I took my friend to The Bagel after he had a major shoulder surgery ( it was 4:30pm and he hadnt eaten all day). We parked in the parking lot for The Bagel and we were booted and charged $140. The manager on duty at The Bagel was extremely rude and had horrible customer service. She did not understand why we would need to stop in CVS and pick up his pain, antibiotics, and anti-nausea medicine prior to eating. All medications require you to take with food. I am a frequent customer of The Bagel and often bring many friends in and recommend them as well. However, due to the way that my friend and I were treated, I will never be returning. I am very disappointed with The Bagel.

This listing says "sandwich," but its much more than that. They have some pretty good specials that are complete meals, filling salads, and if youre into gnashing, some traditional Jewish fare. The free dill pickle spears and bagel chips (kind of like the salsa and chips at a Mexican place!) are a nice touch. As with Coopers over on Belmont, this place has a large parking lot where you can leave your car after having something to eat before heading over to the Timeline Theatre space a couple of blocks away. In that hood, this is a huge plus. Just be sure to leave your car information at the cashier so you wont be towed!! (I have never had a problem.)

Ive been frequenting The Bagel for brunch for just over a year now, and maybe Im just lucky, but Ive never had to wait to be seated. Its always been busy, but it seems as though they are the perfect size to accommodate the demand they get. If youre eating breakfast/brunch here, you need to get the lox platter. It comes with all sorts of veggies and a very generous heap of smoked salmon. The french toast is also pretty good...but you should get the lox platter. One potential downside: they dont serve any booze. Perhaps this is why they dont routinely have a 90 minute wait on Sundays?

The Bagel is as much a great scene as it is a classic Jewish delicatessen. Great matzo ball that even Grandma would be proud of. Tasty breakfast all day, bottomless cups of coffee and pickles like you always had a pesach. The Bagel is always a good take bound to be a yenta or two to entertain you and they actually deliver as well to a surprisingly big area. Super pastrami sandwich and some of the better omelets you can find. Be prepared to wait on the weekend but its worth it.

Ive never eaten in but the Bagels take out service is far from warm. One day last week I stood in the lobby for 5 minutes without so much as a, "Hello, how can I help you?". The following day I decided to call ahead and they refused to take my order over the telephone because they were particularly busy that day, even after I informed the man on the phone that I was in transit as we spoke. Stellas, across the street, is MUCH better.

Broadway decor + Bagels = a win/win for this Jewish deli lover! The Bagel is a must try for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Huge fan of the Salami and Eggs (your choice of diced or sliced!) and their blintzes. On the sandwich side I love the open face turkey and brisket - both with a potato pancake on the side. Love the bottomless cups of coffee and diet coke too!

Excellent breakfast place. Although I typically only go here for their breakfast bagel sandwiches. Very cheap and packed full of deliciousness. Their actual sit down menu is a little more expensive. Fairly standard american breakfast. My husband claims their challah french toast is to die for, but hes still alive so theres that.

Just ate at the Bagel this morning. The food was pretty good although it would be nice if they had more veggie options for vegetarians. The cabbage soup was excellent (it happens to be vegetarian!). It would be nice if they served sweet potato fries as a a substitute for regular fries, which I found to be very greasy/heavy.

I always enjoy a nice corned beef sandwich and the bagel has an excellent one. Also enjoy the HUGE bowl of mish mash soup. Can often share portions or take left overs for another mean. love the pickles as they are very light almost cucumbers! Enjoy the toast / breads provided. Recommended for a great lunch or dinner.

Zero. They do not care like they do at old orchard . Watching people leave because they cant order their food and its not even busy. The employees, more than 3, are standing around trying to make eyes w everyone and I wish theyd take my order. Walking out. My advice ,call a head, this is beyond frustrating. Zero stars.

I love The Bagel. They have the best salmon - always fresh and wild Alaskan - none of the bad farm-raised fish. They have delicious cabbage soup. In the summer, I love their beet soup. And fantastic Brenda and the entire staff there is great. Such a wide menu - youre bound to find something you like.

Great food, and I usually order lunch items (vs breakfast) great reubens, corned beef sandwiches - the matzo ball soup is delicious. The pickle appetizer doesnt do it for me, but everyone else always enjoys them. Major plus: the bagel has a parking lot and I love their smiley face cookies.

Parking sucks, but the food is outstanding and homey. Pickles and bread are brought out before your meal, and the menu features a top notch selection of Jewish deli favorites as well as hot diner style food as well. For a real treat, get the Mish Mash Soup. It is simple yet filling!

Great place to chat over a sandwich, because the service is slow and unhurried. So its not the place to sit down and have a meal if you have a time constraint, take out is available for those who do. The menu is large, but stick to the classic deli fare and you wont go wrong.

Lots of interesting stuff here. Im not Jewish or particularly well versed in their cuisine, but my dining partner got a delicious bread pudding of sorts - but with noodles. I settled on a bagel and was not disappointed. A cute neighborhood place for dine in or carry out.

This is a prime location on Broadway street. This Jeish deli/diner is decorated with Broadway show decor. You cant go wrong if you chose to eat her for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love the deserts in the front bakery section. #30daychallenge #chicago

I hadnt vomited in eight years. Thank you, Bagel Restaurant & Deli, and your spectacularly over-priced tuna melt, for changing that. I ate there for lunch yesterday, and havent moved far from my bathroom since. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

When my signifcant other and I are in the mood for Jewish-style deli food, we always go here. Coming here, Ive learned to appreciate how amazing lox and matzah balls. The Sundays crowd is the best and I look forward to going again soon.

The food may not quite be at 5-star level but the nostalgia for me is off the charts. This is a neighborhood spot with deli food that you must try, if only for the atmosphere. But do yourself a favor and get the matzo ball soup.
