The Gold Rush needs more room, and more entrees on its lunch menu, but is blessed with friendly wait staff and serves breakfast all day. It also wins points for concocting the King Kong of biscuits – a whopping 4” square by 2” tall hunk of bread that stands so tall and proud I’m thinking it doesn’t yet know it’s a biscuit. I had it with Golden Bullets (Scotch Eggs), a dish that is very good, very filling but unfortunately, very expensive - $9.95 plus your drink - for two eggs and fried potatoes. The cost is obviously in the extensive prep work. The eggs were hard boiled, then covered with a blend of maple sausage and bacon, then coated with Panko bread crumbs, then fried until golden brown and served with a homemade maple mustard sauce, potatoes fried with onions . . . and that wicked biscuit. If you’re gonna order Golden Bullets, I suggest you arrive hungry. I had it at noon, and no appetite to speak of for the next 20 hours. The Gold Rush also works magic with fried green tomatoes. 4.5 stars

Whereas the cheeseburger had a decent flavor to it, the burger itself was extremely thin almost felt like a piece of jerky. I expect to pay extra for additional toppings like cheese and bacon, but 50 each for every other topping is WAY expensive. A head of lettuce is like 2.00 I paid 50 cents for barely I shred. A tomato is about 1.00 I paid 50 cents for a very thin slice. This place makes all their money apparently by charging you for toppings that 99% of other restaurants that serve burgers include as a base. I wont be going back personally.

IV heard great reviews about this place so we enjoyed our walk down Broadway and stepped in the gold rush !!! Well !!!! We waited to be seated , and we waited and waited and waited and it was unbelievable !!! Not one person acknowledged we were there beside the other 6 people standing behind us !!! I noticed the employees were not smiling and looked like they did not give a crap about anything to do about working !! Sorry , lost me and my familys business !!!

Had breakfast with one of my high school classmates from the 1953 graduating class. The food was good and the service was excellant. Perhaps it may have been the person I was with as everyone in the place seemed to know him. Parking on the street. Breakfast was eggs and bacon and it was cooked and presented well. Not a lot of breakfast places in downtown Paducah. This one is at the intersection of Broadway and 4th.

The food was amazing and service was wonderful. We got there early on a Saturday so missed the crowd. By the time we left, it was packed with a line out the door. Portions are huge for the cost and coffee was good. The place is small so you might have a wait but its worth it. Their unusual menu of omelets was a fun thing to read and talk about. A must try in Paducah!

Great food, excellent service. If you come to Paducah, you must eat here! Breakfast is served all day, they boast creative daily specials, and youre sure to leave satisfied. Bon appetit! Also, the owners have a lot of integrity, take pride in their work, value family, and treat the employees well. You have no reason to not give them a shot.

Ive looked thru the other reviews. Guess we were there on a off day. Visited for lunch. Food was ok. We all tried different things. All of us agreed food was a bit bland. Server was pleasant. The salad bar was nice though. Will run about 8 or 9 dollars with tip for lunch.

I order pork tenderloin n got steak, so I ask the cook about it. I explain to him I order the pork tenderloin n he said oh no we dont have pork tenderloin it is a mistake on the menu but didnt offer to fix it. Due to health issues I cant eat steak.

I loved the high quality, fresh home style cooking here. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Very quaint, but plenty of seating upstairs and in the back. I will drive from St Louis, just for the bread pudding waffles!

I hated the approach of the server...not welcoming at all..need to be local and a certain "persuasion" to be welcome to eat there... Very rude...never again

Excellent hometown cooking and great service. The Cajun Mac n cheese is awesome, but if you really want a memorable heart attack, get the Eggscaliburger!

Theres no other place like it. They have very good biscuits, signature bisciuts, significantly better than any other around.
