No. No. No. First off my daughter needed to use the restroom, no tp or paper towels & dirty bathroom 2 feet away from kitchen. Spent 30 bucks on food, which was one small sub & 2 burgers. The cook had 2 frozen patties in his un-gloved hand and looked unkempt. It tasted like cheap burgers at my sons high school football concession stand. The sub was not any better. In my opinion, this place is popular because kids talk about it, like bracelets, or fidget spinners. A fad, but food is not good. And btw, this place has been around forever, but now "popular" which I can only assume teenage gossip/fad. Bad Food. YUK. Save your money and go to jimmy johns.

When I think of a dive, this place comes to mind. But its AWESOME. No, this place is nothing fancy - its a tiny house converted into a sub shop and its always packed. But if youre looking for a great sandwich and a mess of fries, are you really looking for fancy? The A.S.S. offers a ton of unique sandwiches that are big and bursting with flavor. Go there at lunch time when its packed, grab a seat, and do some people-watching while you wait for your food. Then chow down - you wont want to wait to go back. Favorite items: the California - chicken breast with cheddar and chipotle mayo or Jimmy the Greek - marinated chicken with feta and olives.

Slow service. Always. Stay away if you have anything to do within 30 minutes of standing at the counter placing your order. Seriously. Though I see fully grown and capable adults working back there, I cant help but feel my food is being made by a one armed midget with a broken leg on his booster stool, assisted by that slow and simple kid Luke from modern family. That said, great food. Subs are the bomb. Soup is simply excellent... And they both better be, seeing as I could whip up about 50 sandwiches and a lot of soup in the time they take to make a single order :/

A.S.S. is a rare find.....there are few mom and pop shops left in suburbia, but I am glad this is one of them. Easily the best subs around; I recommend their signature Capone. They have a nice cozy atmosphere and a good menu to choose from with daily specials. The food is on the pricey side, so I do limit my visits to a special occasion or with extra cash on hand. Be prepared to spend at least $10-15 for a sandwich, drink and side. You will not be disappointed though.

Ive been coming here for years and every experience has been exceptional! I cant say enough good things....I only wish they were close to me....My husband and I travel an hour and a half to eat here and come every other month because its just that amazing! If you havent tried it, just do it!!! I get the Wheres Waldorf & my husband gets the chicken Diggs...Both opposited from one another, but equally exceptional!!!

Although the place could use a little sprucing up, every sandwich Ive ever had here has been good and the staff has been pleasant. I like that they have plenty of picnic tables outside since there is limited seating inside. Definitely recommend if youre looking for a genuine sub. Sometimes if you get there at peak times, there can be a line and wait for your food, but you can call ahead to place your order.

The best find in Algonquin! It is one of the few redeemable things I have found about living in this god forsaken land. Excellent comfort food served my great hard working honest and kind people! (What a concept, Illinois!) Dont let the small and unupdated edifice of the Algonquin Sub Shop scare you away (snobby, elitest Hummer drivers around here). This place is a gem!

Good food when they dont burn it. I just wish the place wasnt so dirty my girlfriend wont even go inside but the bad part is the service not only slow but they charge my card differently every time even tho I buy the same steak burger on a good day it will be $4.00 on a bad as high as $6.00 for this reason Im no longer recommending Algonquin Sub Shop.THANK YOU

Food is good but over priced and the girl working the register (sunday august 20th) was extremely unwelcoming and rude it almost seemed like doing her job was a bother...on another note the guys working the kitchen were very nice and even said thank you!! I live close by so if i decide to stop in again and see the same girl working the register Ill walk out..

If you are in the area, or if you have to drive 30 minutes out of your way, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to the A.S.S. (Algonquin Sub Shop). I have tried and loved 5 different sandwiches out of there about 20 (maybe more). Unique sauces, fresh bread, home baked treats for after. Small dining room but they do have a patio.

I live in Chicago, so I have to drive 40 miles out to the Sub Shop for a #9 w/ cheese fries. If you have any opportunity at all, GET THERE. Dont expect anything fancy, just one of the best, most creative sandwiches youll ever try. I really dont know how else to say it; I dare you to tell me Im wrong.

Food is very good and they give you a good portion size. Make sure to leave yourself enough time to wait for your order, though. Took my wife and I over 12 minutes from walking in the door to receiving our food. This is a good spot to get food from before heading to Scorched Earth too.

The #24 Texas Chili Rub is A.S.Ss gift to the world. It is without a doubt the best pork sandwich I have ever had. A.S.Ss menu has a great variety and everything is delicious, including their amazing soups! I go here all the time for the food and the polite service.

I had no idea the place I drive by all the time, thinking it was just a hole in the wall...would be so GOOD! Very tasty. Fast service. Absolutely love this place. My favorite is the Al Capone. Out of 3 other subs, they were all great. Highly recommend it!

No other sub shop in the area could even compare. I recommend the California Sub. Allow some time though or call ahead. If youre in a hurry theres probably a Jimmy Johns close by.. but I wouldnt recommend that kind of sacrifice.

Come here every time i want a good, warm sandwich! Have tried many, love them all. Priced about the same as other sub shops, but MUCH better quality!!!! Love it! You know the sandwich youre getting was made fresh, just for you.

The best chili cheese fries around for the price. The fries come in a large to-go container and they are not stingy on the fries, chili or cheese. Sometimes you need to ask to go easy on the onions. Great for kids meal too!

The Slgonquinc Sub Shop is not your average sandwich shop. They feature very creative sandwiches that truly are mouth-watering. I had the #16, which had grilled chicken, BBQ sauce, bacon, and cheese all on toasted bread.
