So i liked this place at first. The food was decent but the staff was so rude. So i go in there yesterday. I am polite and make small chat with the waitress as i order my meal. Everything seems fine at this point. Until the waitress goes to another waitress and says a few words and then the other waitress stares at me then laughs. Then my waitress goes to the owners by the register. Says a few words then they look at me. At this point i feel awkward and uncomfortable. Then she does the same thing to the cook in the back and he starts to look at me. Obviously she was gossiping about me. About what i have no idea. I never seen dealt with such a rude waitress . Obviously i will never go back and be subjected that again

Maneje un rato para comer un conejo adobado, me toman la orden espero un rato y regresa la mesera para decirme que no tienen conejo, talves entre semana lo entendería pero en fin de semana no puedo creer que no tengan lo que ofrecen en su menú decepcionado:(

Some of the things I look for in a restaurant, in no particular order, are quality of food, service, and ambience. Well, La Oaxaquena is a great restaurant with all of these qualities. Ive been to the restaurant about 5 times, and I have yet to be disappointed with the food. The tortas are excellent, but dont be afraid to try venture out and try some of their more typical mexican dishes such as the enchiladas oaxaquenas. The employees are also very nice and will help you with any questions you have about their dishes. Buen provecho!

Food was not tasty at all and I feel like the prices were too high for the quality. Ordered the chilaquilles which are 11 with no beans or rice, they were tasteless and overpriced. Side of beans and rice is decent priced, but again the rice is flavorless. Same with the flan. The alpastor was decent but nothing to rave about. Overall I think the prices would be ok, if the food actually was delicious. Unfrotuannly thats not the case. Only good experience was the cashier that took my phone orders and driver, but where nice and friendly.

I think the place is really good. The food is great they have a huge slection to pick from and when you get it delivered it is still hot and it sometimes takes a long time because they make it fresh every time. But, the only thing I do not like about it is that the decorations is kind of off a little like they have to much paper and cards on the front door and it is always muggy in there and there are to muck plants. But, the good thing is that it is really close to my neighborhood and I like that a lot. I would really recomand it.

Buen servicio. Sin embargo los tacos que pedimos tenian mucha grasa, no sabian mucho a carne, y estaba seca la carne. El arroz estaba desabrido. Lo unico que mas o menos me gusto fueron los frijoles :(

Vas en el último bocado y te llevan la cuenta sin pedirla...??? Ppfff, se me hizo una grosería y yo NUNCA regreso a comer. Si a la mesera no le gusta su trabajo, contratenme por favor!!

I went to this place as a person wanting to try something new. The chips werent the best I ever had but they were pretty good. I ordered three tacos and all three were amazing. They also have seafood here and the decorations were authentic and the place is clean. The service was nice and the waitresses were very friendly.

The tacos are pretty good for take out, which take out is only available . Normally were our taste buds are satisfied, but when it comes to guacamole and chips, the chips have been stale and the guac was bland. Ive tried other dishes and its been ok. Overall, Id have to go elsewhere for mexican food.

Far and away the best Mexican food in Chicago, with friendly staff, in a great environment! The mole has awesome depth of flavor and the chile rellenos are made with reconstituted dried chiles that make the dish so much more flavorful than a standard version.

I ate at this place at around 10pm and i gotta say...the best tasting food...it looks and taste home made..i had the "combin oaxaqueña " and was delish...i will go there again...and the staff was too awesome...i love it

Service was good but the food is even better. I had the Choriqueso which is a mixture of cheese and mexican sausage served with flour tortillas. Then the enchilladas, which were phenomenal. I will be back.

Without a doubt, this is the best mexican food in the area, and some of the best in the city. The burritos and tortas are great, and the entrees are also outstanding.
