TLDR: Amazing food. Outstanding service. Chef/Owner Andre is the epitome of an AWESOME human being that goes WAY above and beyond to share his passion. Intrigued? Read on... My wife and I recently welcomed our baby boy into the world so first our date night, we chose Porchlight. Why is that important? Heres why: 7 weeks ago we were entering our last weekend before our son was born, which happened to be my wifes birthday weekend. She was so uncomfortable in the final days of her pregnancy that it was difficult to go out to eat. I called Porchlight that Friday and Andre answered. I told him that I knew it was last minute but my wife was pregnant and we werent really able to plan in advance as we based decisions about leaving the house around her daily comfort level. Andre regretfully advised me that the restaurant was closed the whole weekend as they were accommodating a wedding. Before I even got to say thanks and hang up, he said "Take my cell number. Call me when your baby is born and I will personally deliver a meal to the hospital." Yeah, you read that right. A COMPLETE STRANGER/RENOWNED CHEF OFFERED TO BRING US A MEAL IN THE HOSPITAL. I could probably stop here as you have enough information to make a more than informed decision about the caliber of person that owns this place. I wont do that though. So here we go: I ordered the Can Can (Puerto Rican pork chop) which is pork loin chop, rib meat, and pork belly. It was incredible. Flavor went all the way through the meat, was perfectly cooked, and was great when reheated in a pan the next day. Sides we ordered were plantains, mac and cheese, and rice and beans. All of which were delicious and complimented each other very well. Porchlight Kitchen. Do it. Youll thank me.

I was very excited to find such a unique restaurant in Smyrna! The seating is a bit tight, but the delicious food and drinks paired with amazing service more than make up for it. We made reservations for 7:30 on a Thursday night, and it was clear when we arrived that a reservation was necessary; the place was packed. What we ate/drank: - Smashed Yuca Mofongo: My favorite; absolutely delicious and enough to share - Plantain Empanadas - 4 tasty empanadas served HOT (heat - not spicy) - Sol Tuna Tacos - Pretty good and uniquely served on a kabob stick, but I would pick something different next time - Soft Shell Crab Po-Boy (special) - My husband liked it, but he preferred the appetizers - Yuca Fries - YUM, especially with the sauce - Rum Glazed Sweet Plantains - I could eat these all day long - Smyrna Old Fashioned - My husband loved this - Tropical Sangria - Absolutely delicious and made me feel like I was on an island I plan to go back here... tomorrow!

Food was excellent. My main complaint is that the tables are way too close together. The waiters and waitresses kept trying to squeeze in between the tables to serve customers, and Id end up with a big smelly rear in my face every time. I like having nice quiet conversations at restaurants but I had all kind of strangers within whisper distance. Please either expand to a larger venue or remove some tables. The waitress was not familiar with the term "fountain drinks" (ie, a soda fountain which always implies free refills, as opposed to single pay-per cans/bottles of soda). She told me they do indeed have fountain drinks, but then proceeded to give me a bottle. I informed her that I was trying to just get a glass of soda with refills, she said "oh yeah we have glasses", but then brought me a glass bottle of soda.

This is one of the best dining experiences in Smyrna. The food is unexpected for such a small unremarkable building in the Smyrna Market Village. Its cozy and casual, and the staff treats you like family. Original cocktails and local craft beers. The menu has some mainstays like the pork chop (largest and most flavorful cut of pork youll eat in your life...just before your heart attack). But the chef mixes it up regularly so its worth going back frequently. With a couple days notice, they will also order and cook a whole pig for a party of 8 to 12 hungry diners. Whatever you eat here is guaranteed to inspire you to tell others about it. This is one you should put on your calendar as soon as you can as it seems the secret is out. I would advise calling ahead too.

This is by far the my favorite restaurant in Smyrna. Andre is the best and he will go out of his way to make sure your meal is great. Some might argue that the prices are a little high, but youre paying for quality not quantity and PLLKs quality is the best in the area. On discovering the restaurant I ate there every day for over a month straight. Ive had the entire menu multiple times over. If you have a big appetite, I recommended the Can-Can ( a pork chop as big as my arm!) or the Tomahawk Ribeye (only an occasional special). I love the corn and the Triple Torta as well. If there are any menu items weaker than the rest, I would say its the Beer Can Chicken Burrito and the salads. Everything else is just terrific.

Happened upon this gem of a restaurant while in GA (tucked in back corner of shopping center) and would come back again. Had the conch fritters it was like being in Hopetown, Abacos, friend of mine had the queso fundido (so good he ordered a second) this appetizer should be called "fun in your mouth" or "lets get the party started" because next he had the ribs and they were fall off the bone delicious, and I had the Mahi tacos and they were fresh, light. With a crunching slaw. All was Delicious! Hope to try more on the menu my next visit to GA, but for you ATL residents its like being in the Caribbean without needing a passport!

Sat at bar and ate twice here in the last 2 weeks. I really like this place! The chef, Andre Gomez, gives you personal attention. Chef and staff are attentive and genuinely want you to enjoy the food and experience. Conch fritters were good though some people dont like conch so keep that in mind. Whole fried fish is so perfect-it doesnt need accompanying sauce. The sauce on its own is delicious just think the fish is rich enough on its own. The El Chapo cocktail is delicious. They have a solid local beer selection. Red sangria is ok but I was full at the time. Tres leches was delicious. Lovely neighborhood ambiance.

I visited Porchlight last night for the first time - everything I tasted was outstanding and rich in flavor. The steak special I ordered was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I also highly recommend the Mofungo (a yucca hash with garlic and topped with duck- sinfully delicious), the red beans and rice (the best Ive ever had), and the porkchop can-can (unbelievably flavorful) . Even though every table in the place was full, our service was excellent - Todd didnt miss a beat. Owner and staff were welcoming and friendly. This restaurant is a gem!!!

Happiness at first bite! Inventive menu; unique flavors; fun, friendly, unpretentious vibe. Plantains with a silky creamy sauce; mac-n-cheese with crunchy pork rind crumbles (better than bacon)! The rub on the ribs and pulled pork is amazing and addictive. Even the red beans and rice has so much flavor. Cant wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Oh...and an excellent selection at the bar. Pssst...the Bloody Mary is the best Ive ever had - flavorful without being chewy from an overload of spices. The perfect neighborhood restaurant!
