The menu items are ordinary mexican food that you can get for 1/3 of the price elsewhere but the atmosphere is fun. I would suggest that you go get good, cheap Mexican food elsewhere on a routine dinner night but when you want to spend money go someplace else- UNLESS you order something here that typical mexican joints dont offer. The guacamole was poor. Getting ripe avocados can be very difficult but for $8.50, they should be using avocados that dont taste like grassy, unripened bananas- or give flavor with adobo and cilantro. The enchilada was exactly the same quality as any place that costs 1/3 of the price. The chilean sea bass special was excellent and unique. I didnt check the price but it was probably $23 like some of the other seafood dishes on the menu. That might have been worth it.

Food: 3 Decor: - Service: 3 I got some food from La Casa on a Wednesday evening when they were at the Highwood evening farmers market. 1. Ceviche, 4 Mediocre. Cold raw fish cooked in lemon juice, served with some salsa on top of a small soft taco. It tasted okay, but it reminded me of a cold fish taco. 2. Crispy chicken taquito, 7 Okay. Chicken was good and taquitos were crispy, but I was hoping that the chicken would have been crispier. The chicken was actually shredded, and they topped the four taquitos with salsa, lettuce, onions, and cilantro.

Restaurant mexicano con muy buena comida, la carne jugoza y de buen sabor, meseros y personal muy atento, ademas de tener muy buena variedad de bebidas. Esta ubicado realmente cerca del downtown en Highland Park y el horario de atencion es bueno.

Im surprised this restaurant is getting a 3.8 score. Its a very mediocre dining experience. The service is disorganized (cramped front, waiting area, understaffed, slow), it WAY overpriced ($110 for a family of 5) and the food taste like it came out of a can. There are far better Mexican restaurants in the Chicago area.....better food, better pricing and better service. Garcias in Lincoln Square, for example. Better in every way and the same family of 5 eats for $55.

Average at best. Overpriced, Americanized, Mexican-style foods. Similar experience at any local Mexican taco joint. Service was below average. Waitress took our order, brought our food, and brought our check. The only three times we saw her. Was there on a Wednesday, it was packed with families with small children, so dont go and expect to be able to have a conversation with those dining with you. Dont waste your time or your money.

La Casa De Isaac is the best Mexican food in the North Shore. When my family come from Michigan we have to go here for them. Everything is fresh and made on site. They also are at the Highwood Evening Market every Wednesday night in the summer. The familiar call of Issacs TACOOOOOOOOs can be heard through the park! Reasonably priced as well. Excellent.

On Saturday night the place is a zoo. You cannot hear yourself talk and you are jampacked into the place like sardines. VERY UNENJOYABLE. The food is good but it is simply mexican food that you can get at many other restaurants. Maybe during the week it might be fine, but on Saturday, forget it. I WILL NOT GO BACK.

The food was horrible. Came on my lunch break the waiters were nice but the food was gross I ordered the steak burrito plate and there was alot of fat in the meat. I should have just went to McDonalds... taco burrito king in Chicago is way better. Dont waste your time or money

My wife and I love La Casa de Isaac- not to fancy, great traditional offerings with a few unique dishes and an outstanding staff that always makes us feel like home. They also make Posole that is our favorite in the Chicagoland area (at least what we have found so far)!

Salmon & goat cheese tacos? Mind blown!! If you happen to be up in the North Shore, its worth a little detour from Green Bay Road. A warm and cozy joint well worth the wait, and arent you having margaritas, anyhow?

Service is always excellent. Can count on some of the best tacos on the north shore! Hours can be confusing but they are always open for Sunday and a little patio action!

Friendly service. SMALL restaurant. Make a reservation but expect to wait on busy nights. Food is a solid choice for Mexican.

The salsa is great! Chicken fajitas were also great but $20 seemed high for lunch. Most everything else priced well.
