This is a fine establishment close to Midway airport. There is a sports-themed restaurant right off the lobby, which I did not try. They have an indoor pool, which is not very big, but my son had a great time until it got a bit crowded. We also enjoyed playing foosball, and there was a ping-pong table as well. The staff was friendly, however the room was pretty noisy. The air-conditioner worked well, but it was very loud. We had to turn it off to sleep. The doors to the stairway would SLAM shut even if you held it until it was less than a foot open, dont get a room near there. Our second room was at the front of the hotel and we were often could hear people talking/yelling as they were getting in or out of the hotel. The room was in decent shape, but it definitely could have been cleaner. Not that it was really dirty, it just had that well-used and never sanitized feeling. The hotel is very close to Midway, but it can take a long time to get there if you rely on the free shuttle. If the airport is busy at all it will fill up (it is servicing 9 or 10 hotels), and you are stuck waiting another 20 minutes or so. This hotel seems to be the last stop as well so you get to visit all the other hotels before getting dropped off. The trip to downtown takes about 30-45 minutes if you take the shuttle to the airport, walk to the "Orange Line" train, and take it in. A taxi will cost about $30 for the trip downtown, depending on traffic and exactly where you go.

My three sons, grandson and I drove from Scranton, Pa to Chicago over night for the Yankee/Cubs series in May. We arrived at 9:15 am and were VERY warmly greeted by Danielle, who informed us that our room was ready for us. UNBIELEVABLE! Im well traveled and that has never happed before. After we freshened up, she proceeded to spend 20 minutes telling us about Chicago, what to see, where to eat, how to get around. On Saturday as my son Brian and I were having breakfast in Coaches, a gentleman who was a Building Inspector for Holiday Inn came over a talked to us about the city, pizza Wrigley etc. for a half hour. He had nothing to do with customer relations. What a professional! The five of us stayed in the same room. The maid service was outstanding, the room spacious, clean and convenient. I have to say that this was the best hotel I ever stayed in. On a scale of 1 to 10, it is a 12!!!!! with second place an 8. I could go on but I would like to add that everyone we met in Chicago was fantastically friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus drivers, the CTA workers, the fans and staff at Wrigley, everyone. What a difference from New York! Chicago is now our new BEST CITY. Thank you all for one of the greatest vacations of our lives. 5 Yankee Fans

My stay was for three days... I will start with the good things. It was very quite and I loved that my kids eat free. Now the bad- when I arrived with 6 big luggages and two small kids knowone was called to help me into the loddy, There was 4 co workers in the lobby and all they did was stare. They did not call anyone to help or try to help me themselves, instead they grouped around each other and finished a personal conversation while watching me struggle!!! I came down to Coaches the inhouse restaurant to eat that night and again knowone came to greet me. The place was pretty empty but there was not a clean booth avail for my family of four. I waited for someone to approach me so I could ask if they could clean a booth. The bar was empty and the two co-workers that was working the bar did not achknowledge me. Another co worker came from the back, refuse to make eye contact or even look my way and walked right pass me without saying a word. I turned around and went to TGIF for dinner that night. The morning was very different. The breakfast crew was very attentive and happy to help me get my kids pancakes- will I stay here again NO!!! Its not a bad hotel the rooms are nice and quite I like free wifi, but I am big on service and one morning of great service is not enough for me to come back.

Convenient location to Midway airport and a good value. The rooms were clean and up to date. A few minor complaints was that the mini fridge in our room, which had no temperature control, was actually too cold and froze all of our drinks. Additionally our room seemed to stay humid even though we were running the air conditioner. This kept our towels from drying and the room from being as fresh as possible. Again these were minor and did not detract from our overall stay. All of the staff we dealt with were incredibly courteous and I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We ended up here after a really long really hard day of flying and they were awesome!! Seriously nice, attentive, nice rooms, great pillows. We were all so happy to be here and I wanted you all to know this. The next morning on the way back to the airport, the nice girl in the downstairs cafe made me an oatmeal to go and it was perfect in a to go cup, hot and delicious and less than $5.00 and it truly saved my life as we continued on our "mad hatter" airline experience. Thanks for being a calm in the storm.

My 8 year old Daughter Had a room reserved 1night here today for a 9th Birthday Pool Party. All this was explained at the time of the reservation. When her mother arrives for check in at 3, the hotel says they must charge an extra $200. Thats not right..I just dont understand this. I paid for limo service for her and her friends to the hotel just to for this...Thanks for ruining everything my daughter wanted for her birthday! Thats what you call Great Customer Service!

I didnt stay at the hotel rather I ate and had drinks at the Coaches Bar & Grill. TGI Fridays around the corner was packed so we went to Coaches. Nice hotel bar. Food was much better than expected although not a huge selection which isnt necessarily a bad thing. Drinks were average but not too expensive. There service however was slow. Two servers that were friendly but would never cut it at that pace in a busy restaurant.

We stayed there once before and loved the place. This time they transferred my call to a timeshare scam right after I reserved a room and they gave them all my information. Thanks a lot Holiday Inn! You would not think they would be so free with customers info right after their computers were hacked and customer CC numbers were stolen.
