I hope these people read these comments because they honestly need to improve. First off: The restaurant smelled terrible this is probably because of the nail place next door but there are ways to get rid of it. They just leave it there like they want their sensitive costumers to get sick off the smell. Second of all the food to price ratio was horrible. Having to order your sides separate instead of making a meal out of it. Then you get literally a small handful of the side you ordered and youre paying $4 for this side. Third: The food tasted terrible no flavor at all to anything my family ordered. Fourth: We had terrible service from our waitress. Everything was brought out one at a time instead of together like every other restaurant on the planet. So by the time I was finished eating my sisters salad was just coming out. How does a salad come out before something that has to be cook? The waitress was snippy with us and was very short. Horrible place, family was disappoint were not going there again.

I cant believe I spent my money here. I came here on Friday for dinner, and what a mess. There was food inbetween the seats of our booth to start, gross. The menus were sticky? And everything was expensive. Shouldve left right away, but we were hungry. Everything we ordered was greasy. The batter they use is god awful, soggy and sloppy. our waitress was a tool. how do you have a job in service with that kind of attitude? the bathroom reaked. it is a bathroom after all, but jesus...periodical cleaning wouldnt hurt. especially when your food is so bad everyone needs the toilet. at least keep it clean! i will never go back. if i ever drive by it, if people are with me who do not know about this place yet, i will tell them not to go either. you might as well just eat your money. it will taste better. -5 stars.

Eat with flies and cold food! Yuk! UPDATE! Do Not Grin and Bare it and eat the food and just pay your bill like my family did! Today we are all sick with diarrhea and vomiting! We stopped here after shopping for back to school for a late lunch/early dinner, we had not ate previous to this, just had sodas while shopping in order to finish all shopping first. Afterward we did not feel well and ate nothing more and today WE ARE ALL SICK with FOOD POISONING!!! DO NOT EAT HERE! Calling Health Dept Tomorrow!!!

I eat here one to two times per week, great price for great food and I see regulars in there all the time. I am very suspect of the negative reviews, since I have been eating there for about 20 years and before they moved to the new building. The Hickory Flat Business Owners meet there once per week every Thursday morning at 7:45AM. Funny how the negative reviews are from people who dont list their name.

Be sure to check your receipt and make sure that you werent overcharged. I was told a wrong price and paid it and then when I found out the price was wrong and brought it to the attention of the mgr at the Towne lake site, I was told pretty much too bad and they didnt seem to care!!! There are way too many places to eat, to be treated like this. I wont be going back.

Great place for family-style Georgia cooking, generally referred to as a "meat and 3" (sides that is). Its meant to be a less expensive alternative to regular restaurants. I like the country fried steak, and the vegetables include french fries and mac and cheese, so I can stay happy. My wife likes the vegetable plate, where she can get four of the side on one plate.

I always though the food was either bland or mediocre, but today I watched as the woman who manages this place belittled and insulted a young man at a grocery store. I hope to god no one (including her!) ever treats her staff the way she treated him. I will never eat here again. No one should treat someone in the service industry the way she treated him. Just awful.

Not many places you go, you see the same faces, the same food, every time. Its always consistent, always well priced, even the coupons, always the same. If you live in Town Lake and you are tired of feeding your kids chemical induced pizza, hormone induced chicken sandwiches or burgers...... Go to Family Tradition and get a good meal for a good deal.

I got an omelette with the hash brown casserole and fruit. The omelette was great and the hash brown casserole was fantastic. The casserole is very similar to the one at cracker Barell. The staff was very nice and waitress was great too. Drinks were always kept up with refill. Wait time was only about 10 minutes on a Saturday morning for two.

The food is GREAT, old country, home-style, food. Big portions. Not for dieters! We would gladly give it 5 Stars, but the servers, though polite, get a little too busy to refill coffee and drinks, and seem like they are trying to move you along so they can turn the tables sometimes, bringing your check with the entree.

Im a big fan of a meat and two restaurant have eaten at dozens throughout the Southeast. This is the worst one I have ever found. The sides and the meats are essentially flavorless. I went back a second time hoping that maybe they were having an off night, but received the same bland flavorless slop. Dont eat here.

This restaurant is a seat yourself, true home cooking kind of place. Very inexpensive for quality food. Generous portions and good coffee. I have never left here dissatisfied. All the staff is very kind and sweet and ready to make sure you have a great breakfast/lunch.

Disgusting. I called health inspector. Floor dirty. Tables dirty. Bathrooms filthy. Food appalling. Same bitchy waitress with terrible attitude. Whoever owns this place needs to do something or if not rename the place Salmanella waiting to happen.

THIS is Southern cooking done correctly. Simple, nothing fancy, an unassuming southern atmosphere, friendly wait staff AND good food. The wife and I are working our way through the menu once a month and so far they are batting 1000.

Our experience here was great. Ate breakfast and lunch here on different days. The owner was very active with the customers. Country fried steak, yeast rolls, peach cobbler were all great. Will return to eat here again.
