This was our first visit since moving to the area. We had moved from Waukesha where we frequented a spot we never thought would be replaces as the best Chinese weve ever had. We decided to try this place after a family member recommended it to us. I can say it doesnt even compare to most Chinese restaurants Ive ever had. To start, it took 5 calls of about 10 rings each for someone to actually pick up the phone, then while we were placing our order, the person taking our order would say "okay" then hang up. We had to call back 3 times to complete our order, and even then, they never told us when we could pick it up. We tried calling again, and the phone kept ringing and no one picked up. I decided to go there right away assuming it would take 30-40 minutes like most other carry out places we frequent. I got there and went through the drive-thru. I waited 10 minutes before someone even came to greet me, even though several people walked past the window and looked at my car. When the person finally came, they said it was going to be 20-30 minutes. (Keep in mind I was already waiting maybe 35 minutes at this point) So I waited, and I kept waiting. It took 1 hour 35 minutes before I was finally driving home to bring food home. I left to pick up the food at 6:30, I wasnt driving home until after 8:00. My wife and two kids were starving. She decided to feed our youngest something different, and give her a bath while I was gone. The food wasnt even that good either. The fried rice I had was very plain. There were very few veggies in it (I got used to the place in Waukesha and their super fresh larger chunk veggies in their fried rice. My wife had the Crab Rangoon, and she said the cream was sweet, like they put a lot of sugar in the won-ton stuffing. My wife also had a chicken peanut dish that she said was really too salty and difficult to eat. I usually like to give places a second chance, but I feel this time was so bad, even if it was a better day, it wouldnt be enough to give a review beyond even 3 stars. As a family we ate a lot of carry out, and we did Chinese about 3-4 times a month. Thankfully there are two more Chinese carryout options about the same distance, plus now we have an Indian restaurant which has had both great service, and food every time we went. I hate giving negative reviews, I dont think Ive really given a negative review ever, but this experience was bad in every way. The person who recommended Fortune to us said they have never had a problem as bad as ours, but admitted to having the occasional order goof up, and long wait.

We order sweet and sour items. There is more sauce then anything perhaps two or three pieces of pineapple and a slice of green pepper the rest is sauce, with white rice and meat! Do not use the on line ordering system they lost my order, I called the restaurant for status of order one hour later and they did not have it at the restaurant and asked me to call the service they contract with to do the on line order to determine where my order is. I told them that it is their responsibility to call their service providers not mine and he hung up the phone on me. I called back and asked them again to call their on line service and was told they have three of them and didnt know which one to call, I looked at the email gave them the name their response was they are too busy to call right now! So what was left to do but to call THEIR SERVICE I took the phone number and called THEIR SERVICE PROVIDER to ask about my order, when the service answered I found out I won a trip, joy and baloney! When I pressed the number to take a pass on the trip a recorded message told me the answering service I just called can not answer any questions about order only about the trip I won and nothing else and it disconnected the call. I called the restaurant back and told them the phone number they gave me was no good to get any answers about an on line order and was told yet again that they are too busy now!. Well I placed my order 90 mins ago and I am still waiting for an answer to the confirmed on line order I placed. After insisting they do something and call THEIR contracted service provider for on line orders I was told the manager would call their service and call me back, still waiting for some answers and for my food. I think I will not hold my breath for any resolution and would suggest to you to call the restaurant directly DO NOT USE THEIR ON LINE ORDERING SERVICE. Now I am going to drive to the restaurant with the printed confirmation of my order and insist they give me the food and tell them it is for them to sort out with their provider where the payment is and not my responsibility to deal with their contracted online ordering service.

Actually this review is based on service. My daughter and I came to this restaurant by mistake last Wednesday because Google maps took us there instead of Confucius restaurant( should have been my first clue!) Since we were there, we figured we would try it. The food was fine however on my credit card statement I was charged an extra $2.50 on my bill. The restaurant/hostess/owner had the nerve to put a tip on my credit card without my approval!!! I had 2 lunch specials and water at 16.50 but $19 was charged! She must have thought we didnt tip her, got pissed and put it on herself. NOT O.K, that is stealing!!!! For 2 people a tip should not be automatically put on. The thing is I did leave $3 tip, folded in half under the white soy sauce bottle, but even if I didnt, they had NO right to charge my card extra without my approval. I disputed the charge, but have heard nothing. Any place that will do that despite how good the food is is not HONEST and deserves the lowest review. Do not support this greedy business!

I noticed another reviewer complaining about the dishes she ordered. I wont deny her right to her opinion, but Id like to point out she ordered Chinese/American dishes which one of their two menus features. The other menu features authentic Chinese dishes which is why I dine here. Jellyfish, ducks feet and tripe are there for someone who dares to try the unusual. I fall in the middle somewhere. I can recommend without reservations for even the most timid diner, their salt and pepper squid, the eggplant casserole, the shrimp stuffed tofu. the black pepper tenderloin, special fried rice dishes, any fresh rice noodle dish and the oysters on the half shell with their Chinese black beans, cilantro and jalapenos to name just a few. If you want Americanized Chinese dishes this place is not the place to go, but if you want a sample of why the Chinese are considered the repository of the worlds greatest cuisine, go no father.
