We were on vacation and wanted to have adult libation and have some fun. We went to the American Legion post # 435 in Glen Carbon , Ill. and was welcomed with open arms, thank you Kelly❗, Awesome hot wings and awesome service . We left and drove three blocks up the road to this place ...which looked to be a promising location. The very attractive bartender on the evening of August 10th 2017 had no niceness for myself or my Amish friends....we could tell right away that she was not interested in being nice to us. We waited and waited to finally get a drink and then she would not serve my friends wife because her Indiana State issue ID card did not have a picture. That is a religious choice and it is lawful. Anyway we had a cold beer and then exited the establishment. The bartender was beautiful on the outside, not so much on the inside, mostly rotten. I mean that in the nicest way... Im not judging, just observing. Anyway, I left her substantial gratuity and said a Prayer...

HORRIBLE service, despite what everyone else is saying. We went for lunch when they were dead and there was only 3-5 tables when we were there. The waitress was more interested in sweeping up the invisible dirt on the floors than taking our order and refilling our drinks. But, you dont go to a pub for service, you go for the drinks and pub grub. Too bad that fell flat too. The tea I ordered tasted like sour instant tea and the margarita my friend ordered was bland and tiny. Not worth the price. We went on Tuesday to try their tacos. We both ordered the tacos and some spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was meh. Targets frozen brand has more flavor and artichoke pieces. The tacos got mixed reviews. She liked them, I hated them. The meat was over-seasoned and a touch too spicy. While she liked them, she wouldnt make a special trip to get them again. They werent anything special.

The rustic atmosphere was very nice and I think it would have been a better experience if I did not go on a Saturday. A group of mid 20s that obviously new the employees were loud and one was even so drunk he lost a shoe trying to enter a bathroom. This took away from the overall appeal, especailly when a couple was walking past and he knocked beer on the woman. Cmon, theres a point you just need to kick people from the bar, regardless if their your friends or not. Ill go back and offer a second chance because I think the place has potential but if the rowdy "friends" of the employees show up again, I think Ill find another place to go.

The location of this place is SOOOO good. Right in the heart of downtown a couple of blocks away from the bike path. Weve started coming here after our sons baseball practice. If you are a foodie though or a beer snob, you might be left pining. This is straight up bar fare ala Applebees, but the location cannot be beat.

We were there for taco Tuesday and it was delicious. Not only did we get the tacos, we also got the shrimp skewers, lobster rangun, and fried pickles. Everything was delicious and the servers were nice. Great atmosphere and very clean.

Food was yummy but at the end of the day this is a bar. Youre going to get bar food. Drinks and food were also a little more on the pricy side. Atmosphere is decent and the heated patio is nice.

Fried pickles are delicious. Different than the usual from wherever you go, with their own flair and flavor. The atmosphere is relaxed and mellow. Value per dollar is excellent.
