My daughter order a cake and when she went to pick it up they had sold it! She went 10 minutes before the time she was told it would be ready. They said that they didnt think she was going to pick it up so they sold it! We usually buy the stars and the empanadas de cajeta; the price keeps going up and their size keeps getting smaller! I did bring the size up one time and he told me that they had lost the cookie cutter and a replacement was made; it sure was made smaller he said.

I walked in because I could smell the mexican pastries from a block away! They have a fantastic variety and the taste is as amazing as the price. I met the owner of the bakery and restaurant downstairs and he was very courteous to say the least. These kinds of places are what Elgin needs more of

Dont order your wedding cake here you can very disappointed. Cake was not good , was very dry or old. looked nothing like what i order , they put artificial flowers was a joke of a cake i told them i want flowers not a plastic flower . Not recommended!

Pastigel Bakery is one of my favorite bakeries in Elgin. It has a large variety of traditional Mexican sweet bread. The space is beautiful but the equiptment could be touched up. Usually has freshly baked bread in the mornings.

I needed a simple came but patriotic cake. These guys nailed it. It was so perfect and beautiful and tasty and affordable. I will come back next time I need a cake again.

Best mexican bread in the area. Always fresh made, tres leches cakes are DELICIOUS and very affordable compared to other bakeries. I suggest their cajeta empanadas!!!
