Update: 08/Jun/2017 Red Robin has contacted us and I feel they have been very sincere in their response. We appreciate a company reaching out to us and handling the situation in an extremely professional manner. Kudos to them for doing this. I wish more companies would have the same level of professionalism that they have shown. Original Review: Let me preface this by saying we had gone to the Gurnee Illinois location several months ago. We placed our order and waited for over an hour for our food. We finally asked someone at the front why our order was taking so long. After another 15 minutes, we were told that our waitress had left for the day since her shift had ended. Apparently she had never put our order in, and no one was assigned to our table. Since we had plans we were already late for, we left. Today, we decided to give this location another shot. We placed a To Go order for two Adults and two children. 1 x (13) Towering Onion Rings® 1 x The Southern Charm Burger + $2.24 in add-ons 1 x Black & Bleu Burger + $0.75 add-ons 1 x Pub Mac & Cheese + $2.99 in add-ons 1 x Kids meal (9) Corn Doggies First off, The Southern Charm Burger was suppose to come pink, it came well done. It should have come with sweet potato fries as an add-on/substitution. It came with normal steak fries. The description said the "Black Angus patty glazed with brown sugar and topped with candied bacon." The patty did not come glazed and the bacon was normal bacon. We also selected that it come with pickles, but it did not. The Black & Bleu Burger was suppose to come pink, it came well done. There was hardly any blue cheese on it, I was dry and extremely chewy. Picture included. The Pub Mac and Cheese. $8 for a tiny little container that was for one of my children. Picture included. Seriously? Look at his thing! It was also dry according to my Son with very little flavor. This is not listed under the appetizers or kids menu. It is under the tavern menu. Ridiculous! The kids meal corn dogs seemed fine except they forgot to include to drink that came with it! We did contact the restaurant about our experience and was told by the Manager that they would refund us for the kids drink and the add-on sweet potato fries if possible, whatever that means. However, we found this highly unacceptable. When so much went wrong with an order, and most of ended up in the trash, something more should have been done. We are highly disappointed with both of our experiences at this location and dont see us ever going back.

So granted, before writing this review Ill mention that this Red Robin was swamped. It was a 45 minute wait for a table, but that in no way is affecting my review. I went to this Red Robin with four friends. I ordered the Beer Brat with honey mustard on the side for the sweet potato fries. Instead, they put honey mustard ON the Beer Brat. It had already been a 30+ minute wait for our food, so I didnt want to send it back because we had a two hour drive back home and it was getting late. But thats no the worst part, no. The worst part was trying to split the tab on this stupid electronic cashier. It broke halfway through, not allowing me to further edit the checks I had already split. I asked our waitress for her assistance, and she did something to put the checks back into one. There was a screen with the amount $24.95 on it and she said, "Thats the amount youll leave as a tip", or something along those lines. I signed, and she gave me my check, without a tip calculated. I have never paid a tip by credit card in my entire life up until this point. Based on the receipt the waitress gave me, I physically handed her a $25 tip (I did NOT leave it on the table) because that seemed the right thing to do, and she just took it! She didnt correct me to say that I had already paid her a tip!!! Her poor service was not worth $50, and their food was not worth a 45 minute wait. UPDATE: I got my $24.95 back, so I "Disliked It" and I no longer "Hated It" (1 to 2 stars).

Full review from beginning to end. This was my first time eating here. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger, I asked for well done and I received semi pink burger with tiny bits for bacon if you want to call it bacon. They were bacon bits not bacon. I let the waitress know. She got the manager. He brought some half cooked, half raw strips of bacon. Their tap water so far , is the worst tasting tap water. Their steak fries are ok. They offered me another burger. I said to them if you can not get it right the first time, I dont want to eat here. The first impression is very important. At the end the waitress said you can always go to mcdonalds. I told here at least their burgers are cooked all the way lol Anyways, I will not eat here again. I will make my own burgers. You heard the saying. You want something done right, do it yourself. Remember that first impression is the most important.

I just wanted to tell you I had a wonderful dining experience. I had read some really bad reviews online about this location. I was redeeming my Birthday burger and I decided I want to see why so many negative reviews. Everyone I ever talked about the Gurnee location had nothing bad to say about it. My waitress Liz A. was wonderful. The food didnt take to long about 12 minutes, which is to be expected if you want it fresh. Before I could ask she asked me if I wanted a refill on fries. She didnt know until afterwords what I was doing until I asked her if there was card to fill out about how great my experience was. She tried to have me fill it out there, but the computer wouldnt let me. So here I am. So Liz A. is a fabulous person and the Gurnee location is wonderful. Clean good food and great atmosphere. This is the 3rd time since Feb 2014 that I have gone to this Red Robin Restaurant. The service with Zach was spot on the first 2 times,the food was hot delicious . tonight Matt was our server he couldnt have been better. We were with another couple, his meal was perfect, she claimed immediately that her order was incorrect. We encouraged her to let Matt know she choose not to and ate every bite. It wasnt until the end of the meal that she then commented on her burger not being as she ordered. Matt of course let his manager know who then comped her a $10.00 gift card. I was embarrassed, it really took away from our evening out. My apologies to the staff who run a first class operation in a restaurant that was packed to the gills. Thank you Stacy

Service is aweful. In fact I went to a Woodfield Red Robin on Saturday and I went to the Gurnee one tonight. Service was aweful, waitress was snippy when she brought the wrong drink. She returned with the real drink 15 minutes later (she was timed for laughs). In fact the meal came before the drink. The food is great like any Red Robin, it is a little bit noisy, but whatever. The tip was automatically added to the bill for whatever reason. They also gave incorrect change, but it was only off by 50 cents. I prefered Max and Ermas which was there before Red Robin... yum.
