Its not very often you find a place like this. The food is great dont get me wrong but what impressed me the most was the service. I stay at the extended stay right down the street so I walked and as soon as I walked in the door it started pouring down rain. I was going to call a cab but the delivery guy insisted he give me a ride no charge! The owner and all the employees were super helpful and really made for a pleasant experience. I never review places, apps, or anything for that matter, but this place was so worth it. I cant say enough about the people that are there. Also, this was my first experience with Thai food. Ive never tried it and wasnt sure what to expect but the server there told me all about it and made it clear right off the bat what I was going to be getting. They tell you how hot it will be and their description is very accurate. If you dont like it hot they will not make it hot. If you do like it hot, well be prepared to have fire shooting out of your ears because they can definitely make it hot for you. I ordered a mild dish and it was the right amount of hot for me. Plus another great thing is that everyone there speaks excellent English which normally has nothing to do with anything but it makes communication so much easier. I just really loved this place and if youre ever in town you will probably see me there because this is my new favorite restaurant in Chicago. Try it and you will not be disappointed!

In my opinion, the best Thai food Ive had in the states so far. Any other place Ive been to watered down their food (literally the curry would be watery) or the food would be somehow generic and lacking flavor. At STL, however, the food is extremely tasty and authentic. Its so authentic to the point where they cant have just anyone working in the kitchen so as to ensure quality. The cook puts her heart and soul into the food and its amazing. The portions are very generous and worth the prices (honestly, other places get away with charging more for food that is no where near as good as this) Its a small, family owned and run restaurant. The husband does his best to manage the front of the store as his awesome wife manages the kitchen and mostly cooks the food herself. Theyre both superstars for doing such an awesome job, for the most part, on their own. Plus, theyre both extremely lovely people to talk to! You have to try this place at least once, especially if visiting Chicago, or make it your go to spot for Thai food if youre from here.

5 of us went for dinner at this quaint little restaurant. Maybe only 24 seats tops. We got the only table left open. The service is super slow at this restaurant. I believe they only have one chef, but I could be wrong. The appetizers were very good. We got the fresh spring rolls. The vegetables were so fresh and dipping sauce and toppings really on point. We also got the tofu satay. Delicious. I ordered the seafood pad thai. It was ok, but a little on the sweet side. Difference between the shrimp pad thai and seafood pad thai is that the seafood pad thai has calamari in it too. It took us about 20 minutes to get our first appetizer. Then another 15 minutes to get the second app. Then another 20 minutes for the entrees to start coming out, about 5 minutes for each person to get their entree. All and all dinner took almost 2 hours. If they had better turn around time with their food they could do a lot more business. The food is good, but they need to speed it up though.

I was a little surprised when I saw a Thai restaurant in the southern suburbs with such good reviews. So I order one of favorite dishes, Basil Chicken with ground chicken, Cucumber salad and shrimp rolls, in which I was never disappointed with at any Tia restaurant before tonight. Ok, the shrimp rolls were alright and the cucumber was as well. The Basil on the other hand was disappointing for a variety of reason: 1) the smell - The smell was unappetizing and reeked of something. Ugh the smell!! 2) The food itself came in what seemed to be soup, yes there was more soup than chicken. 3) Little to none of the name sake dish but tons on onion and other tasteless vegetables 4) did I mention the smell?? Maybe I am spoiled by restaurants such as Opart and Cozy noodles that have yet to disappoint me with anything lss than a great meal no matter what I ordered off then menu. For the price I paid for the food and what I received I can not recommend this to any real Tia food lover.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner, not really knowing what to expect! We were so happy we gave it a try, we had Crab Rangoon, orange chicken, a beef noodle dish (cant remember the name) and eggrolls. We loved everything! You can tell the dishes are authentic and the owner puts her heart in her cooking. We will definitely be coming back AGAIN and AGAIN!!! The owners husband was so nice and attentive to us. He warned us that their food comes in mild medium and hot. We chose medium, fully knowing he said their medium is like other places spicy, it was definitely too spicy for me. So I would suggest if you dont love your food super spicy try the mild first and add hot sauce to it! The owners even offered to remake our food for us, even though her husband told us it was spicy! Great food and great owners! Cant wait to try it again!

The place is small and unpretentious. It was my first visit and even though it was a couple of tables empty we have to wait almost ten minutes because they werent clean and with the 3 of 5 tables busy I really didnt knew why it took them so long to clean one table and get us sit. Certainly the service was all over the place. Thats been said, when it came out to the food it was really good. I ordered the Keanang Pineapple Curry and it was on point simply delicious. The chicken soup I was told it was good as well. The crab rangoon were little but more than the orders on other restaurants. They were good too. I will come again and if the service improve in my next visit, I can be a regular in the future. It will depend of the next service.

Wow, I tried this place with my girlfriend, who lives a 2 minute drive away from it before the LTHforums folks put it on the map. Ive tried Thai things on the menu and one or two Lao things off the menu (though now they apparently have a printed Lao menu as well). Crab rangoon, fried catfish salad and tom yum soup are spectacular. My GF says the green papaya salad is fantastic as well. Ill update my review after trying more Lao items - the fermented bamboo shoot dish was tasty, if a little funky (which its supposed to be). In short, great owners, great quality food and affordable.

They say never judge a book by its cover. This is one restaurant you cant judge by its appearance. The food here is extremely good. I came here as a group of 5 and we got to try many things on the menu. All passed the taste test. This is a small family-owned restaurant. The service is a bit slow. Food is cooked to order. The front could use a makeover. This is a BYOB, so I suggest you bring your drink of choice. Relax, chill-out, and enjoy the food.
