I would like to say a few words about SIAM SIAM (formerly I AM SIAM). This restaurant has been one of our favorites for several years and was very convenient to us being right down the street in Wheeling. The restaurant has moved due to issues with the landlord. The new location is much smaller but nice decor. The real "rub" here seems to be the fact that they have an extremely small kitchen compared to the old place. We have been to the new location twice. What we ordered the first time was as good as we have known the place to be in the past, but the second time was a little "dicey". Luke warm food. Flavors a little off, and the meat content of dishes seemed skimpy compared to the past. I have spoken to a few other people who have been long time customers, and interestingly enough, they all had the same complaints. Two people think that because of the small kitchen, it appears that they are making certain popular dishes ahead and microwaving portions when ordered. Which would account for the luke warm food and the off flavors. It seems they just cant handle a rush of business with this small kitchen. We havent been back, but one of these days we will try them again to see if they have found solutions to their problems. Unfortunately, they WERE always one of the best THAI restaurants we have tried in the Chicagoland area.

This Saturday night my wife and I decided to go out for some Thai food. This restaurant is not far from our house and it seemed like a logical choice. We used to order take out from them and the food was OK. When we got there we were greeted by a hostess who seemed to be too busy with answering phones and helping out people that came to pick up their takeout orders. She simply gave us the menus and told us to pick a table ourselves. We thought this was a little unusual, but it didnt seem like a big problem. We sat down and started waiting for someone to come and pour our waters and eventually take our orders. To our great surprise, NOBODY came to our table for 30 MINUTES. There was another couple that walked in after us and they got their order taken, but the ONLY ONE WAITER in the whole place seemed to ignore us. After waiting for 30 minutes, we simply got up and left. I was going to tell the hostess, but she was not upfront, so I dont even know if anyone noticed that we left. I cant comment on this restaurants food menu, as we never got to try it, but this place redefines HORRIBLE service. We ended up going to a different restaurant where service was excellent. I would not recommend "I am Siam" to anyone.

Pros: Generally good food, good prices, generally good service. lunch includes appetizer and soup. Fridays soup is Tum yum which is outstanding. Very close to my last job. Barb. pork fried rice and sweet chicken are both excellent and are very large portions. Cons: Some items are average, not bad - such as the Pad Thai. I have had better at other restaurants but they are generally more expensive. Other: I wouldnt hesitate to go back. Green Basil is better quality, but smaller portions and more expensive.

Some good options here - but i had to mark down stars for lack of a liquor license and a seeming inability to manage spices in the kitchen. I enjoy my food quite spicy, but my wife prefers her dishes more mild - but regardless of how we order, or how many times we insist on mild spices, the dishes come out either standard thai shockingly spicy or completely flavorless (usually the former). Now, if we had a beer to wash that down it might be a different story ... ;)

I love This place, i have been coming here for years. sweet chicken, sweet beef, five star chicken, pad thai. All of their meals taste great and have generous portions. The location is very nice for dining in, and order out is always on time and the order is correct. If your in the mood for Thai give this place a taste you will not be disappointed!

Best thai food in this area. Portions art way worth the kinda pricy entrees. Great paapaya salad and crab rangoon. My favorite is the spicy thai beef. Love this place. Im not sure whats up with the negative reviews here, but these people might not know good food if it slapped them in the face. This place is a good one

Weve been ordering from them at this location and their old location for many years. Amazing staff. I usually place orders and my husband will pick them up and when I come in everyone asks about my husband and comments that it is nice to see me. Great food and generous portions.

Their service is pretty efficient if you are trying to go for a fast lunch. And it doesnt seem to get too busy for lunch. Ive been there a few times and Ive been disappointed twice with their entrees. The sauces have been far too sweet and the noodles a bit overdone.

Just ordered here for the first time, took an an hour and a half for delivery. My crab Rangoon was completely cold, undercooked, and flavorless. The chicken satay was less than average. We also ordered the curry and they forgot the rice and it was terrible.

Ive been coming here for years, usually with coworkers. The service is fast and friendly, buy not particularly chatty. I live my food spicy, and they never disappoint. They lunch menu is great and cheap for the amount of food you get. Highly recommended.

The food is always made fresh, always full of unique flavor, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. If you are looking for unique Thai dining in the North West Suburbs, I Am Siam is what you are looking for.

Got some food for take out. It was awful. Everything tasted off, especially Mee Krob with microscopic shrimp, and half an egg. Everyone was disappointing with all dishes that we ordered. Will never go back there.

Good lunch for $7. Soup that came as part of the appeteizer was Luke warm but good. Much better place than the old IHOP it occupied that was never redecorated and still kinda smelled like pancake syrup!

I enjoyed the Crispy Rice Salad which is hard to find at Thai restaurants in the U.S. The service was warm and friendly, and I really wish the best for the new owners of this location!

Good lunch. For $8 you get a small egg drop soup with a roll, plus a choice of one of 20 different dishes. Red curry was good. So was Pad Thai and Pad See Eew.
