Being from Chicago Ive tasted some good eats. Considering myself a self proclaimed "foodie", I really really loved this place. The atmosphere is like a mom and pops restaurant. The food that they push out of that kitchen is nothing short of delicious. Im not a fan of corner grills French fries . Under cooked in my opinion. Genoa cafe fries are crispy and seasoned. The prices are very very affordable. For under 15.00 my husband got the Philly steak with fries and choice of soup ,salad, or cottage cheese. I ordered the ham and cheese club with fries. So my husbands Philly steak OMG! grilled onion, green pepper, smothered in cheese. So so good I had to steal a bite. My club was delicious. This place is not raved enough about, way better than corner grill in my opinion any day! I hate we just now tried it

Ive been going here for the past sixteen years. I got my food and it was not hot. I brought this up to the waitress, who happened to be the the owners wife. She brought it to the cook. The cook, who was the owner, brought another plate to me. He rudely told me that he always serves hot food not cold. My family will never eat there again.

Genoa café is a fun hometown restaurant with good, homemade food. The people are friendly and you always see people you know. Its nice to stop by and get some hot oatmeal or a good omelet. I like the atmosphere and the easy going charm.

We go most Sundays after church with my family. Love it! Hometown feeling and waitresses see me coming and know what i want because they remember. Very sweet!
