I agree with the above review that this place cant seem to decide what it wants to be. My wife and I decided to give it a try last night since we always love checking out new pubs, breweries, etc. and this is one we had not been to. The place is clean and well kept, but with half of it feeling like an uptown pub and the other half feeling like a dive bar, it had a bit of both in the way of clientele with a nice family feel on one end of the building and drunks shouting at each other as they were playing pool on the other end. The latter half brings up my main down-starring to this place. It was LOUD. LOUD LOUD LOUD. The acoustics in the building are downright atrocious and within several minutes of sitting down inside, my wife and my throats were hoarse from having to nearly scream at each other just so we could hear each other. Even then, the we couldnt hear each other. This is hands down the LOUDEST place Ive been to in Boise aside from a night club. We eventually got up and went to sit outside. That aside, the beer was good, and we ordered the nachos, which we really enjoyed. The seating area outside was nice, and by the look of the menu, it wasnt big, but it seemed like a good assortment for just grabbing food with beer after a work day. They really need to get the inside under control, hence the -2 stars. Line the ceiling with sound deadener. Ditch the pool tables and put more seating. Something. Otherwise, there are much more comfortable places in Boise to go relax.

If I could give it zero stars I would. If you enjoy waiting forever for food that is mediocre at best, that you choose from a limited, slim pickings type of menu, and then paying ridiculous prices for said crappy food then by all means, go to the twisted timber "pub & grill." I put the quote marks because a place that does not serve burgers or steaks and only offers fries as an appetizer and not a side does not deserve to be called a pub. I tried ordering the chips and salsa. I requested some shredded cheese for the salsa and was told they only had nacho queso. What kind of kitchen doesnt have cheese you may ask? Their kitchen, which more closely resembles a mall kiosk than an actual kitchen, does not, The loud, obnoxious, and cramped space only added to the miserable experience and made the un-attentive waitress even more annoying, hence the reason she did not receive a tip. $35 for 1 sandwich, 2 orders of 6 "hot wings" that were nothing more than chicken wings dipped in sauce, 2 beers, and a coke is far less than appropriate. Bottom line: this place cant seem to decide whether it wants to be a legitimate, well run pub or a dive bar where the locals hang out. Until it does, I suggest you dont waste your money, time, or patience and take your business elsewhere.

We love going to the timber! It is a great neighborhood hangout. The food is really very good. pizzas, sandwiches, fries, etc. all are great. Not gourmet, but hey, youre going to a fun bar. They always have REALLY good beer selections on tap and have a nice wine menu. We love riding our bikes up there in the summer time and enjoy sitting inside and out. The service is always excellent, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Where else are you going to be able to play a game of shuffleboard??? I would highly recommend this fun and friendly hangout. It has become one of our favorite places.

The three owners are great people! It is so nice to see 3 siblings that can truly make a place family and adult oriented. I have seen them in there with their families and they are just a great group of people. I know their parents are there regularly and it is wonderful to feel so at home there. I know that they have even given people rides home if they are impaired. Great food, even better beer, and a really fun environment whether you are there to sit and chat, play a game, or have a coffee! This is my all time favorite place.

The service here is very personable and layed back, they remember you and what you like to drink! Everyone was like family even the first time we went in. Even though it is on the other side of town from us, we hang out there as often as possible as the food is good and very affordable. The turkey avocado club is so good, and they also have pizza now. The best part is the shuffleboard table and free Nintendo Wiis. You will see me there a lot. And they have ACE pear cider! yum

A fantastic pub and grill (or tavern if you prefer). A great selection of beers at some of the best prices I have seen in Boise. The menu is mostly sandwiches, but they are new so hopefully that will grow as they do. No french fries :( They have two Wiis located in an alcove for the kids or adults. Golf 2009 and best of all - shuffleboard. Wrap around outdoor patio with lots of seating. By far my favorite place to go for a quick drink and snack after work.

Love the Timber! The food is great (dont miss out on the wings) and they always have a really good selection of craft beers on tap. There are plenty of flat screens to catch the game and they loive hockey so you doont have to ask someone to change the channel to catch some action on the ice.

Good and bad location for this joint. I like the fact that it is the only thing around for miles that will pour you a glass of beer. Bad location is they are close to the LDS church and thus dont serve hard liquor due to zoning regulations. They have great food.

Hands down the best place to eat or drink in Boise. Wonderful staff that sticks around for a long time. Great atmosphere and patrons as friendly as the staff. If they had an Xbox hooked up to one of the TVs I would never leave.

I stepped in and then left after seeing how crowded it was. I have never eaten there and I want to be taken off your list. With your method of advertising I may never step into your establishment again.

Ive been coming here for years! The staff is helpful and informative, the customers are locals with their own flavor, and the beer selection and tap rotation are the best in town.
