What a disappointing experience! Im not sure how this place pulled such a high rating but this was possibly the worst Chinese weve ever had and definitely the worst in Chicago. In retrospect, our first clue should have been when the waitress, who was very nice, brought us sugar with the green tea. The appetizer assortment was a combo of overfried horrors. The potsticker sauce, instead of drowning out the dumpling taste, only managed to make it worse. The mustard was so watered down that it wouldnt even coat the food and the other, technicolored colored sauce was too scary to taste. I can understand cheap meat in dumplings, but how do you go so wrong on the egg rolls, which were just cabbage and a few other vegetables? The kung pao chicken was more like sweet chicken, with barely a hint of spiciness, but at least it was edible. The peapods, black mushrooms and bamboo shoots, however, had to be murdered in soy sauce to cover up the ridiculous amount of *sugar* in the dish. Thank god the rice was fine! And, as a finale, I kid you not, even the fortune cookies sucked, with a weird aftertaste. So, beware: Bamboo Garden = cheap and sugary

If I could give the Bamboo Garden a negative -5 stars I absolutely would. Their unauthentic, grotesque Chinese cuisine is not even befitting to feed to my dog. I ordered the General Tso chicken, vegetabld fried rice and egg rolls for pickup and Im so glad I came to pick it up versus having it delivered to my home. It was revulsion at first sight and the chicken was NOT FULLY COOKED. Can some one say, "City Health code violation?" Also, its a Chinese establishment managed by a horribly rude Hispanic woman who absolutely had no sense of remorse when I showed her my ill-prepared food. She even went as far as trying not to reimburse me for a FULL refund. I will never eat from establishment ever again. Caution: Visiting Patrons Beware.

My Chinese grandma, named chinghong de, came to visit me from China and she wanted some authentic Chinese food so i took her here. When we arrived , they did not bow to her and served her pop from a can and she was extremely disappointed in the restaurant and In me . I now live in shame for the rest of my life all because i recommended that restaurant.

Bamboo Garden is the only Chinese delivery option in the near north side where you can get a more upscale chinese restaurant cuisine/quality of food. Prices are resonable. Your check might be $3-4 bucks more than if you went with a cheap-o option, but the food is excellent and the portions pretty big. I highly recommend Bamboo Garden.

Amazing food, even reheated the day after. Service was pretty great. This place is BYOB, which is awesome, because Binnys is about a block away. Special note: "spicy" means typical restaurant spicy, not actually spicy. I am not a fan of spicy food, but was perfectly happy with my fiances "spicy" dish.

This little hole in the wall is in my opinion, one of the BEST chinese places in Chicago. You dont come for the decor, but you stay for the food. its pretty amazing. I always looks empty but I think its mainly a carry out place so dont be intimidated to try even if there is nobody there.

Delicious and flavorful! I was just looking for some basic shrimp fried rice but what was given to me was excellent. Huge shrimp with lots of stir fried egg and other ingredients. One portion is enough for two!

Youre classic comfort Chinese joint. It wont win any awards but it will hit the spot when you are walking around not knowing what to eat. Would recommend. They make their own sauces that are pretty tasty.

WORST CHINESE FOOD EVER. Chicken tasted like rubber. I ordered beef & received a slab of "meat" that was was than rubber. Meat is in quotation marks because Im not convinced what I just consumed was meat.

Great food, good service. I cant believe this place isnt crowded. They use quality cuts of meat, at least for the chicken (didnt try anything else). Highly recommended.

Very good. Big portions. Be ready for left overs if you cant pack a lot of food away. Price is right. Although the restaurant looks slow when you sit down on a Saturday

Chicken was low quality and mostly breading. There were even some chicken bites that were entirely breading. Would not recommend
