burger, gyro, tacos, fries, and definitely the Orcharta.

The BEST chorizo tacos Ive ever had in my life! Ive gone to other mexican places and they always come out super greasy. The mean weiner has the best tacos in town and I keep coming back at least once a week! Ive also introduced this place to several other people and theyve also enjoyed it as much as I do! Definitely a place to recommend! Never really cared enough to try the hot dogs so I cant comment on them. Service is fast! Which makes it a great place for quick lunches. I love that theyre military friendly (in or out of uniform). Just show your I.D. and you receive a free drink!

Im kind of shocked to see everyone raving about the tacos. I ordered a cecina taco with my meal and it was just ok. It had 2 large pieces of cecina which made it difficult to eat, I would have liked to see it chopped into smaller bits. It had some onions and cilantro and a side of salsa, nothing really stood out. I also got an Italian beef with everything on it. It was good but not up to the level of Portillos. I had a side of elote which was delicious, I would highly recommend it.

If you love juicy, long and thick sausages then you have to try the Mean Weiner. Their Weiners are awesome and they have so many to choose from. Sorry to sound bold, but dont have any other way to describe them. A must have if your in the area. They also sell good Mexican food.

Us to be a great place to grab a dog to go, no longer. It all lays on the bun! No matter how good the dog is, no matter that the Chicago toppings were just right. It all lays on the bun! Which the past two times Ive stopped has simply SUCKED!! WEEK OLD STALE SUCKED!!

Mean wiener is a great place to eat for cheap. They have a variety of options from Italian beef to tacos. Its rare that you find a place with this level of service with low prices. My family of 5 ate for less than $25. That included a shake for dessert!

Great value restaurant! We have not tried the hot dogs....but give the hamburgers, gyros, gyros burrito and tacos the big thumbs up. Quick service and dining room always clean. Very reasonable prices. This is our go-to when we cant figure out what to eat!
