Its as if someones very cleverly plucked a pub right off its cobbled Dublin street and plunked it down on Church. The fish and chips are exactly like I remember from that summer in Ireland, the atmosphere is warm, sophisticated yet relaxed, and family-friendly, and when there isnt a live group performing, the proprietors taste for the Pogues and classic Motown is a refreshing change of pace from the hipster-folk stuff that seems to permeate so many other bars and pubs in the area. Theres more to their menu than pub grub, too-- their smoked salmon with capers was sublime with a finger of 15-year Dalwhinnie, and my Mum, always picky about her fish, adored the rainbow trout from the Catch of the Day menu. For a vegetarian option, try the marinated portobello sandwich-- you wont regret it! With the Premier League starting today, this is absolutely going to be my place of choice to catch a match and a pint.

Ive actually only been in here for afternoon tea, not to drink/eat pub food. Its incredibly surprising that youd find amazing afternoon tea in an Irish pub! But, my experience here was pretty wonderful! We had tiny sandwiches, delicious scones (with clotted cream, of course), cute pastries, and a pot of fragrant black tea. They had a candle tea-warmer for our pot of tea, which other places dont even do (leading to pots of cold tea). It felt really cozy -- not at all like my experiences with high tea at hotels (more posh). I would totally do the afternoon tea again, and maybe even stop by for some pub food next time!

The Celtic Knot operates as more of a European-style pub than anything. Its the perfect place to kick back with a couple of Guinnesses and talk the night away with good friends or have a nice, cozy, relaxed date night. It is not a place for in-and-out bar crawling with service in 20 minutes. It is a place to pass the time in a good old Irish way. The Irish-est things on the menu are what you should get - dont come here and just get a burger. The Full Monty is a perfect Irish breakfast. There is great live music some nights, and a nice back room for large parties. I highly recommend visiting the Knot.

So nice to find a great pub right next to campus. Went in alone after getting in from the west coast for a late dinner and beer and had a lovely chat with another traveler passing through. Decent grilled cheese but next time Ill be sure to get some Irish fare. Not bad Guinness for the states too, and there is a lovely Irish session on Tuesdays. Oddly enough it seems that here, the session is generally ignored by the rest of the patrons, which is not what Im used to, but good music all around. Ill be back again and again before I leave town.

I love the Celtic Knot. The atmosphere is snug and cozy, and the food is always delicious with a comforting feel. They have live music and events a lot that are great too. I am a bit of a night owl, and have discovered that the Knot has an actual late night menu as well. Its a smaller menu, however, you can get actual food here at late night hours. Whenever I have family or friends in town visiting, the Knot is one of those local standards that never disappoints!

Ive been here many times, and Ive always left stuffed and happy. This is a great place to bring a date for dinner. The fish and chips is truly wonderful, some of the best Ive had. The service is adequate and pleasant, if a bit slow. They have a very nice selection of beer on tap, and they know how to pull a Guinness. Often they will have live music to enjoy with your meal. Definitely a cozy little spot a little off the main drag.

I come here at least a couple of times a year because this spot is a favorite among my friends. All I can say is: fish and chips and bacon-wrapped dates. Thats about all I ever get here, because theyre so good! Ive had their fried calamari and mussels before, but I wasnt impressed. This is a good place to grab some pub food and drink a beer.

This is a solid pub-like restaurant with well-done classics like fish and chips, shepherds pie, etc. The beers are good and the prices are what youd expect. The ambiance is great. Nice lighting thats just dim enough but enough to read a menu. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back.

This place has a really homey atmosphere with soft lighting. Theyve got a huge flatscreen TV by the bar if youre into that. My waitress, Erika, was really nice and courteous, and the food came surprisingly quick! I really suggest the Cupcake of the Month, the sweet potato cupcake for $5.

I have been to this place several times. They are pretty consistent with their food and they are a little pricier than some of the other restaurants in the area. They have some pretty funky desserts and great beers. Great spot to check out in the summer when they let you sit outside!

Try the Celtic plate to try the fish and chips, lamb stew, and cabbage and corned beef. All excellect. Atmosphere provided by a pickup group of local musicians. Just local folks pick and grinning and having fun. You will too.

Great pub food and a super relaxed atmosphere. Love the shepards pie, beef pasty, and fish and chips (get the gravy for your chips). You can even get a Scotch Egg in the summer. Kids eat for free on Wednesdays.

The veggie selection is so-so. We show up for the annual WBEZ 2-for-1 deal, but its not good enough to stop by more often than that. Beer selection is decent, with the taps being mainly Diageo Irish/British.

Great pub food, I wouldnt get any of the fancy items on the menu. Great for dijning with friends or spontaneously. In a great area for shopping and entertainment so recommended for a night on the town.

Definitely a top-notch Irish pub. The menu is quite extensive and everything I tried was fantastic. Atmosphere is a bit nicer than your average pub, and so is the food and service

The service was so slow, I think we were forgotten about. (Over and over) the fish was soggy on the bottom. The portions were small on what we ordered anyway.

Everything was good. The staff was nice and the food is OK. Their portion sizes are a little off, so dont expect to be full unless you order multiple entrees.

The Celtic Knot is a great Irish culture themed atmosphere in terms of menu, music, and architecture. They are great supporters of soccer too.

The chicken fingers are amazing and the curry fries are dangerously addictive. Love the atmosphere and dedication to all things Irish!

Some of the best fish and chips Ive had in Chicago. They are masters of the fryer. Despite being a bar they were very kid friendly

Great whisky and scotch selections. Great live music. Best part: no TVs! Thats a big plus for me, and makes it a real pub.
