Loved this place. There was an eclectic mix of people and a warm, cozy bar atmosphere. We did not eat at Wilde, so I cant comment on the food other than to say it looked good for standard pub fare. The place was packed when we wandered in about 10pm on a Friday night. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks. The crowd was lively but not rowdy and the music was just right for the crowd - pop/alternative mixed with house, and loud enough to border on clubby (which I liked), but not so loud you couldnt enjoy a meal or carry on a conversation. The bar tenders were well versed on unusual drink recipes and of course your usual list of beers on tap for an Irish pub. There were two bars in this place and a couple of fireplaces - one surrounded by bookshelves (with real books!). It really warmed the place up. The name of the establishment ("Wilde") is a reference to the Irish born writer and poet, Oscar Wilde, whom the owners chose the theme the restaurant after. Well go back.

I had walked past Wilde a number of times and was always intrigued by the facade and planned on going. However, I never made it there before moving away from Lakeview. I met two friends there one night a few months back and let me tell you, I cant wait to go back. The bar itself was bumping when we got there and we had to wait for 30 minutes before getting a table. The drink selection is great and the food looked so good... it was hard to choose just one thing! I decided to get the mac & cheese small plate and it was literally the most amazing mac & cheese Ive ever had. If youre the type who only likes Kraft mac & cheese and detests and additional toppings or ingredients, this may not be for you. But if you love awesome cheesy deliciousness, I insist you try it. It has the normal mac & cheese taste, but elevated with bacon, tomato, caramelized onions and a garlic crumb topping. Simply delectable!

Wilde is the Luol Deng of restaurants - great at nothing but good at everything. No aspect of Wilde makes it a must try, but if youre looking for consistently good food and a comprehensive beer list you wont be disappointed. There isnt a huge menu to choose from, but you cant go wrong with anything on it. The mac and cheese, curry, and pot pie definitely hit the spot. What Wilde lacks in menu options they certainly make up for (and then some) with their beer selection. All kinds of local, national, and international brews are featured. The atmosphere is great for a low key night out. If one is available, try to get a table in the library for a more intimate ambiance. The service can leave a bit to be desired on occasion and its not the cheapest place to get a drink in the area, but everything else more than makes up for those small flaws.

Im not sure why other Irish pubs have received awards for their fish and chips. As many as Ive been to, and Ive been to tons, this place has the best. And the portions are huge. Most of the food is generous in size and will definitely make you leave hating yourself from over stuffing. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They check on you frequently and serve you quickly. The atmosphere is extremely cozy and the decor is excellent. Depending on how we feel, we will go sit in the library section or over in a booth for more privacy. This certainly is my favorite place to just hang out with several drinks or to gorge on some great food. Last year, we had the Thanksgiving meal and it was to die for. Well done.

Two out of the three meals were satisfactory. The salad was okay. The creamy baked mac and cheese with bacon was delicious, the third meal was a shepherds pie with cheese on top. The shepherds pie was a disappointment. The cheese on top was burnt and left an aftertaste , the most interesting part were the two full-size carrots that had been slightly grilled on the outside but were completely raw on the inside as garnish. It was humorous to see these giant carrots extending over both sides of the bowl it was also served with some type of garlic bread that was so hard as to be completely inedible. It was sad to have such a nice ambience ruined by mediocre food

A very nice change of pace from the standard bar and grill fare. Decor is very homey. We love sitting next to one of the cozy fireplaces in colder weather. There is also a lot of great artwork referencing Irish artists and events that make for interesting viewing while waiting for the rest of your party to arrive. The menu is fun in its authenticity. The addition of curry flavors is wholly appropriate for a modern Irish pub in recognition of the Indian influences on the United Kingdom. Staff is always fun and professional. Food has always been delicious.

Let just say, I wouldnt come back for the food. The menu options were okay...but I felt like I was overpaying for such small portions. Our waiter was great, but when we first walked in, I did not feel very welcomed by the hostess. She didnt even greet us when my son and I first walked in...kind of just looked us up and down like we werent supposed to be there. Overall, I thought everything couldve been better. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. Maybe Ill just come back only for drinks.

This place is so convenient because its super close to my house. Ive been there so many times and I have to say I still have a lot of beer to try from their menu. They have a great assortment! Food wise, their burgers and pastas are amazing, but their onion rings are unbeatable! Huge and they come with a great sauce. The sweet potatoes are fine as well. Talk to their waiters, they are good at guiding you through the drinks menu. The only problem is that the place is so dark... Its a bit annoying.

Wilde Bar is an excellent, slightly upscale bar & restaurant. The beer menu and whiskys selection are both large and well-crafted. Ive always found a few interesting choices or new surprises, particularly if opting for their flights. It tends to be loud and crowded in a very pleasant way, so very fun but not the place for an intimate date. The food is quite good (if very rich). The cocktails are well made and inventive, though they dont quite always live up to the promise of their concepts.

I didnt expect to go into an Oscar Wilde themed Irish Pub and order chicken curry, but I did and I liked it. Our table also shared Lobster Corn Dogs for an appetizer. This creative twist on an American classic went over well with us. The appetizer was cute. The meals were hearty and required to go boxes. Cocktails were delicious. Staff was attentive. The setting, in a booth in the back, was homey and almost romantic. Wilde is definitely comfortable. A place I will return to.

Never been disappointed by Wilde. With an interior designed to look part high end pub and part library, complete with bookshelves and a fire place, Wilde has a cozy, yet spacious interior. The stain glass dome lights are a nice touch. The food is always delicious, with traditional fare like bangers and mash and the meat pie coming in large portions that are very filling. Im not sure why it is listed as three $, as I dont think of it being that expensive.
