truth: before this was hip, it was my neighborhood kosher butcher. it still is. but its gotten better. we are now requested by kosher keeping friends to board planes with suitcases full of sausages and hot dogs and corned beef. cant say i blame our west coast friends. it really is the BEST home made kosher sausage weve ever had (are you listening, LA??) and the lady at the counter will signal to you if the onion rolls are not fresh. listen to her.

It doesnt look like much; I doubt they have updated a thing since the 1950s. But, you arent going there for ambience; youre going there for kosher beef. As a customer, they have a few coolers with pre-cut meats and hot dogs and the meat case with the friendly butcher to take care of you. And hell make you a corned beef sandwich if youd like to take it with you. Get the garlic sausage.

My son went to New York for higher education, met a lot of people, and tells me that there are so many Chicagoans who love Romanian meat that they organize and ship a truck full of Romanian meat to NY at least once a year. There is simply nothing that compares to Romanian Delis meats in New York. With there own butchering and smoking room, they are in a class by themselves!

Great kosher meat products + sandwiches made in site. The interior could be remodeled and the hours are meh, but hey their business is 90% wholesale. Nonetheless, kosher keeping public from Midwest and beyond comes there to load up. Must try the beer sticks (beef sticks)!

This is an honest to goodest sausage factory. They make the best natural casing hot dogs in Chicago. And this being a HOT DOG Town is saying something. -Great salami and balony too.

Poor customer service and they are rude. The place looks filthy and outdated. Their salami is mediocre at best. Hungarians own salami was 10 times better.

Amazing Salami and Beef Sticks. They have sausages prepared without paprika, this is good for people who arent allowed to eat nightshade vegetables.
