This is truly like no other food experience youre going to get in Chicago or possible the whole country. This is South African cuisine almost identical to what youd experience in South Africa. The savory pies are absolutely delicious like nothing youll find in America. My wife is from SA and Ive been there twice and when we found out about this place we made the hour+ drive and it would have been worth another couple hours. Well be back in just a couple days to get some of their bunny chows which are only available at certain times. Pepper steak pie is phenomenal along with the sausage roll. But we took home a bunch of frozen ones to try them all. This place is a true taste of South Africa in Chicago. Try it and you wont be dissaponted!

Ordered ahead since it was recommended. Pies were ready when we arrived. They dont have a lot on hand if you just walk in since they want them fresh for you. Definitely call ahead to order. We tried every pie they had and 2 of the desserts. *Every* one of them was perfect! Very flaky delicious crust, the fillings were flavorful, thick, and chunky. The fillings were so good they could be served just on their own as a stew. Service was great, friendly, no problems. I highly recommend Pie Boss.

If you like savory pies like pot pie, you need to try this place. All of their ingredients are fresh. They make the crusts even. The food is delicious. My personal favorite is the pasty, which is a hand pie filled with potatoes, carrots, peas, gravy and beef. They have vegetarian options as well. I crave this place, especially on a rainy or chilly day. Pure comfort food. I highly recommend. You wont be disappointed.

My only regret is thinking this place was dessert pies! Given the store front sign you cant tell. I would have been here much more often. Their meat pies are infused with flavor. Absolute favorite and I highly recommend the pepper steak pie! YUM!! I think its cool that the pies are small, and cater to each person so everyone can have their own pie... or two... without being married to one flavor.

Delicious and Fresh! This was my first time here and I was not disappointed. Great flavor, authentic, and most importantly fresh! I had part of a sausage roll, the ham and cheese pie, and a mini cherry dessert pie. Everything was amazing. The service was great too, he went over the whole menu with us as it was our first time.

Just go there and any review will be a moot point. Its maybe one of the best food places in the western burbs. Hot South African flaky pies with amazing meat and or veg fillings. Imagine a pie with beef stew inside as an example. BOOM!!!! Oh yeah. Its like that.

This is one of those places that is hard to find and in the middle of nowhere. But once you Take a bite youll travel 80 miles to get some more. the exquisite flavors of pies melt in your mouth exploding in fireworks of nicely balanced spices.
