I only ever get bibimbap here; thats just a personal preference since I find it captures all the best flavors and vegetable content of other dishes at the best price point. Serving/bowl is very large and easily could make two meals so youre definitely getting your moneys worth. Complimentary pumpkin soup or red bean soup, depending on season, is a very nice touch for a starter, as is the free Yakult yogurt drink along with the check. While the bibimbap is large and full of high quality ingredients, same for the banchan, there just seems to be something lacking in the overall flavor. Its got that attractive-with-no-personality syndrome. Id recommend checking out the food court at H-Mart in Northbrook right in the middle and try their bibimbap and side-soup. It is MESMERIZINGLY DELICIOUS there and I cant place my finger on what exactly it is they put in there (perilla seed oil, MSG, and some other things that are explosively sweet and savory!). Something in the sauce and in the marinating oil on the veggies and also in the soup. So damn good. Youd have me buying two sets of bibimbap for takeout every week if you could figure that out and serve it, especially since youre much closer for me than H-Mart. Anyways, nice clean place thats a bit cold by the front table section making you feel a bit exposed, but its a huge step up from some other Korean places in the area. Maybe get the menus done professionally with Korean and English, and not just names but descriptions of ingredients and possible recommendations for alterations/changeouts. Just a few rough spots that could be polished up. Oh, staff are young dudes that are very eager to be helpful but need to reel in the energy and lean more towards that perfect balance of calm, unobtrusive, and classy. Otherwise these guys have all proven to be excellent and punctual servers which is more than can be said more most restaurants in the Chicagoland area.

Extremely clean super fast but not rushed service. Food was AWESOMENESS!! We drove by this restaurant a few times and thought it would be nice to eat there but never went in until 1/21/2012. Pleasantly surprised on the cleanliness, how attentive the wait staff is, and how wonderfully friendly everyone was including the owner. Most Korean Restaurants, in my experience, are usually very offstandish , boarding rude...Wooil was so the opposite but with the authentic flare. Throughly enjoyed my experience.

We arrived around 9:00 on a Saturday night and were seated promptly. When our waiter greeted us, he brought with him cups of tea - which I thought was a nice touch. It was also quite tasty. We ordered the Dolsot Bibimbob entreé and Samgyeop sal Dubu Kimchi side dish to share and both were authentic and delicious. The service was excellent throughout an we left satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for genuine Korean food.

I love Korean food, and this was my first time visiting Wooil. I will be sure to return. Even though I was only there to order take out, I was offered a seat and a cup of tea. They were pleasant and even offered feedback on various dishes. While it took a bit longer then I expected, I was pleasantly surpised by the selection of banchan even with my take out meal. I will be sure to return with friends to eat in!

First time Korean bbq. Lots of food. Had the big sampler for two: shrimp, scallops, clams, steak, short rib and baby octopus. It came with 6 sides and two soups. Nice place, polite staff. They were helpful when we didnt know what we were doing. We went for a early dinner, about a half dozen other tables there. We were the only white people which indicates to me it was authentic.
