Ive never had a breakfast buffet before so I was real excited at the prospects of being able to build my own breakfast plate. The waitress was very polite and introduced herself immediately which was really pleasent. Throughout my visit the waitress ensured my drink was never empty and was always on the spot to clear the table as soon as one of my party finished a plate. Im not good with names but she was so good I wont forget hers. After getting the table, I started putting together my food and found myself wishing I had a larger plate in order to get more variety. Of course being a buffet going back for a second plate is always an option. Unfortunately my mood soured as I sat to eat. The tables were almost uncomfortably small as I found I needed to make room for the other members of my party. I also found an inconsistency in the cooking of the food. The bacon I had was so overcooked it had the texture, hardness, and flavor of plastic. The sausages were a mixed bag of both over and under cooked. And the pancakes were barely cooked at all. On my second trip I was hoping to have a slice of ham, however, the cook was too busy with his conversation to notice me. My father was in my party with me whom is now semi retired, having been a manager with several different restaurants over the course of 20 years. As my father went to get pancakes, while waiting for the cook to make more, noticed the grill wasnt hot enough. Having so many years experience he was able to see the pancakes werent cooking right. He brought up his concern to the cook who merely commented, "it should be 375 degrees". I could see and hear them both from where I was seated and the cook had the look on his face as if he was almost offended. At one point the cook tried to serve my father only to comment with surprised the pancake wasnt done. I honestly couldnt eat any more. I felt there just wasnt enough variety of food options. And for what they had it was a crap shoot on weather it was edible. Before writing this review or even leaving the restaurant my father commented that the foods sitting in the hot pans werent hot enough to meet health code laws. I ended up leaving hungry as I simply couldnt eat anymore. Im a big guy that enjoys eating and wont leave hungry as I simply dont have the money to feed myself otherwise.

Yesterday about 2pm my family and I went to Golden Corral on Emerald St. When I was serving myself food, a very arrogant manager, who has no hair, was there looking a bit drunk and talking loudly. He came and offered me scallops on a stick. I replied: "No thanks". He proceeded to act upset and then said: "Well then, do you want 10 bucks?" I gave him a cold glare and went like "What?" Then he started making fun of me to the other employees saying: "Oh look at her she doesnt want 10 bucks, she just lost it."... I could have sent him on a hike , but the surprise factor stunned me, plus I was dealing with sinus problems and wasnt feeling well. I decided to ignore the bastard and went back to sit with my family. My husband noticed me upset and asked me, when I told him he got enraged and called our waitress. She was very caring but also looked fearful and went to call another manager. She also came and looked fearful as well, she said I was talking about her boss, manager Dan, who is the main manager of all the Idaho Golden Corrals and a whole chain of Golden Corrals in Arizona where he actually lives and doesnt come here often. She apologized for him and gave us free vouchers for our next meal. She said she would talk to him after we left. Said his sense of humor tends to be like that, that he pretends to be on the phone when they are in meeting, and he is not, and he talks loudly as if telling a call girl not to call him anymore because hes married and so on... She was shaking... She looked terrified that she would have to address that with her boss... My husband was not satisfied with the free vouchers for next time. What he did he will most likely do to other women... I had to report this.

Just an awful experience. Where do I begin? 1. The people there are very low budget -- not dressed for dinner. Some come in like they just woke up, havent washed or just ran out of food stamps and want to feed the family on the fly. 2. The staff there is very low budget -- just unkempt people. Im thinking the pay must be very low because they dont attract alert and attentive workers. Its chaos in there because there is no crowd control. 3. The managers there are very, very low budget. If they arent sitting next to the office eating, theyre barking random orders at the workers who barely understand them. And its not really a language thing either. From what I could hear, theyre incomprehensible. 4. Food that is supposed to be hot is cold. Im thinking the heating lamps and chafing dishes are set up all wrong. 5. Food that is supposed to be cold is warm -- After reading the reviews for this place (sadly only after I went), I too saw the mustard / mayo sauce on the macaroni salads literally dripping off the noodles. Salad dressings were warm. 6. The place is dirty. Instead of a nationwide TV commercial campaign, how about a restaurant makeover on TV? 7. Anybody see the youtube golden corral video? Missed that until after I ate and complained to some buddies about it. 8. When I left I had parked towards the back where the workers were congregated smoking their cigarettes. I hated it and will never go back.

Do you like eating in a clean environment? Do you like fresh food? If you answered yes to the previous questions you are going to have a bad time at this location. The staff was not on their "A-game". Some of their meat products had a fowl odor. And they also allowed some of the meat to get cold. For example, their meatloaf was cold and Im 100% sure it was ridden with bacteria. The bathrooms were WRECKED. They didnt have soap in the bathrooms just hand sanitizers and there were no paper towels. So basically the staff just washed there hands with water and added hand sanitizer. If hands are wet and arent properly dried that spreads bacteria. I hope no one gets food poisoning. My advice to the manager/owner quit wasting money on promotion/marketing and security cameras. Hire a staff that loves what they do and use quality meat products. Also switch out cold food especially meat. Keep the bathrooms nice and tidy. Oh and quit being cheap and order some paper towels and some damn soap.

¿Habla Ingles muchacho? I went there for some pre-paid financial planning seminar that some shylock was putting on for my mother and all the other elderly widows in the area. I had to tell the cooks to quit yelling at me because Im not deaf, I speak English and just dont understand what they were saying. Who hires these people? Managers stand around outside and smoke, while the staff dishes up cold, nasty food and yuk it up when you ask what theyre serving us. The mustard on the macaroni salad was literally dripping off the top noodles it had sat so long, the mini burgers were SO WAY overcooked I tossed them lovingly as hockey pucks across the table between the plates that werent picked up by the chitty-chatty servers at the register, and then some really old guy came in (Im assuming another manager) and started yelling at the cooks as we were leaving. NEVER AGAIN.
