I thought about giving it 4 stars, but not because we waited a while for a table. Sunday brunch at any place worth going should have a wait. They use a nice app so you know where you are in line and can do some perusing of local shops. Thought about 4 stars because we waited a long time to get our food after we ordered. I was hangry. Pancakes had clearly been under a heat lamp for a while waiting for a chicken sandwich. But Im sticking with 5 stars for a few reasons: prices are very reasonable. Ambiance is inviting and comfortable. The lemon blueberry pancakes are big and fluffy and flavorful and Ill dream about them. The coffee is outstanding and they offer almond milk for us lactose-free people. The bloody was quality, and mimosas and shandies at other tables looked well-enjoyed. The chicken sandwich which took questionably long to arrive before us was the best its consumer had ever had. Very nice wait staff too. Will be going back!

Food was great - but the server mixed up the billing process when she picked up the checks and credit cards from our table and the one next to us. Both charges got put on my account. Initially I was told to bring in my statement to prove the charge. I had to point out that they have a modern, digital POS system and could easily search for the transaction based on time, date, server name or last (4) digits of my card number so it wasnt necessary for me to come in (20+ miles one-way).. (3) calls in one afternoon resulted in the Owner - Pete telling me hed fix it but for me to keep checking my account. Now (5) business days later - the erroneous charge increased to include the tip left by the other couple. Nothing has been done to correct the problem. another call and still waiting on a call back! Good experience turned bad due to lack of competence.

Okay so my over all experience was 4 stars. To break it down I would be; -5 stars for food. Food was awesome, a lot of different menu items, but not like your traditional breakfast place, all their menu items have a twist and fusion to them. Very exciting makes me want to go back and try everything. -5 stars for ambiance. Decorated very modern, fresh, you dont feel like you are in a dinghy place. -3 stars for service. Although our food came out pretty quick for being 7 of us, our waitress must have been having an off day because for one person she forgot the Orange Juice, his order came in wrong and he got the wrong bread with the order. I felt bad because it all happened to one person. But its not something that would turn me away.. for now. So like i said overall I give it 4 stars and will definitely be back.

Portion to price is very good. Im a big guy and couldnt finish all my potatoes, omelette and pancakes. Coffee was typical restaurant coffee and the fresh orange juice was tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean to the eye but always LOUD. It makes it very difficult to have a conversation. I would think some vertical sound baffles in the rafters might help with that but idk its just loud. The staff is awesome and friendly. I had the frenchie omelette which was overly mushroomy but good. Also the mushrooms really werent wild but more large buttons that were sautéed with the onion. What was really good were the blueberry lemon pancakes and the honey bunny cakes. Not sold on the cinnamon roll pancakes. I would come again if not busy but will pass on this during busy times for a different breakfast place.

Ate here on a Wednesday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. Waited over 25 minutes for a chicken fried chicken skillet and the bananas foster type French toast dish. Skillet food was very unevenly heated. French toast was excellent though. Regular coffee was unusually good for a diner, well-above-average. Regular sized cappuccino was $3.75 and very small quantity . Quality wasnt anything special either . Server visits were far too infrequent. To be fair, I told the server about the unevenly heated Skillet, and she brought me a whole second one to bring home. I do greatly appreciate them making good on a mistake like that, but the food wasnt spectacular enough that I would necessarily go back anyway

Ive been to Buttermilk one time before and returned last weekend for breakfast. We had the most traumatizing experience. My husband ordered an Ice Tea and once he finished it he noticed a Nova-Pen wrapper at the bottom of his cup. This wrapper is from an insulin pin!!! Just the thought of possible blood contamination made us sick. If we werent with friends we would have got up and left. We informed our waitress of the needle wrapper and she just replaced the tea with a new one. The worst part is we didnt even get a free tea out of the deal. They didnt even make an effort to make it up to us. Im very concerned about the cleanliness of this restaurant.

They have a great friendly staff and the food is amazing! I had the Fried Green Tomatoes Eggs Benedict...the combination of flavors was truly wonderful. The sauce had a hint of Chipotle and the batter on the tomatoes was light and crispy. The side of fried potatoes were seasoned to perfection. My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken Skillet and he said it was one of the best he has eaten. The Chicken was full of flavor and juicy. The seasonings they used were a great compliment to the other ingredients. They even have Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice that was very sweet. We will definitely be returning.

I love buttermilk but last couple visits have been complete misses! Not sure if the chefs changed, but the quality of the dishes have dropped significantly. The red rooster dish I ordered most recently had the driest sweet potatoes Ive ever seen (they looked like prunes), avocados were brownish, cheese was flaky (it looked like it came straight from the fridge) and the chorizo had NO moisture. The thing looked like it came straight from a microwave. A single occurrence wouldve been okay with me but two to three times is a bit excessive for a respectable place like Buttermilk!

The food is always good and plentiful at Buttermilks. Get a breakfast with fried chicken if you havent already. Go very early on weekends if you can, or you will wait a long time to be seated. My son got reservations on line at 930. It recommended arriving at 1030. We were seated after 1130. Being three blocks down hill from the shopping district means you are sort of stuck staring at the other people waiting. The food is really good though, upscale quality with nice size portions. We always have some to take home.

Great experience!!!! Delicious food! Absolutely amazing! We went there today and had a fantastic sever (Fanny). We had a little hiccup with a waitress (not ours but for a differnt table) We met the owner Pete who was VERY POLITE! He was a great guy and took time to listen to us! Super important as a business owner! He took care of us! We ended up having a great conversation and we will be back for sure! Cant wait to go back and bring our friends!!!! And can I say one more time the food was amazing!!!
