Needs to work on kinder greetings from the staff and getting takeout orders right. Gave them three chances. First time I ever went, I arrived for food pickup at 3pm on a Good Friday for fish and chips. It was close to empty inside, no one at the bar. I tried to flag down TWO waitresses, but was rudely told twice to seat myself as they zipped by. Finally was able to slow down the third to say "Im here to pick up food." Waited about 30 minutes at the bar (called food in over two hours ago at this point). Second time, I came to pick up food, ordered a chicken salad, came home and no chicken on it and they flubbed our fish and chip order. We called them up, explained and they kindly sent us a gift cert in the mail and we thought, "how awesome, a place that cares." So we dropped it. Third and last time, my mother, out of town came to visit to help as Im late in pregnancy to pick up fish and chips. She encountered the same problem not only with trying to get someome to help her pick up the food, but waited 45 minutes at the bar after calling in early and on an offpeak time. When she came home, everything was beyond cold and she asked for a lot of malt vinegar, but came back (like I did the first time) with Italian vinegar dressing. Not worth the 10 minute drive.

My #1 favorite spot to go. I cant think of a single thing wrong with Irish Times. The interior boosts a traditional Irish pub from the moment you walk in but the beer garden is the greatest part about this place. Cobblestone garden lined with tables and string lights hanging above. There is a private cottage out back for special events and parties. Seriously, go here on a nice summer day and its like youre in the Shire. The food is out-of-this-world good. From the traditional fare such as the Shepards Pie and Scotch eggs to the more modern/American whiskey wings and Pedros tacos. Dont miss out on the burgers too! The bar is what you would expect, traditional but a few good, local craft beers on tap and in cans. The staff is really what makes this place special. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Seriously, best service ever. Martin is doing a great job with this place. 10/10 with rice

Back in the day, this was one of my favorite haunts. Id even come in on the Metra from the city to visit Irish Times. Alas, times have changed for the Times. The old owner, Martin sold the bar to his nephew and while being of Irish descent, the nephew has managed to erase all Irish authenticity from this place. Today I associate Irish Times with high drink prices ($6 for a pint of Guinness), loud music of the 80s hair band metal genre not Celtic, and simply the rudest, worst service Ive ever known this side of Burger King. The women who "work" at this bar seem to take pleasure in ignoring customers, as if theyre doing you a favor just by taking your order. Food quality has dropped alongside everything else. However, on the plus side, its no longer as crowded as it once was (and for good reason). Skip this place.

We recently had a 30th birthday party at Irish Times for my wife on their back patio area. It was the perfect set up for a casual day drinking party of about 30 - 40 people. Theres shade so its not too hot in the summer and plenty of room to sit down, or just wander around. We were set up with our own waitress, who did a phenomenal job, along with their other staff!! We decided to go with an open tab and just appetizers. The food was great and the tab lasted much longer than we expected. Overall, we honestly cannot say enough great things about the party, and I think it had a lot to do with their service and atmosphere!! If you are looking for a fun place to host a party, I would highly recommend Irish Times. We will definitely be back in the future!!

I frequently order Irish Times for office lunches at my work. Everyone loves all the food, from the corned beef to the fish and chips, all of the food is amazing! I lived in Ireland for a while, and this place is the best Irish restaurant that Ive found in the states. Ive also actually been to the pub, and the atmosphere is as authentic as can be. Also, the owner, Martin, is truly one of the good guys in society, and will do anything to make sure that the customer feels at home. He is a really good guy, I give this place an enthusiastic 5 stars!

The last year or so we have been ordering carry out. Last night we ate in the restaurant. We did not like having our meal on wood boards. Where are the plates? I do not recall the traditional french fry served with fish and chips. The little basket for the fries is novelty, not traditional pub style. Also noticed one of the chairs at the bar have one missing spindle and one broken spindle. Thursday evening maybe a slow night, but I recall all nights were crowded. Hate to see another empty building.

This is the kind of experience I like as in a good pub in Ireland. No Irish Pub Company decor, just comfortable and relaxing with good Irish pub food, including the best fish and chips in Chicagoland. I love a place where you transition so naturally from families with children enjoying the food and atmosphere to the later crowd filing in for a perfect pint. When Im on the train I always make time for a stopover at Irish Times.

The corned beef was great! Ive never had it like they do. Its so light but filling at the same time. I split this meal with my mother. A must try! Also, when we had it, it wasnt around st. Patricks day. Ive noticed if you order it from other restaurants in a month that is not March, its gross.

This was a great Irish pub. The food is good. They are constantly playing Irish folk music and have quiet a few big tvs with sports on. The people working here are very nice and they even serve Irish coffee here with black coffee and Jameson. Overall a very nice place.

Great place to host a party! We recently held a birthday party in the back cottage, and Stephanie was wonderful to work with in planning the event. All of our guests had a nice time, the food was really good, and the birthday girl was very happy. Thanks, Irish Times!

From the friendliness of the service to the quality of the food, its everything you could ask for an more. I took my kids after heading to Brookfield Zoos Zoo Lights, and even in the early evening, the place is as kid friendly as any parent could want.

The fish n chips are so good, flaky / crisp breading. Delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor and visit during the Spring and Fall when the weather is perfect out in the tree covered beer garden out back.

We keep coming back here for the stew, but really everything is great. Staff is friendly, everything we had tried is delicious, and there is a large patio out back with heaters and a tent (maybe only when theyre expecting a crowd).
